Lori Copeland continues her historical romance series, Brides of the West, with book 2, June. Mail-order bride June Kallahan arrives in Seattle from Michigan to discover that her intended, Eli Messenger, the assistant to a famous evangelist named Isaac Inman, is ill. After he dies, June stays on to work at the local orphanage, where she realizes Inman is allowing the orphans to go without in order to build a showy tabernacle. A romance blooms between June and Parker Sentell, a friend of Eli’s, as they try to convince Inman of the errors of his thinking. Readers will learn the important lesson that God is ever faithful, even when we don’t understand his plan or purpose in our lives. June delivers a lighthearted, entertaining story along with strong moral values and a Christian worldview.

June reading totals well down on the previous month - June always a busy work month. Only read 9 of the 18 planned books, and am currently in the middle of 3 of them (the one with the book worms on). 6 I didn‘t even start.

This wasn‘t helped by getting hooked on the Red Rising Trilogy, and that is a lot of reading, as well as needing to immediately pick up Harry Potter book 7 on finishing book 6 - needed to know what happened!

Dragonfairykats Awesome way to do the graphics! 3w
Andrew65 @Dragonfairykats Thanks, I often refer to this during the month to ensure I am progressing with the books. Beats a list! 3w

Had a great reading month in June. Read lots of titles for my work with the Decatur Book Festival programming committee. These were my favorites from this month and they were all ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Wolff, Cep, and Vuong are coming to the festival Labor Day weekend. I can‘t wait!!! Highly recommend picking up Milkman on audiobook. #DBF2019

My monthly goal is 17 books and this is the first month I have fallen short. I‘ve been stressed and work and home have both been busy. But 16 books isn‘t bad! This was a tough month and I did not like a lot of what I read.
Top reads: The Nickel Boys, Higher Loyalty.
Bottom: Gifted School, Unsheltered, If Cats Disappeared. Lots more fall on the bad/meh side.

DGRachel That‘s a great result, especially for not enjoying a lot of what you read. That always makes it hard! 3w
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego Still a successful month! 💖📖💖 I thought The Pilot's Wife was Meh, especially since it was an Oprah book. 3w

ShelleyBooksie How was Paddle Your Own Canoe? 3w
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego @ShelleyBooksie It wasn't bad, I liked his POV on a lot of things. Got a bit boring near the end. But i think that's cuz it was audio, if i was reading a print copy l probably would have gotten through it faster. 3w
PurpleyPumpkin Great reading month! Well done!👍🏽 3w

I'm excited to participate in a photo challenge again. With everything going on, I haven't been online as much recently so I'm hoping this pushes me to post more. 😀

Hazel0303 I really want to read Deep River and reluctantly requested it - I say reluctantly because of it being over 800 pages. 😬 2mo
