Book 11 in this series. I didn‘t realize I‘ve already read 10 others of these! This one was Greyson and Kara‘s story. Most of this story is actually set outside of the town of Nocturne Falls. This was a quick romance read.

Okay, done with reviews for today!

Low pick on this one. The MC annoyed me because she could not accept ANY help. And if she was just honest, there would have been no heartache… but it‘s a romance so there has to be conflict.

Her stepsister was absolutely the worst. This was an interesting story and set up with face blindness.

The MC drove me nuts! She gets a chance to do the past year over again and she decides to change herself completely and stop being outspoken. Also her family is awful.

I think it‘s the point of the book for her to realize she didn‘t need to change herself for a guy, but it was so frustrating to read.

I forgot how much sex is in these books, so not a great one to listen on audio. 🫣

This is the 3rd book in the series and not my favorite. Definitely had a lot more adventure and danger in it but not sure if I‘ll continue with this series.

I also always forgot these are set in Australia so it threw me for a second to listen to an Australian accent read these books!

Read in February.

Does anyone listen to audiobooks on Spotify? We are testing Spotify premium for a month and you get 15 hours of audiobook listening.

If I listen to an 11hr audiobook at 2x speed, does it count as 11 hours or the actual amount of time you physically listen?

Deblovestoread They seem to count the time based on 1.0 speed. I listened to a 9 hr book at 1.8 and started a second but it shout down after about 2 hours of time. 1mo

This book started so strong for me. It was a contender to be my favorite book of January. Unfortunately it fizzled out for me about half way through. 55% and it was great and just fell apart for me. I‘m not sure if it‘s because of what happened in the story or what. But then the ending kind of saved it for me. But that middle part was rough and really brought this one down for me.

So I accidentally was reading 2 Asian fantasy books, set in San Francisco. One on audio, one ebook. I did get some things confused at first and had to think about which book I was reading.

All that to say, I really loved book! I really hope there are more. A female John wick like character with magic! Emiko was the Blade, known as the butcher of Beijing. It becomes too much for her so she quits and moves for SF.

I really hope for a sequel!

Okay, does anyone have a tip to see unread books, and filter out the library books? A lot of times, I won‘t finish ebooks I take out from the library and technically they aren‘t on my kindle anymore. But they‘re still showing up on my unread list! (I was using the kindle app on my phone, maybe I‘ll try actual kindle next time)

So hopefully these are all actual owned ebooks, but they‘re all unread!

#readyourkindle

TheBookHippie I had the original kindle loved it til it died I‘m stilllll trying to figure out my new one and it doesn‘t hold charge long. Frustrating! 2mo
IndoorDame I don‘t know how to filter for unread (mine automatically marks books when I finish, but I don‘t find it super accurate/helpful). But for returned library books you need to go through your Amazon account not your physical kindle or app. In devices and content you can filter that way and delete all the old borrowed books or all samples or whatever… 2mo
willaful I'm with @TheBookHippie I can't figure out the new Kindle update on my Paperwhite. 😳 Still holding on to my ancient Voyage for as long as I can.

CBee I have a paperwhite and can filter between read and unread. I think I did that on the app. 2mo

I saw this one recommended on a Facebook group for someone looking for something specific (but I don‘t remember what). This is a dark fantasy, the MC has been through a lot, but tries to not think of herself as a victim. You get present day and 7 years ago in the past. You watch the relationships unfold. This is the 1st book in a trilogy that I plan to continue.
