As part of my #balletreads challenge I picked this one. Very in-depth analysis of the history of ballet. Things addressed varied from the history of Danish and Italian as well as Russian and British and America ballet companies to introductions of some of the most influential dancers. Well worth the read if you‘re a lover of ballet or just being introduced for the first time. #ballet #springread

For #readafrica2022 I selected this title for The Seychelles. This one was a pleasant surprise as far as storylines and characters. Supernatural, suspense with a wee bit of romance tossed it. What I loved the most about this book is how alive the Seychelles were for me through descriptions. Solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️#traveltheoughbooks @Librarybelle @BarbaraBB

For #readafrica2022 I selected this title representing #Belgiancongo #thecongo. I have to say I spent a few chapters yelling at the book. A few chapters crying and the whole book cringing as several times it was extremely uncomfortable. Which I guess is why it‘s a controversial read. In any event this country came alive for me through her descriptions and the characters. #travelthroughbooks @BarbaraBB @Librarybelle @Texreader

Librarybelle I‘ve yet to read this one, but I‘ve heard others describe all of the emotions they get from this one. 2d
KristiAhlers @Librarybelle it was good but I wouldn‘t read it again. It was actually a draining read emotionally if you know what I mean. 2d

First I‘m not sure how to describe this book. It‘s a story within a story within a story. Got it? Yeah neither did I until I started to read it. I have to say all the storylines held my attention but it was difficult to read at times. Read the notes on the book page. Or read the page and then the notes. Yeah I switched back and forth. J.J. Abrams wrote it…so…it‘s going to be different. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #springread #impulsebuy

lumbricuslibri I've had this since 2014 but still haven't read it. I find it daunting, don't know how to start. 3d
KristiAhlers @lumbricuslibri I finally settled on reading the “story” and then reading the side notes. As a lot of those address the “story”. But it took me a chapter or so to settle on a routine of that. 3d

Character nope. Storyline. Nope. I did go to the back to see how this would tie up. Yeah cliffhanger and yeah no thanks. #romantsy @TheAromaofBooks

For #travelthroughbooks I have visited Finland in this romance retelling of Hades and Persephone ⭐️⭐️⭐️ read. At times it truly engaged me (I‘m always down for a retelling as most of you know) but this was just too often a hit and a miss then engaging back to…hmmm let‘s skim a few pages. For #travelthroughbooks we visit #sweden in this true crime read. I will say it was interesting to read how criminal investigations are done in other countries.
