Book 4 of the Greenstone Security series. I love Anne Malcom and how she crafts characters and storylines that aren‘t always pretty. This book does touch on domestic violence so if that‘s a trigger for you please be advised it is a major plot point but covered in a way that‘s not throw away. And as always with this author have Kleenex handy.

Book 2 in the trilogy. Another great story from this author. Solid addition to the story and I‘m finding I‘m anxious to see how with turns out. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2.

MadelineMcCrae I loved this series!! Mary Pearson is a great author! She has a duology set in the same universe called Dance of Thieves and I adored it🥰 2d

This is a strong pirate/high seas adventure with a strong female lead and a tad touch of romance. Wasn‘t exactly what I was expecting but found it to be a solid read. This is part of a series and there is a cliffhanger so be warned.

No matter how short this story is it manages in less than 100 pages to knock you on your backside. You want to try to understand how Nazi Germany and the belief systems managed to grow is explained here. Told in letter writing form this story is heartbreaking while so very very real.

Can we all say book hangover? This is fantasy, history, and just plain awesomeness between two covers. Legitimately inhaled this one in an afternoon…didn‘t get anything else done but I did read, so winning. A local bookseller suggested it when I was stuck for something to read (not that I don‘t have TBR bookcase or anything). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ easily!

I was looking for a new series since I‘m waiting for the next Sarah J Maas offering and a bookseller recommended this one and I was pleasantly surprised. Not the same dystopian trope at all and the cliffhanger is solid enough I shall go and get the next in the series. Trying to get caught up here before the holiday read challenge starts.

Full disclosure I have a degree in history with an emphasis on Russian history. Forget the typos and over use of $5 words that are supposed to…I guess make it sound like she knows what she‘s talking about. Let‘s just put it this way she knows enough to outline things…not enough to write a detailed book like this. It‘s called research, oh and fact checking. One opinion doesn‘t make it true. As a historic writer I‘d think she‘d figure this out.

This is book 5 in the series and it‘s Will‘s story. And just when I thought Damon would forever be my favorite…Will‘s book happened! This is a dark romance and may not be for everyone. The series should be read in order. I‘ve just got the Christmas holiday novella left and this series will be over. Which makes me sad. Which is why I own the books so I can re-read them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ❤️

I read the Tattooist of Auschwitz and this is its sequel and in no means is it second best. So good. Based on a true story and I could only hope to be as strong as Cilka. I went to Auschwitz-Birkenau when we lived in Brussels years ago. I can still…to this day remember EXACTLY how I felt and the ghost who still remained. Maybe this is why this story resonates with me so very much.

This was a First Reads from Amazon selection. I picked it due to the fact I‘ve been passed her house in Grass Valley, California. More like the unraveling for the reader. This reads like a sad knock off of Daisy Jones and the Six. Only think less Fleetwood Mac and more Spice Girls. And not in a good way. A lot going on here and we never learn why Cassidy took her own life. There is a serious trigger warning at the beginning of the book so I won‘t go into that. Put this one down frequently. Started it back in September finished it today. Yeah. That.

Not. A. Fan. I don‘t know if it‘s the smacking about the head and face with pop culture references or the length ( short people less than 120 pages) or the overworked effort into making this one matter. Pick one or all in any event it fell flat. Which is sad as I was looking forward to her feminist twist on a retelling of sleeping beauty. Even the illustrations on every page wasn‘t enough to save it.

kamoorephoto Bummer! 2w

I‘ve been a long time fan of this author and this newest offering further solidified my opinion. This is the story of Madeline Force Astor telling the story to her infant son of the courtship, marriage and than loss of his father John Jacob Astor IV. I admit I needed Kleenex for this one. The ultimate love story to be honest. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I LOVED everything about this book. It follows Rosalie Iron Wing, a Dakota orphan as she reconnects with family. Told mainly from her POV we learn of her family history wish flashbacks to her ancestors and their connection to plants and growing life and traditions while their traditions were forced to change. I really can‘t say enough wonderful things about this story. Easily top 10 on what I‘ve read this year.

This is the third B&N book club book with the same dang trope. Friends gather, relationships that seem ok are dodgy, drama, awkward sex scenes. The difference here it‘s set during a pandemic. Ugh I‘m still living in a pandemic, I don‘t need to read about one. Why can‘t we just have books that are fun and an escape? Or if you‘re picking book club books find a new trope!

Smrloomis Darn, this has gotten some good hype but that sounds super boring to me 🤷🏻‍♀️ 2w

Bought this at the airport and started it while waiting for my first flight. I was absorbed by this true story. The author goes into such detailed history of the family going all the way back to the very first Gucci business. I had no idea it was made into a movie. This literally has it all love, hate, family scandal. In many ways this is a sad, sad all too real story.

This does read as if it were an essay that was fleshed out to a book length read so at times it‘s a little dry, but with that said there was a lot of good information regarding the myth, and examples of how some live the life of the vampire. When in New Orleans you have to explore the vampire myth.
