Another tough 'favorite' prompt π
@ChrisBohjalian is right there at the top of #FavoriteMaleAuthor I've been reading his books since Midwives was an Oprah Book Club pick. His writing never disappoints!

From the blurb: "...when it comes to understanding the brain, art got there first. ...Proust first revealed the fallibility of memory...George Eliot understood the brain's malleability...Cézanne worked out the subtleties of vision...and Gertrude Stein exposed the deep structure of language."
#MarchMagic #AboutScience
Gotta admit--I bought this book because of the cover; and I'm about to find out if the story is as good π¬
After reading Hogan's other books this one was a bit of disappointment. Honestly, it would have much better without the Alice and Mattie component because Masha and her friends were perfectly intriguing and entertaining on their own. I also enjoyed the lessons on Victorian cemeteries and death customs πͺ¦β°οΈ
'Christina's World' by Andrew Wyeth (photo found on them interwebs)
In 'A Piece of the World' Kline tells Christina's story and how the painting came to be.

Thanks for the tag @Eggs

I've been wanting to read this for a long time. So excited to dive in
#CurrentRead
Fun and heart-warming!
It's also a relief to find out that not everything I knew about the world is obsolete πβπ¨
Never watched the Netflix series, but when I came across the book in Goodwill I figured 'Why not?'
The biggest impression it made on me was to wonder if Teresa Guidice's book was similar bc they both served in Danbury, or if there was a little ....um, "borrowing" happening.
#MarchMagic #AdaptedToNetflixSeries
Starting this now and hoping for a little enlightenment myself because everything I once knew about the world seems to be obsolete now π«₯
A fun little read about BFFs from Iowa getting summer jobs at Tiffany in 1945.
I really enjoyed it
I love the library semi-annual sale π
Cute little impromptu present from the Mr. π₯°
I read a lot of #TrueCrime in my 20s. I especially loved Mafia books.

Taking a break from cleaning to feel the sun on my face and start Summer at Tiffany

Bought this last year at my library's spring book sale. Which reminds me, this year's spring book sale starts this Friday...Yes!!
#MarchMagic #OnTBRForOneYear
Loved it just as much as I did (cough, cough, choke) 40+ years ago!
All the memories of my BFF and her horse, and the pony she said was mineβΊοΈβΊοΈ Riding every day in the fields behind her house @TheBookHippie we were on own deserted island.
Thank you @TheBookHippie for making this the March book #ChildrensClassicRead2023
Also, 5th state for #BooksByState2023 #NewYork @AsYouWish
Yeah, I don't know what my #FavoriteGenre is ... It depends, I go through phases. I've had romance phases, historical fiction phases, non-fiction phases, Star Wars phases . . . So yeah π

Loved this book! Reminded me a bit of Ira Levin's This Perfect Day (also Loved)

A different kind of #LoveTriangle -- Clare, Bobby, and Jonathan have a baby and move in together to raise their child.

It's only March 6th and I'm already playing prompt catch-up thanks to a nasty little stomach bug π

Starting this for #ChildrensClassicRead2023
I wish I still had my copy, but this is my daughter's that came with the Breyers Black Stallion I bought her 20 or so years ago π΄
Just came home from a walk with this #SpecialEdition Neil Gaiman that was in my local Little Free Library π
#MarchMagic
Just finished and it was painfully boring. However, because of the subject of eternal life and the ending it will stick with me. Overall, it was a little too A Pilgrim at Tinker Creek for me.
I remember WAYYYYYYY back in the day when my mother was reading this book, this cover scared the shit out of me π
I was about 7 or 8, and there was just something about that red mitten along with the title that got me all π±
#ScaryFebruary #Disappear
Starting this one tonight.
My friendly bank teller culled her bookshelves to make room and set aside a couple she thought I might like. It pays to talk books everywhere you go!!
Beautiful 'false spring' day in Colorado! Hit the trails with my daughter and the Grand π₯Ύ
It was muddy af for most of the hike and as I was slippin' and slidin' I kept thinking about Women's Diaries of the Westward Journey, and again--I'm amazed anyone completed that journey!!
8 year old Ella wants a dad but her mother, Penelope, is more concerned with protecting them both from heartbreak. However, the very sassy and opinionated apothecary table in Penelope's hot chocolate café sides with Ella and Penelope doesn't stand a chance ?
#Loveathon #SingleParent
At first I was bummed because the first half of the book is just a history of the move west BASED on some of the women's diaries. However, once I started reading I was just captivated. It's actually quite amazing that anyone made it West!
I thought the trek from NY to CO in a U-Haul towing a car with 2 cats during a pandemic was hard enough, but if we had to take everything apart to cross a river by raft...Yeah, I'd still be in NY π€£
Life has a way of interrupting the fun; so here's a #ScaryFebruary catch up post

"This book began with a fascination for the diaries of the overland women, with the detail of their lives and the dramatic dimensions of their everyday existence."
#FirstLineFridays @ShyBookOwl
#FirstLove makes me think of forever, and who doesn't have fond memories of feverishly flipping through the pages and giggling with your best friends? Good times π

Cats just love to bring ya not necessarily wanted gifts and just plop 'em at your feet; mice, birds, sexy neighbors . . .
