I absolutely loved this book. I'm so glad that I finally read it. Edward Dantes is wrongfully thrown in prison, but after almost 2 decades, he escapes. He then finds hidden treasure and then goes after the people who wronged him 🖤

I enjoyed this thriller about a group of high school kids who survived an accident that binded them together, and now, years later, they have met up for their own reunion. But one of them goes missing, and secrets are starting to come out.

This is a weird story about 3 girls who went through a tragedy together. Naomi, who was attacked and almost killed, while her two friends hid, has gone back home to meet up with those friends after the man that attacked her has died in prison.

This is a fantastic take on Pinocchio. In this story Victor, a human boy, who has been raised by his father, Geo an android and with his friends Nurse Rachet, a nurse Droid and Rambo a vacuum Droid. Together they all live happily out in the forest and then one day they find a new friend 🤖

I really loved this book. Rook, as he has been renamed, has talked his way into a job with Antonia, a powerful sorcerer and hex breaker. He is supposed to be keeping his head down since he has no magic himself, but that doesn't happen. And Sun, the Apprentice of Antonia's colleague is another distraction 😽

This was a good book. I really enjoyed the plot, and the characters, Rachel and Susan, were my favorites.

In April I read ten books. My favorites were Doctor Sleep and The Book of the Dead 🩷

This book was barely a pick for me. It was a great premise: three generations of women who are natural witches & how they survived the men in their lives. However the main story started out rather predictably & was the least interesting. Also I'm rather sick of the all men are evil trope.

This is the conclusion to The Anatomy duology. I've enjoyed both books. In this one Hazel ends up as the private surgeon of the princess Charlotte, whose sickness so far no one has been able to cure.

This book has two problems. One this book takes an unreliable narrator to a new level, and two almost everyone in this book is horrible. Fern sees a news story about a missing woman and realizes that she knows her but can't remember how. What follows is Fern trying to get through her repressed memories and a slew of nominations for worst parents ever.

This book took me a long time to get into, but once I did, it turned out to be good. The twists, although I saw a few coming, were really good. Harriet gets a letter about an inheritance. She believes it to be a case of a mistaken identity, but she's broke and has a loan shark breathing down her neck. So she heads off to collect anyway.

This is my favorite Hawkins novel. Emily is a cozy mystery writer who goes on a trip to Italy with her best friend Chess, a self-help guru. There at Villa Aestas, Emily finds the journal of Mari Godwick, who wrote Lilith Rising, a cult horror novel from the 70s. It's very gothic, Mary Shelley with some Fleetwood Mac thrown in.

I absolutely loved this book. It's a beautiful, Gothic, fairytale inspired story of a man who marries a rich heiress who wants to keep her past a secret. But then, when her Aunt is near death, they have to return to her childhood home, The House of Dreams.

This was a really good book about feud between Westinghouse and Edison, with Tesla over the electric light bulb. It gets dirty at times, but somehow Paul Westinghouse's lawyer keeps his sanity, mostly.
