Awful book club choice. You can tell this is by a scriptwriter I think, cinematic short chapters but so shallow, repeated phrases that grate, little character development. @Hooked_on_books review nails it :-)

Quite chuffed with my freebie from the Penguin Random House Bookmarks website, I haven't done very much apart from full out a few polls so well worth it!
Thanks for the tag @RaeLovesToRead !
#twofortuesday @TheSpineView thank you!
1. Yes I'll always have at least a glass of water with me :-)
2. Having a couple of nights off booze as nasty cough so recuperating, a camomile tea whilst reading a trashy thriller
Tag any of the #gladstonerds crew and anyone else!
Home from Toby's 50th bday ski hol - one holiday where I just can't fit in any reading at all 😭 - and am so excited to get going for 2024 especially with a read along with @RaeLovesToRead - I am reading a version courtesy of @squirrelbrain, many thanks!!
Thank you so much @BarbaraBB for my lovely #jolabokaflod treats, perfect Christmas Eve ahead 🤩
And thanks again to @MaleficentBookDragon for making so many Litsians across the globe happy tonight!
Merry Christmas!
Thank you @BarbaraBB !! Safely delivered today ☺️🎄🎄🎁❤️🥳🤩
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
And thank you @MaleficentBookDragon for organising the always amazing #jolabokaflod
Mine going out tomorrow!
Today's airport paperback new fiction choices... Suitable beach reads I hope
Birthday Book Haul! Thanks @Caroline2 and @squirrelbrain (and my brother for the politico!)
Who's a lucky girl then?! Better get reading! #booker23
Many thanks to @julesG for helping me get the Litsy app back again when I mislaid it! 😘
Late night bus reading complete with a load of rubbish on the floor 😢 Has no one on Litsy read this one...? It's odd but I'm loving it :-)
The red wine is out...! Weather so depressing :-( but this book - a completely random choice from the library - is perking me up! Compared to the Secret History which it obviously isn't but it's a gripping read so far!
And Eleanor! Loved her. Explained the book and its genesis so well, didn't realise the furore unleashed by the NZ PM on her a few years ago which led in some ways to the book, as well as screenwriting Emma and of course Macbeth.
Heard the author read from his book at Hay today, incredibly powerful, such an interesting, emotionally intelligent person, made me less scared and more excited to read. He opened with the section shouting "Oi, dickhead" which surprised the interviewer somewhat whilst taking her drink of water!

#camplitsy bookmail! I reckon I'm going to have read the bandit queens section for the weekend and have already read Birnham Wood so am feeling pretty confident in my participation this year!
Really enjoyed this one, felt all three storylines worked and added to the overall book.
I had so much fun coming up with 6 (had a much longer longlist!), and am loving looking at everyone's picks! Looking forward to camp! Thank you for your organisation and counselling skills @BarbaraBB @squirrelbrain @Megabooks #camplitsy2023 #camplitsy #camplitsy23
Thanks so much @monalyisha for organising and @Larkken for the reading list! I love this idea and will be continuing reading throughout the year! I'm currently reading the tagged book on kindle, and bought the top 4 this month :-) I didn't have a great reading month, so just ended up re-reading (and buying as my previous read of it was via audiobook) Bunny which I love! Thank you again #auldlangspine
Just back from a few days away for New Year and return to such pretty cards - thank you friends, and for the bookmark Jenny! I think I'm going to ignore the 12th night rule so I can keep them up for longer :-)
@rockpools @RaeLovesToRead @jenniferw88 @eraderneely and Steffi - I have forgotten your username unbelievably as it's not the same as insta! 😘😘😘 hope you all had lovely breaks (and are illness recovered!)
Joining in #bookspin this year to try and get my kindle unread books down...! Thanks @TheAromaofBooks !

Not a beach read! But still a great one, and a fitting end to a messed up year in the world. One of my faves was The Frozen Finger. Here's to 2023!
Thanks so much Jo! @PuddleJumper beautiful gifts both wrapped and unwrapped! And thanks so much @MaleficentBookDragon Chelle for hosting! #jolabokaflod
Another 5 ⭐️ for the year sneaks in, probably really a 4.5 as I found it quite hard to get into but once I did... Plus I've finally finished work so am feeing generous and festive! Not what I expected which is always a treat. Read on kindle so pic of my parents' tree.
I agree with everyone else who has reviewed so far - love the characters, the humour, the gentleness, the satire. Definitely going to be in a fug working out what to read next. Ideas welcome!
And I know we aren't starting #auldlangspine yet (and I was reading this for a book club), but am very pleased it was on my match's @larkken list!
What do we think of the Booker Prize judging panel? I liked Washington Black, I have seen Anjoa Andoh act at the National and she was amazing but no idea what books she will like, and I'm a bit wary of Robert Webb... I've definitely heard of James Shapiro, I haven't heard of Mary Jean Chan. It begins! #bookerprize2023
Thanks @squirrelbrain Helen for the card and fun little parcel :-) Have covid, feel Christmassy 😀
Can I also very belatedly say that I posted my #jolabokaflodswap last Monday the 5th, I haven't seen it arrive yet @maleficentbookdragon but hopefully it will soon! Thanks again for organising!
Thanks @Larkken for my #auldlangspine list! Lovely to meet a new-to-me Litten and brilliant matching @monalyisha! Bunny I have read and loved, and the others are either exciting because I want to read them, or even more exciting because I've not heard of them! The tagged sounds brilliant - "Harry Potter if it was written by Kafka". Very happy, thank you!
The tree is up and my beautifully wrapped #jolabokaflodswap has arrived, thank you mystery Santa and to @MaleficentBookDragon Chelle for organising! X
Toby buys me a new bookshelf to tidy up the living room, I fill it, living room bookshelves still piled double.... how does that happen?! Pleased with my #smallpressshelf though ☺
Thanks so much Emma! I think I must have stacked this as a result of your review and then promptly forgot all about it, so a brilliant surprise! @Oryx 😘
Home from holiday to bday cards and gifts, thanks so much @kaysworld1 @squirrelbrain and (I'm guessing as couldn't see a name, ha!!?) @Caroline2
Makes the return far more cheery!
Thanks for all the litsy birthday wishes! I found this one on a leftover reads shelf in a hotel. I think it might be my first by the author and I will definitely read more. Great writing and characters. Perfect birthday - books, sun and sea :-)
My #lmpbc read is back from @jenniferw88 along with a lovely card and the tagged book from my TBR! Thank you! I loved reading your and Lucy's comments on An American Marriage and I will get yours in the post shortly @Mrs_B ! Hope you're both well 😘
Pleased with my postcards :-) #galleybeggarpress
Thanks @jenniferw88 for the next #lmpbc choice! I'm still working my way through your next one @Mrs_B (is a bit of a slog...!) But hope to finish in the next couple of days! This one looks great!
Love a whsmiths paperback airport exclusive...
@Mrs_B @jenniferw88
Any of these that you haven't read or that you fancy? Ward and Walker are essays/short stories. I probably have others on my shelf if none of these work :-)
24 hours in Bath, amazing bookshops and lovely to be reading Austen whilst here!
My #jolabokaflodswap has finally arrived - delay nothing to do with Trish, all Royal Mail's fault!
Thanks so much @Trishb, all perfect and an extra special treat for a cold, dark January (how can it still be January 😫) day! 😘😘😘
My #weekendreading and #weeklyforecast for the week
Continuing buddy read and a chapter each day of sense and sensibility, and a couple of library books. Tender I've started and I'm loving, intrigued by the blurb of the tagged book...
@Andrew65 @Cinfhen
Two kindles, a book and a phone with me at the hairdressers. Reading tagged book with the pigeonhole, Sense and Sensibility with #pemberlittens buddy read and Checkout 19.
#weekendreading @Andrew65
My first evening at home in what seems like weeks! Enjoying this slow exploration of a new relationship, attempting to unite two families, children threatening the new-found happiness of their parents.
Thanks Helen for the tag, finally got round to my #top21of21 though reckon I will only get to 75 overall so this is quite a large chunk of what I read! Haven't finished the tagged book yet but think I should and will definitely be in this list! @squirrelbrain
The Fell Sarah Moss
The Heavens Sandra Newman
Holding her Breath Eimear Ryan
The Promise Damon Galgut
The Searcher Tama French
No One is Talking About This Patricia Lockwood
