Here‘s my #bookspin and #bookspinbingo for December. It‘s a combination of Christmas books and presents still to be pre-read. 😂 @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks Sooo glad I'm not the only one who pre-reads Christmas gifts!! 😂 I have also literally received books from my mom before with a note that says, “You can't actually have this until I finish read it“ soooo 😆 3d
AmyG I laughed at “presents to be pre-read”. (I do that, too) 3d
MallenNC Yes to pre-reading gifts! How else will we know they‘re worth giving? 3d
BookNAround @TheAromaofBooks I got one from my parents one year that had no dust jacket because my dad threw it out when he pre-read it (after mom pre-read it first). And it was a signed copy. 😂 2d

I got my reading mojo back this week despite cooking for Thanksgiving, having all my kids at home (and being treated to my oldest‘s engagement news!), and walking with a friend almost daily. Of course, I did not touch the three books I‘d already had in progress, choosing to start new books instead. 🤪 #bookreport #weeklyforecast @Cinfhen

If you are a child of the 70s, this memoir will probably resonate with you like it did me. It was a serious walk down memory lane for me although there was ultimately little of a narrative here. Full review at https://booknaround.blogspot.com/2021/10/review-sting-ray-afternoons-by-steve.ht...

🦃October was pretty normal.

BookNAround @Cinfhen We Learnt is a memoir by a woman whose mother was a cook and father was a butler in a great house in England when she was tiny. Then they moved to London and things were tougher for them there. She evokes pre-WWII London beautifully but as the book ends when she and her sister are evacuated to the countryside, I don‘t think the title really reflects the book (it refers to the newsreels they saw at the MMC when they went to the movies). 2mo
