If you are going to set a book somewhere then visit. It is really inexcusable to get street names wrong or describe areas of a city wrong. Take a research holiday.
York is amazing, and so far I get no sense of that from this book. It's generic England!
Feb into March is a busy and draining time for me so I've not been reading (except TWD fix it fics) and I'm very behind on everything.
Also, I bought 8 Rick Riordan books impulsively because they were on 4 for 3. I'm doing fine! 🤣
#bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
This is a really interesting and well written book, it just didn't capture me
February #readordonate @julieclair
March is fantasy chunkster and One Piece for #roll100
I'm not sure if I'll read any of them. One Piece maybe as I can get through that pretty quickly. Feb/March tend to be draining months for me and not sure I want big books
March #roll10 picks are here! I went with a yellow theme as I'm hoping spring will come soon
Roll 1 = 79
Roll 2 = 48
Roll 3 = 67
February check in for #gottacatchemall How we getting on?
Congrats to @Jari-chan @Whollybologna @Laughterhp for catching their first Pokémon
Koffing is now the most caught Pokémon
The first in this series didn't grab me. I liked the artwork but the story was a bit slow and disjointed.
This was way too slow for me. I enjoyed the setting and the main couple but there was no tension, it just plodded on.
The 'plot' isn't resolved, I think it runs into the other books. I don't care enough to read the other books.
#readyourkindle @CBee
I like a good slow burn where stuff happens. This was just repetitive pining. It gets boring after a while.
Well I'm sold!
Gay Pride Shop is offering 20% off all books for LGBTQIA+ History Month
#ukdeals #lgbtqiahistorymonth
This was recommended to me so many times and I finally gave in and read it.
I was bored. It started off well and then just went down hill. It's not a good sci Fi book, it's not a good romance book, the erotica was fairly meh.
The main couple were boring so I may try another in the series to see if that was the problem
This read more like a a/b/o romance than a parody. I'm here for the parody. I don't care about this couple as a real couple.
I want Brad to be vindicated and for Devon to turn up.
I'm putting this as a pick if you stop about 80% in.
It's a fun satire that mocks romance tropes and has a 'real person' reacting to genre conventions that make no sense. Love that.
Then it becomes an a/b/o romance and I'm checking out. I'll read a few more because they are short and I'm coming off a migraine so my brain is dumb
I didn't fully understand all of the questions. I went through pretending it was a timed test otherwise I would over think everything and analyse the language used.
I don't agree with the cultural and eco feminism bits. I read through the descriptions at the end of the quiz and those don't align with my views at all
https://www.idrlabs.com/feminist-perspectives/test.php
This was like reading a speed run, there was no depth and no details.
Very disappointing
My list for #readyourkindle It's a mixture of work books and romance books.
I don't want to keep paying for KU so I need to read all the good books! 🤣

January #bookspinbingo
I read both my #bookspin and #doublespin
Pretty happy with the month even if some of the books were terrible
@TheAromaofBooks
It‘s nearly February already! I thought I‘d post a monthly check in to see how we were all getting on
Congrats to @TheAromaofBooks who is the first person to catch a Pokémon! They caught Ponyta and Lapras in January
How we all doing? Are there any prompts that are particularly challenging? Want any recommendations?
This series has gotten progressively more dull as it goes on. It relies too much on the soul-mate trope. None of the couples really talk, they're just perfect for each other blah blah
A plot was introduced in the second book and that has continued through into this one. Weirdly, the plot was a mistake. It makes the books more serious, I guess, or less romance fluff, and the author isn't very good at that.
This is a good reference book for mat Pilates. The sections on apparatus and small equipment are really not worth it. It's well laid out with clear instructions, watch points and photographs.
This was published in 2010 and it felt like an older Pilates book. There are a few things I wouldn't do as a teacher but I know I was encouraged to do as a student many years ago.
Got a few titles this month but otherwise sticking to the not naming books. It's working out better for me this way

Here are my picks for February #roll100
I already read The Christmas Jigsaw Murders so yay me!
I'm going to try and read Draakenwood since its a familair series that I enjoy. I've got A Million to One out from the library which was my January pick and I'd like to read that as well
This is my #readordonate for January. This has been on my shelf for ages and I keep starting it and stopping then ignoring it. It‘s become an obligation now which doesn‘t encourage me to read it!
Going to donate it and hope someone else will enjoy reading it.
@julieclair
January super-fast for me and I totally lost track of time! February is nearly here and with it comes the new #roll100 rolls
I wanted to go for a blue theme because February is usually cold where I am but I don‘t have many blue dice (obviously need some more to fill out my colour palette)
Roll 1 = 44
Roll 2 = 50
Roll 3 = 76
Tag me at @PuddleJumper if you want to share your reads!
A human with no filter and a lot of thoughts gets sent to be judged by the demon Minos. They fall in lust then in love, there are some shenanigans and fated loves type thing and it‘s all a bit of crazy fun
This was the weakest book by Alexandra Benedict. It wasn't bad, it wasn't good, it was very middling but it was an ok festive murder mystery
Kinky porn with feelings at Christmas
Porn but with feelings
This is rather clunky and the pacing is off. This is marketed as adult fantasy but reads more like a YA novel.
There is no subtlety at all and the characters are one dimensional. Much of the plot is predictable and there was far too much sexual assault for my liking.
I was going to use this for the AAPI square for #lgbtqia+bingo but decided against it because this isn't representation, this is fetishisation.
This isn't the only problematic aspect of the book. It's an age gap romance between a 37 and 21 year old. The younger MC is the son of the older MCs friends and he knew him as a baby. This is an instant no from me.

I was bored. I like my enemies to lovers with a lot less bitterness and toxicity
#doublespin @TheAromaofBooks
This isn't bad or good. My niece's favourite animal is the amur leopard and I was looking for books for her birthday.
This is a great little book that gives an overview, habitat, life span etc. I don't think you need the book, you could get all this information off of a zoo and print it off yourself.
I cannot find any information on the author or their qualifications. It could be a translation issue but this reads like it was written by AI.
There are consistency issues, the syntax is awkward and it's unbelievably confusing to read.
Onto the content of the book, what is this book? What's it about? Who is it for?
⬇️
Nope, I'm out at 5%. The writing is terrible.
This was a book I found through Kindle Unlimited and I can't find any information about the author and their qualifications.
The book is badly formatted. There are sections that just repeat what earlier sections say. This should have been tightened up into a smaller pamphlet style book.

The final results for #wintergames are in!
#snowflakesquad came second with a total of 541,774 points! Amazing! Congratulations to everyone 🎉🎉
@BarkingMadRead @Maggie4483 @Ash.on.the.line @Marmie7 @Nazgul93 @Crazycatperson @ImperfectCJ @Faranae
This is another one of those books that is all vibes and no substance. There is no real plot, no tension, and everyone is just so perfect it's ridiculous.
There were a few things that killed it for me. In one conversation Max is told about the children's domestic abuse trauma and that Targan isn't his boss.
⬇️
There is not enough new material to justify having it as a separate book. I counted about 40 pages of new content. Total rip off.
This is a training manual for a teacher training course the author is running. I would assume that the course goes into a lot more detail but I'm going to review the book that I have.
I don't really know why this is being sold on Amazon. It should be used for her training course and not available elsewhere.

It was pretty close between Iron Widow and She Who Became the Sun but Iron Widow won out
#2023readingbracket
It's the second in the series
#99ponkindle #ukkindledeal
It was a library book and a TBR book. I didn't manage to grab the Christmas book before the library shut.
I'm still stuffed full of cold, lost my voice and dealt with 4 moronic clients that are really too dumb to exist. I'm sticking with my sports romances this month. Yes, I'm very grumpy.
