I must say I was intrigued by this with the Netflix movie out and I'm glad I read the book. While the language in it is definitely not for the faint of heart, I liked reading with the stalker/killer's POV and what drove him to his madness/obsession. Yes Joe is crazy, stalker and obsessed with Beck. He kills people that are not good for her, he steals her stuff, he knows everything about her. Ending was not surprising. 3 stars.

I love Jacob's short stories and finally read a novel of his! I enjoyed this book very much however the ending was left wide open and disappointing. The story is about a man who refused to stand up at a baseball game and got in trouble with the law because of it. From there his life just spiraled downward to where he was naked in NY covered with poo (don't ask!). I needed more answers for the ending. 3 stars.

Love this comic and I can't stop reading it! This time around the girls almost have a safe adventure. They challenge the sasquatches to a game of roller derby so the Yetis can get back their treehouse. Doesn't seem dangerous? Oh but it is! Ripley as usual is the most adorable and lovable character in the book (ice cream and roller derby!) I really can't say enough about this comic!

Before I start let me just say that Darius sneezes a lot throughout the book and says “Um“ way way too many times! That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed the story. Darius is getting teased at school and feeling underloved by his dad. His grandfather has a brain tumor so the family goes to Iran to visit him. That's where the story takes off and Darius “grows“ up, meets his best friend and connects with his dad.

This was an interesting YA graphic novel. The artwork is pretty decent. Basically Maggie's mom left and previously she was homeschooled. Now she is starting school and a ghost keeps following her around. She makes some friends and somehow try to get her twin brothers not to kill each other. Okay ending but overall good story.

This one was okay. After reading French milk, it was more of Lucy traveling around Europe so more yummy food, wine, etc. Throughout she contemplates the title of the book and what it means. Like I said it was okay and interesting but not one of my favorite books of hers but I'm glad to have read it.

Possibly the best YA graphic novel I've read this year! The artwork was just simply amazing, stunning and gorgeous! It was outside the box and glorious! The story is about a sixteen year old girl who moves to NYC and is lonely and is fighting within herself with all her doubts and insecurities. However, when she meets new friends, it shows the wonderful transition of a backward teenager blossoming up into a very strong-willed girl. 5 stars.

This is the second book of the wonderful character Sunny. I love that it is dated back in the Seventies because it brings so many great memories when I grew up back then. Plus it's in PA which is even more awesome! Hello flashback of a trip to the Poconos! Anyway, Sunny is back in school and hanging with her friend but still misses her brother who is in boarding school. Always a good story right til the end. 4 stars.

As a fan of the graphic novel, I was ecstatic to see a novel version of Lumberjanes and I was not disappointed. Still had wonderful illustrations throughout the book to depict the new characters. This time around the girls stumble across a unicorn which leads them to a strange mountain. April is intrigued and wants to climb the mountain that doesn't exist on any map. As usual, the girls get in trouble and get themselves into a wild adventure.

Once upon a time there was a prince who loved to cross dress and his seamstress who didn't want to hide in the shadows anymore. I absolutely loved loved loved this book! I couldn't stop reading it and finished it in an hour. The artwork is stupendous and all the characters were great. I loved the dresses she made, how they were well connected and the ending was hilarious and sweet! Beautiful book.

This book was so good I couldn't put it down! It's about a girl who falls in a well and finds a ghost. The ghost follows her home and becomes friends with Anya. But things aren't as they seem. Great great story, illustrations and amazing ending. I was like wait what?!?!? Just a good read.

This was a cute graphic novel that is loaded with tips and tricks on how to do just about anything. There were a few that I didn't know about and would try. Like how to make perfect scrambled eggs (eggs have always been my bane) and how to whiten your teeth with a banana peel (yup going to try it!).

My first Joe Hill book that I've read and not the last. Great story and awesome ending! Basically its a story about an evil man who steals kids with his car through his mind to Christmasland. There is a girl who escapes from him and stops him from stealing children for a while. Long book but the story kept me interested all the way through. Very cool to see what was in Christmasland at the end, spooky murdering children!! All in all a great read.

Nice small quick read and freaking hilarious! It's basically a different view of how two dogs would be as middle aged men instead... he he... men running around the yard and pooping. I couldn't stop laughing at this gem of a book!

This has to be one of my favorite graphic novels for 2019. The illustrations are hands down amazing! Beautiful simply beautiful. It's a story about a girl in middle school who loves a boy and misses another boy who stopped going to school. She is trying to find her song and finds it with Maria Callas (who has an amazing voice!). We learn the history of Maria Callas and everything seems to flow just perfectly. 5 stars.

As usual, another hit. This time Lucy's story is about going with her grandparents on a cruise. She takes care of them all the way through and learns a lot about patience, etc. This book is really perfect for anyone who wants to know what it is like to take care of elderly family, not to mention with onset dementia/Alzheimer's.

OMG this is the tiniest Oatmeal book I have read to date and the cutest!! The dog is adorable and precious in this book (yes even when he is licking his balls). Such a great read. Even though I do not have nor will ever own a dog, I understand how dogs work and this book hit the nail on the head. I enjoyed the part where the dog is afraid to look in the cat's eyes. Yup so true. Perfect book for any dog lover.

Ah finally caught up on the series. This time around the Catstronauts sneak out to find their robot stuck on Europa. Chaos and adventure ensues with their robot doppelgangers and of course will Waffles make it through without eating 63 cans of tuna?1?1 Ha ha... great book, story and series. Loved every minute of it!

It was just okay. I didn't realize I got the fifth book in the series, but I wasn't a fan. The story was good but I had two problems with it: A. The cats and dog did not talk (seriously that is a big one for me when reading about cats adventures for children in graphic novels) and B. The shape of the cats and dog heads were just plain weird (triangle). I found the fart jokes funny and that's why I gave it two stars instead of one.
Two stars.

I must say that I enjoyed volume 2 more than volume 1. Probably because there was more of a story than violence after violence after violence.... Also two quotes from Game of Thrones! He he he he... This time around Gertrude doesn't stay queen for too long (she is most happy about that) and we get a new character Duncan (in a Dinosaur suit!!!) who seems to thwart Gertrude's plan of getting home. Love it!
I give it 4 stars.

Wow... What a great book to learn about France! I've always wanted to go to Paris and this book was a great stepping stone for me to learn more about it! Even though the writing was so small and it was hard to read, I did enjoy the pictures from her vacation and all of the drawings. Now I'm dying for a croissant and French cheese. Highly recommended read and I will continue to read her great books! I give it 4 stars.

I was never really into poems. I found this book at Goodwill and something in my head said... you should get this and read this. I was happy I listened to the little voice in my head. The poems were funny, dark and some disturbing... my cup of tea. No love and happy thoughts just weird little poems and illustrations I might add. I don't know if it's a book for everyone but it's for the weirdo in all of us.
I give this book 3 and a half stars.

wanderinglynn I love Shel Silverstein‘s books. ❤️ Where the Sidewalk Ends was one of my first introductions to poetry when I was a child. So happy you enjoyed it! 1mo

Drama | Raina Telgemeier

This was a cute graphic novel about a girl in middle school who helps out with the theater stage at school. There's angst love, confusing signs with the kids, jealousy, vanity... you know all the makings of drama in a middle school (not including the drama happening on stage). Poor Callie has the worst of luck with the boys but she makes it through somehow. Definitely worth reading whether you are in school or older like me. 4 stars.

I enjoyed this book and the story. Our main character was a kid in the summer who was bored and like to do stuff with his friends. A strange man moves into the creepy house next door to him and weird stuff starts to happen like people missing, dying or changing their personalities all together.Without giving too much away, let's just say the end was confusing. I gave it three and a half stars (half star for Star Wars references)

This was a cute story. A girl goes to Florida for the summer and stays with her grandfather. At first, everything is boring, but she finds a friend who opens her world up to comics. Great for any age to read. Deals with abuse, drugs, lying and how to treat people. Illustrations were wonderful as well. Happy ending.

I give it 3 stars.

This one was much better than the first volume because Cinderella fights Dorothy Gale from Oz throughout the book! Dorothy is a bad ass in it and it's awesome! I'm disappointed this spin-off series isn't continuing but there are more spinoffs to read. A good twist I did not see coming and I liked Dorothy minions as well. Excellent read!

As usual great story! This time around Pom Pom comes back from Mars to join his fellow crew on the Space Station. They are working to fix the telescope. Poor Waffles gets stuck out in space (the cutest thing about the book!). Of course, there is a happy ending and all is right with the world. The president does get under my skin though... I wish he would spill coffee all over himself again like he did in book 1.

So after reading Relish, I just want to read all of Lucy Knisley's books. That being said, no I do not have any children nor want any babies. This book was definitely an eye opener and interesting throughout. What she had to go through to get pregnant and then the issues throughout her pregnancy. I'm just glad everything smoothed out in the end and she has an adorable baby boy. I would definitely recommend this book to any expectant mothers.

This was July's pick for our book club. Really good story. It's a about a recently married couple that accidently finds a black bag full of money and other things. From there, it just gets crazier and crazier. You don't know who to trust or believe. The characters were great and I had to keep reading to see what happened next! Ending was great and not expected (yes I was shocked). 4 stars.

I love love love the cat that is always hungry. He is my favorite catstronaut. This time around there are three other cat teams besides the Catstronauts trying to get to Mars first. It's a great story about competition and working together as a team.

Wow... what a crazy graphic novel. First off, the graphics were drawn very well (beetlejuice anyone?). Second, this is a very bloody gory comic. Warning not for the faint of heart. Third the story is awesome! A girl falls into fairyland and needs to find a key to get her back home. 27 years later she still looks like a girl but she is not by all means. Great book.

Sigh... It's been a great run and series and I'm sad to see it go. I didn't review each and every book in the series because it would've sounded the same each time. That I love the book, the story, the characters, etc. This book made me sad for all the reasons why I'm sad when I finish a good book, show, movie, etc. All good things must come to an end but at least I get to read some of the one-offs that have floated around out there.

Ordinary people such as ourselves, chefs, journalists, musicians, etc. Wonderful photography. I loved Tony since the beginning and watched all his shows and read 98% of his books.I got to travel the world with him from the comfort of my home and learned about new food.

I enjoyed this book. At first it was slow but it definitely picked up pace halfway through the book. This time around Kinsey is working a case involving a 6 year old murder where the guy who got out of jail who murdered the woman is now going up against a civil case. A lot of twists and turns that I could not figure out the murderer until the very end when Kinsey figured it out. And of course, our poor Kinsey gets battered and bruised. Enjoyable.

Kaye I think this is the letter I stopped at when reading her series. Guess I should pick up where I left off one of these days. I don‘t read lots of this genre, but did like her books. 2mo

Based off the cover, I thought it was going to be a supernatural/horror book. Nope not at all. In a nutshell, a skeleton is found in a tree and the cousins and uncle who were in the house at the time are suspects So much irrelevant detail I didn't need to know. This book really could have been cut in half. Was I surprised at who the killer was? Nope. I was more surprised who set up the burglary/beat up of Toby and the Rafferty/Toby last talk.
