This month‘s #bookspin got me two crime stories set in Britonny. I really liked this one. I have a soft spot for sea-and-storm-stories and this delivered. I also liked the fact that it was a crime story that did not end with a big-bang-detective-in-danger.

Absolutely loved it. 100 recipes based on books and lots of personal stories of the author that makes it feel like a friend recommends this to you. The only problem is: It makes my tbr-pile as well as my to-be-cooked one grow.

My #bookspin for this month. Not the kind of mystery I usually go for, but I liked it. Cool storytelling and just when I started thinking where one line was going, a plot twist appeared, that made everything even more interesting.

I kept thinking this story was set in Paris and then I was confused when someone drove to the desert or a 20-year-old wasn‘t allowed to drink… Do you know this problem or is it just me?

I read this after I loved No Two Persons. I loved the food-content in this, but thought the characters‘ stories were less diverse than in NTP. But it was the perfect book to read one chapter before going to sleep.

This was my #bookspin for this month. I really liked the story‘s ingredients (woman pirate!) but it didn‘t manage to grip me for the first 70 pages. And while I still hate to not finish books, it feels like too much wasted time in which I could read a book I actually like.

Back to back review. It‘s only the 10th and I have already read both of the #camplitsy books.

This one really impressed me for two thirds. I am a romance grinch. I try it every now and then but mostly end up rolling my eyes over and over again. This, though, had a sound and drive that made me want to read more and more. Loved the workplace, loved the mail-trail. But for me the last third was a bit meh.

Read this for #camplitsy and oh, I don‘t know if a book has ever made me cringe so much. You just sit there and see all the bad decisions being made and you just have to read on. It‘s so recent and makes you think a lot.

Started this last night for #camplitsy23 and I‘m already 70 pages in. I like it so far even though I don‘t really like the main character.

I have updated my #bookspin-list for the second-half of the year (howww is the second half already starting?!). I made a 200-page-limit in my first list. But since I managed to also read the #doublespin a lot of times, and even managed a Bingo once, I dropped the page-limit. I‘m very excited for Sunday now! @TheAromaofBooks

Second holiday-read and this one was miles better than the first one. I love how Seethaler manages to create an atmosphere with only a few words.

Why do I keep doing this to myself. I start these kind of books because they have something to do with books/bookshops/libraries and then I keep on rolling my eyes and wanting it to be finished. But I still keep reading. This one left me with a lot of unanswered questions.

Loved this. It‘s very unagitated. But beautiful. The only thing I would have liked is to have a little bit more backstory from the photographer.

BarbaraBB This cover is identical to the Dutch edition of Stoner by John Williams. Weird!! https://images.app.goo.gl/PbMeDtddnk8Se7yy9 (edited) 4mo

Actually I should know by now that me starting a Netflix-series based on a book will end with me stopping to watch the series and starting to read the book. While I loved it in the start it got a bit superficial and fast in the last third. I am now also not sure whether I should read on in the series or try Six of Crows?

Was looking for a cozy mystery with a bit of gay romance. This was both but I didn‘t like it. There‘s too much information, too many people, it kind of felt overloaded. And it‘s not finished. Won‘t read the second part, though. On the good side: this was my #doublespin read. So I might go for the Bingo this month..🙂 @TheAromaofBooks

My #bookspin for March, finished just in time. And I am not sure yet whether it was a bit too much or just right. But I think it‘s a book I should have read instead of listened too. It felt nice but something felt a bit superficial and I can‘t really point my finger to what it was.

It was my 5-years-#litsyversary this week. And it‘s weird to think how different everything - my life, the world - was back then. But it‘s also kind of cool, because there is one thing that hasn‘t changed and that‘s me reading and loving books.

This one was a cozy mystery that makes you crave cookies. I saw most of the plot-twists coming before they happened. But there are cookie-recipes in the book and that is a new favourite of mine.

Read this as part od #bookspinbingo. I love her series with Tamara Hayle. At the beginning I wasn‘t really sure about the whole supernatural aspect in the story and having read it now, I kind of feel like there was no need for it. The characters are good, there are interesting side-stories (the cakes!), so in my opinion this would have worked without the glimmer.

When I watch dating-shows, I always laugh at those people explaining their „type“. But when it comes to books and I am honest, I definitely also have a type. Or a couple of them. And since I spent hours of my teenage years reading slash fanfiction, a gay highschool story is one of my types. So every now and then I have to dig in. This one was ok. And it was also my #doublespin

Read this in two days. I have to admit I am a sucker for the outsider-librarian-who-has-to -fight-against-big-businesses-and-her-past. Even though the plot id quite scrapbook-ish, the plot-twists weren‘t too obvious and I liked that it was a small set of characters and places.
