This Time Next Year
I'm also going to the library tomorrow to see if I can find more Christmas books.
I haven't done any comic book reading this month, but that will change today. It is a cold, "dreary" (I love cloudy days like this) day, so it seems like a great day to snuggle in my favorite sweater, sip a hot cup of coffee, and work through a stack of witchy and spooky comics. Time to rack up some points for #TeamHendrix!
4.75🌟 I absolutely loved this book. It is very poetic, and definitely requires a reader to just enjoy the ride and not try to figure everything out, but I found it to be quite lovely and fascinating. So much so, that I'm going to find a copy to add to my own library, since I borrowed this from my local library to read.
4.5🌟 This book was a fabulous creepy read. It has all of the magic and darkness one would expect from the title all wrapped up in a story that shows that it isn't always monsters that are the most horrifying. I think this book works well on its own, but I will definitely check out the sequel when it comes out.
#Screamathon - Challenge 2: Read a horror book by a female author of color @4thhouseontheleft
I watched the animated Addams Family movie today. As a huge fan of the TV show and the 90s movies, there is certainly a difference, but I think they did a good job approaching a new audience with it. I had plenty of laughs and hope the second one comes to Hulu as well.
4.5🌟 I've seen this recommended a bunch, and man, I see why. It had many fun moments along with a punch of feels. The art is fun, and while the magical lore of the world isn't explored in depth, it is still imaginative and rich. I read this book in one sitting, and I think I'm going to have to purchase a copy of it for my own collection.

4🌟 Read this short, spooky tale last night, and it was a fun bit of nostalgia. I'm pretty sure I had this book when I was kid; probably got it from my older cousins in a batch of other Berenstain Bears books that I know I got from them. It is an early reader, so it has a very simple text, but the images are super detailed, lush, and enjoyable. It is a fabulous spooky read for young readers.
5🌟 I finished this monster of a book, and I am so happy I have finally read it. It has definitely crept up into one of my favorite of King's books, and probably just one of my favorite books in general. Reading it alongside my re-read of the Dark Tower books has been an eye-opening treat as well.
#BookSpinBingo - square 19 (of course!)
4.5🌟 I truly enjoyed this 2nd book in the series. It has an excellent message against bullying and once again expresses the importance of being true to yourself. I've already put the 3rd on hold at the library so I can read it as well.
As luck would have it, this was my #BookSpin for this month! @TheAromaofBooks

4 ⭐ I really enjoyed this book. It had a dreamy, relaxing quality that, while slow-paced, actually read quite quickly, and I found myself immersed in the world that McKinley created. I truly wanted to explore Beast's castle and learn its mysteries. I was left with some unanswered questions, and the ending is a bit abrupt, but that isn't unusual for a lot of fairy tales, which is what this book is. ⬇
It has been a while since I've participated in #BookSpin, but I'm going to be back at it this month! I've even made my #BookSpinBingo board. This list also has my #Scarathlon2021 and #Screamathon TBR books included. I filled it full of books with supernatural events, magic, and spooky creatures. #TeamHendrix
My mom got me this adorable reversible plushie for my birthday, which I've named Nightshade. It has been decided by some of my loved ones that I should use it as a signal for people to leave me alone while I'm reading. I can just reach over and flip it to the angry side. My partner says if that doesn't work I can just chuck it at them. 🤣 Don't wake the attack turtle! 🐢
