I got myself a Paperwhite reader, and it is so much easier to read while eating and such. I've never been much for ebooks because looking at a screen caused eye strain, felt too much like work (I'm an editor), and I didn't seem to retain what I read as well. But I decided to try again (I had a Nook back in the day), and I haven't had any of those troubles with this reader. I'll always be a lover of physical books, but I love this too.

5⭐ While this book certainly made me think and discusses some difficult and profound topics (and even made me tear up a bit), it was a wonderful escape from the stresses of the world. I described this book when I was first reading it as a warm hug of a book, and that is still how I feel about it. I'm definitely going to have to add it to my personal library, so I can thrust it upon others to hear their thoughts. It is a book worth talking about.

Painted a simple little suncatcher while listening to Aurora Rising. I was on the fence about how I felt about this book at first, but the loveable characters have won me over. I went to the library to pick up a couple books I had on hold for book club and decided to look around while I was there. I might have gotten carried away. 😂📚

LiteraryinLawrence A similar thing happened to me this week! I came up to the circulation desk with 2 books to them also check out the 5 books on reserve for me. The librarian said something like “Oh good, you found more!” and I don‘t even think she was being sarcastic. 😋 3mo
Nelnjali @LiteraryinLawrence Love it! I don't think I ever grew out of the kid who'd come home with piles of books from the library by maxing out the number I could get. The books I read nowadays are just a lot bigger and more time consuming. ;) 3mo

3.25⭐ This was a very quick read and overall very enjoyable. I think it is especially enjoyable for those who have had to use Slack professionally, like I have. It fits firmly into the category of absurdity, but it also has some laugh out loud moments and some creepy moments. 👇

Nelnjali That said, l am a bit disappointed with it as well. This was a solid 4.5-5 ⭐ for me until the last 20-30 pages. The ending just felt rushed and tidied up too neatly, and there were many jarring questions left unanswered. I personally enjoy stories that don't tell you everything and allow you to make your own conclusions, but there were some things that were left too unclear. I really enjoyed it, but I'm sad that I didn't love it in the end. 3mo
Nelnjali There was also a problematic scene near the end that put a sour taste in my mouth. I really wanted to like the romance at the end, but the circumstances in which it comes out are very problematic and due to the rushed ending, the problems seem even more glossed over. 3mo

4.25⭐ This was a great break from the darker stories that have seemed to catch my eye lately. I'm a sucker for puns, wordplay, and amusing footnotes, so this book was made for me. Starting the day with the next book in The Wheel of Time and a cup of tea in a new favorite mug, and I was amused by how well the colors go together. A dear friend of mine had these made for our old D&D group and presented them to us in character, complete with excerpts from the "book" his character is writing about our adventures. It is one of the coolest gifts I have ever been given. ?

Nelnjali This beloved character was part of a series of campaigns that took place over the course of 5-years real-time and ages in game. My first, and possibly only ever, level 20 (max level) character. 4mo

4⭐ A great ending to an enjoyable trilogy. Not gonna lie, I was Team Nikolai for much of my reading, but Mal and Alina's love story won me over in the end.
