Nothing extraordinary by any means, however it was a fast past romantic thriller. Between the plot and the characters you didn‘t want to put the book down. It was an easy read with just enough “umph” behind it. I‘ll read more of her!

Absolutely, yes. This was such a quick read for me. I didn‘t WANT to put it down, I just wanted more. I felt for and with the characters. Character development definitely seemed to match the plot line. Honestly, just the way she wrote was enjoyable to read. Even better, it was my #doublespin for this month!
I struggled between so-so and a pick. It being quite a bit slower than anticipated was the deciding factor. I couldn‘t tell if the information they were giving me was always entirely relevant or not. I found myself thinking “..and the point is”, whilst convincing myself it would all come together. It was a good book, not earth shattering, but good. Definitely didn‘t need to be as long as it was. 🤷🏻♀️
Disappointed in my May progress. Where did May even go? 🤷🏻♀️ not sure it‘ll happen with the chaos of school ending BUT hoping for a better month in June. Here is my #bookspin #doublespin in no particular order, yet. The tagged book his literally been the longest revolving book for me..EVER. Hoping to make more of a dent this month and clear some of my bookshelf. Happy almost June!
There is something about her writing that I can‘t put my finger on, but I absolutely LOVE. I remember feeling the same after I read Daisy Jones and the Six. All I can say is, this book is a big yes for me. Scandal, heartache, success, lust, love and spice. This book truly has it all, including an out loud “whoa, didn‘t see that coming” moment.
I am SO behind on posting, well, anything.
I absolutely LOVED the After series. Good girl meets bad boy spicy romance with a good plot. The bulk of this is from the main male character, Hardin‘s, perspective. It just seemed lackadaisical compared to the original novel; rushed to get the whole story in. She put in snippets from other character views to try and piece more of the story together, but it just seemed displaced. This one was just ok.
First book of April complete. Perfect timing as I now start Spring Break! 😬😁
I adored this book and all the wondrous lives you get to live. Nora is a wonderfully conflicted and relatable character that you just root for. The writing light and engaging. I genuinely loved the concept and the journey.
Never posted my March #doublespin! I read most of Nick‘s works in HS, but I was sure that there were adult elements I couldn‘t relate to. This one DEFINITELY did. Without giving things away, I will say: I can see how people are mad about his decision, however I can NOT blame him. Can‘t say that I‘d be able to follow through 😭😩
March was my best month yet! 8 books, 2 of which were my #bookspin and #doublespin! Hoping April is equally as successful, but maybe add in a completed BINGO on my #bookspinbingo board!
This TOTALLY made up for the dud of my last book. Full of intense, creepy vibes and cleverly intertwined, yet unexpected plot movement. Revelations unfold and pieces come together, right up until the last page.
No. Just not for me. At all.
I found it wasn‘t just the “hermits” story; there were so many components NOT related to Knight that were just whole paragraphs of non-fiction, text book babble. That, I may add, were not needed and didn‘t add to the story, in my opinion. Also, I found it annoying how often Knight told Michael to leave him alone AND HE DIDN‘T. I applaud myself on not bailing, even though I was tempted. This was my #bookspin though!
Less redundancy than her last book I read, but still present. I HATE that she starts sentences with “and”. You can‘t get attached to characters because of lack of development..BUT honestly I was roped into the storyline. The historical side story interspersed and paralleled with her characters current situations was engaging. I didn‘t hate it and it was the perfect first, post surgery book.
Broken hand, post surgery, day 1. Got taken off teaching until first post-op appointment and was told to hardly do anything…don‘t worry doc, I have QUITE the TBR pile.🤦🏻♀️❤️🩹
Quiet afternoon means another finished book.
The idea of someone stealing your personal identity is already creepy; this suspense thriller takes it to a whole new level. It makes your skin crawl realizing just how easy it could be for someone to BE you. Yikes. Really well planned plot that just keeps moving. 👏🏼
Maybe it was the style of writing, but I could NOT tell the purpose of the book. The plot was so vague and mixed with how the story was told, I honestly felt like the book had nothing. 🤷🏻♀️ may be one for others, but lost for me. I dutifully finished my commitment to it in hopes of SOMETHING, but it never happened. Oh well, on to the next!
Extremely slow plot that didn‘t ultimately seem like it had a point. Two girls unsatisfied and feeling like life is unfair doing whatever they can to seek satisfaction and low key revenge by using and damaging others. It wasn‘t the worst I‘ve ever read, but definitely not the best. It kind of just was. 🤷🏻♀️
Finished my #bookspin #doublespin and #bookspinbingo board while baby Finnegan plays. It‘s the month of our Irish heritage..can you tell?! I‘ve averaged 5 books a month the last two! With no extra days off from work I‘m hoping to maintain progress! 🤣📚🧡
This book was on fire. 😝😉 It surprised the heck out of me. The writing was light and airy, relatable to real life. The data driven soulmate part was intriguing and made me question what the outcome of my husband and I would be 😬 A cute and heartwarming page turner for sure.
Bought this for my daughter and she came FLYING down the stairs saying “Mom, you HAVE to read this!” (Which is a victory in itself)
Read this. It will NOT disappoint you. You find yourself fully immersed, wanting more and trying to out the pieces together yourself. Just when you think you know, another layer is underneath. Two thumbs up on this YA.
Good storyline, yet entire pieces of it just didn‘t fit. The quick, out of the blue relationship, an entire family that was known about but never discussed and then comes home. 🤷🏻♀️ BUT, the premise of coping with a loss made you feel deeply and putting the pieces together of a “mystery” sucked you in and kept you going.
Sassy mug with my second HOT cup of coffee and a completed book. I love impromptu snow days.
A bit slow-paced but still a marvelously wonderful teenage romance love story. Not your typical fluff romance, it delves into rich, difficult topics and struggles that are faced even today. Delightful read!
Extremely glad for @DGRachel for recommending it to me for #NewYearWhoDis. Looking forward to some of the others!
A quiet, cozy morning around here let me finish this gem. Adorably awkward love story of two stubborn-headed individuals. It was equal parts cute, sassy and steamy. Glad I stumbled upon this for some February romance..I‘ll definitely read her others.
I forgot to post that I read another #NewYearWhoDis from the list @DGRachel sent me! This one was a little bit slower paced than I expected but still so very good in every way. Can‘t wait to get a copy for my classroom! ❤️
Just yes with this one. I love how TJ makes you fall in deep love with the characters. I love how beautiful he writes. I love how I become a part of his books and don‘t want to leave. I literally cried reading this one. I was SO happy it was on my #NewYearWhoDis list, thank you @DGRachel
Although I can understand why she was so closed off, parts of me got frustrated with Skye for not giving people a chance. But, one relationship changes it all; who she was, who she wants to be and all the relationships that she didn‘t think meant anything, but do. I laughed, I cried, I sometimes could relate. A great book of a woman‘s journey to self discovery at a later age. Proof that it‘s never too late to love! ❤️
I read this in my early college years and although I remembered it was good, I didn‘t remember the plot much. Turns out 10 years later, it wasn‘t as good as I thought. It fast moving, but parts of it seem scattered. The pieces that should tie together don‘t ever, really and then the ending was just like poof, book done. So, eh.
Books and baby toys run my life. 😅😂 I let my kids choose what books went on my list this month and in which order I read them. My oldest just happened to choose the book that was my #bookspin! Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised at the plot. Enough story for each character to rope you in and keep you hooked. Extremely fast read with highs, lows and steamy romance. I definitely wasn‘t disappointed. 👏🏼
A trip to the library secured a handful of my #NewYearWhoDis books by @DGRachel 😃 @monalyisha rest of my list was chosen by my children at random, making for an interesting mix of TBR‘s for this months #bookspin #doublespin #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks Now it‘s time to make my pretty BINGO board! 📚
Ironic that the “rock on” hands are for the pick, because this book truly rocked. It read like you were watching a documentary. It was real, it was raw and it placed you perfectly into the life of a 70‘s rockstar. I ate the characters, the story and the lifestyle up. What a trip this book was. 👏🏼
Another book off #AVeryMerryBingo, squeezing some in last minute! @Jadams1776
Sorry for the late count @Clwojick
Best week yet! With bathroom construction underway, seeing how well I can ring in the New Year!
#WinterGames2021 #MistletoeManiacs
I will always have a soft spot for Mary Higgins because she was the first suspense/murder mystery author I ever picked up. Quick read. The abductors make you shake your head with how juvenile and ridiculous they are and how kind they treat their abductees. Not an overly in depth/engaging plot but enough to make you keep reading. Another book bites the dust for #AVeryMerryBingo @Jadams1776
I enjoyed how this book focused more on Bebe, as well as Weezie, it added more depth/plot to the book. The focus on real life feelings and struggles made it more relatable and added to the book. Fast read overall between length and content. More points racked for #WinterGames2021 and another book off my #AVeryMerryBingo!
This was NOT my week. But that‘s okay, I‘m headed into Christmas break so the next two I‘m determined to SLEIGH! 🤣🙃
#WinterGames2021
#MistletoeManiacs
One of our family favorites! The bonus is that it is #TeamMistletoeManiacs team movie! Although it doesn‘t look very wintery outside, we are getting into the Christmas spirit around here🎄🎅🏼
Whoa. How moving. It is so hard to describe this book, just read it. I chuckled, I teared up, I felt rage. Talk about an in your face, make people uncomfortable when it‘s talked about it, book. So very good and worth every second❤️
Collected some words for #WinterGames2021 and Team #MistletoeManiacs. Plus, another book off my #AVeryMerryBingo! @Jadams1776
A book about the holiday season, filled with drama. Not bad drama, good plot/real life drama. You can feel for the characters and become attached to them as you read this story. Written in a lighthearted manner, yet tackles big trials and tribulations. Fast and engaging.
Another read done for #AVeryMerryBingo @Jadams1776
Improved from last week! My goal is to just make this number bigger every week! 👏🏼🙃 #MistletoeManiacs @Clwojick
Every year, every member of our family gets a new ornament. So, we have a tree just for those special ones! ❤️ Now, Santa and his helpers help make it extra festive with their smiles and the songs they sing (for real!🤣)
#FestivePhotoChallenge #OrnamentHunt #WinterGames 2021 #MistletoeManiacs
Finally got our Christmas tree on this frigid evening! #FestivePhotoChallenge #WinterGames2021 #MistletoeManiacs
What a day. I needed this chuckle. 😂😬#HolidayLaughs #WinterGames2021 #MistletoeManiacs
Week 1 of the #WinterGames complete with 2630 pts for #MistletoeManiacs
This book was cute, but just kind of was. There was good plot pieces sprinkled throughout but nothing that was drastic enough to hold the whole story. Super fast read and heartwarming moments. Another book done for my #AVeryMerryBingo board, too!
I am SO thankful they got back on track with the history/politics/caste system because it really adds a layer and ties in the fluffy, cute romance and the purpose of the Selection. Again, another super quick read and definitely worth it.
@TheAromaofBooks this was my #bookspin for this month!
Got to block off the Jingle Bells prompt for #Averymerrybingo @Jadams1776
#FestivePhotoChallenge, Day 2: Red and White
Bojangles the Elf is one of the most stressful part of the holiday season. Can‘t let the Christmas magic dwindle by not moving this gentleman 😅
@Clwojick
#FestivePhotoChallenge, Day 1: Red and Green
I made this cutie patootie Christmas bulb tree yesterday and am SO proud of it because I am definitely not crafty, ever! 🤣
P.S.: I just stayed up WAYYY past my teacher bedtime to finish my first #AVeryMerryBingo book and to rack up points for Team #MistletoeManiacs!
I‘m obsessed with this competition already.
#wintergames @Clwojick
I‘m honestly struggling to find words to put with this book. It makes you uncomfortable, it makes you want to keep reading, it makes you wonder. A lot of overlapping emotions and dynamics happening. The genre alone was outside of my comfort zone, but I‘m so glad I tackled this one off of my TBR list.
I am SO ready for December‘s events. I built my #bookspin #doublespin #bookspinbingo board based on #AVeryMerryBingo prompts, which will help with my Team #MistletoeManiacs and the #WinterGames. Whoa, look at all the hashtags.
Anybody have any good anthology, essay collection, etc recommendations..it‘s the only one I‘m missing?!
Happy Thanksgiving book nerds.
+35 for Team #MistletoeManiacs (commenting & TBR post!)
@TheAromaofBooks @Clwojick
So excited for #Newyearwhodis and the picks from @DGRachel I think @monalyisha did a great job with pairing and I couldn‘t be happier to be a part of the event for the first time! Thanks to both of you! ❤️👏🏼
Sequel to The Selection. This one got annoying to me with the main characters fickle love triangle. She got irritating with her lack of decision making. I found myself missing some of the underlying historical/political components the first book has. Hoping for better again with the next, because naturally I have to finish the series now 🤣
What a cute and fun, fluffy, fast paced read! I loved The Kiss Quotient, so I was eager to read this and it didn‘t disappoint. It makes you laugh. It makes you tear up. It makes you feel frustrated for/about characters, which is all too real with Autism Spectrum Disorder (which is close to my heart). Little bit of sexy, a lot of sweet and extremely heartwarming. This was my November #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
I had NO idea what to expect from this book. It felt magical, it felt real. I was encapsulated by the story and the writing was beautifully done. The entire book was a journey from start to finish. The characters draw you in and make you feel. Even though it took me longer than expected😅 what a great October #bookspin read! @TheAromaofBooks
