Wow! This year has flown by! Congrats to everyone who has finished November‘s words! It is exciting to see what everyone has been picking!

Now onto December‘s #WickedWords
- Holiday
- Snow Globe
- Ribbon
- Ice/Icy
- Glow

ANNOUNCEMENT: WickedWords will be back in 2024!! I am working on planning the words & trying to decide if I want to stick to random words or have a theme each month. If you had a choice (which you do) which would you like?

Read4life These look great! Thank you, Elizabeth 🤓. To be honest I simply enjoy this challenge and have no preference. If I had to choose… I‘d say theme. 2w
TheAromaofBooks I'm also fine either way. I enjoy this challenge and will definitely be participating either way!! 2w

These are the seven books I have come up with so far as options for The Midnight Society BookClub on Fable. Now I need help actually picking, lol! If anyone wants to help me either pick or narrow it down, I would appreciate it!

You can either vote by emoji or tagging the book.

Thanks for your help!

I started a book club on Fable! I thought it would be fun to read books that could have been told around the campfire by the amazing Midnight Society (aka - on Are You Afraid of the Dark).

I am currently trying to make a list of books that would fit that criteria. They don‘t necessarily have to be YA, because I am sure the Midnight Society grew up to tell darker stories.

If you know of any or would like to join in, please let me know!

Thanks!

Which one would you pick & why?

I would pick either:

Camp Crystal Lake because I absolutely love those movies and I never went to summer camp as a kid, so I would like to experience it.

OR

The Overlook Hotel because if I pick the right day and get snowed in, think of how many books I would be able to read with no interruptions!!

AmyG The Overlook. And only because I love Stephen King. 2mo
vonnie862 The Overlook because I actually want to stay at the Stanley Hotel one day. I've only visited it and it's gorgeous. 2mo
Bookwormjillk The Overlook. I would just ignore all the ghosts and eat ice cream and read. 2mo
dabbe Knowing about Norman and his ... uhm .... proclivities, I could be prepared and not take the room right next door to the manager's lobby. Any place with possible “real“ paranormal, I don't think I could handle. 🎃 2mo

I must say this book was not what I was expecting at all. It felt rushed and so much happened in so little time. I love a quick to the point romance, but this was a bit too quick for me. I was also expecting a little more steam, but this was a bit lacking in that department. I will say it is short, so it is a very fast read and was okay over all, just not what I was hoping it would be.

This book left me speechless… literally there are no words. It was incredible (as I knew it would be because Audrey is an amazing author)! I always worry about myself after reading her books because of how much I love them! She has a unique way of making the “villains” less villainous and makes you understand them and why they do the things they do. This is a good quick read, however definitely check triggers!!!

Yuki_Onna Thank you! 😄Already I have questions about #WickedWords😅
Do I need to read the book cover to cover or does it also count if I find the words in, let's say, a DNF or a book I read only a chapter in?
What do I do when/if I found all the words for a month? How do I check in? Do I need to list all the books I found the words in or can I just check in with a random post with the hashtag #WickedWords and tag you?
4mo
AsYouWish @Yuki_Onna Yes, DNF books count, so if you find a word on the first page and then don‘t finish the book that is fine. Some people wait and post all the words/books at once, some post as they find them, some post as they find them and then do an end of the month post with all of them to make sure I see them, however you want to do it is fine! Please either tag me or use the hashtag and I can get mark them off on my spreadsheet! Good questions!!💙💙 4mo

To be honest, I am not sure I was the right person for this book. It was very well written and enjoyable to read, but for some reason it didn‘t click with me. I felt myself confused at parts and trying to keep track of what was happening as the story proceeded. I liked the characters and thought they were enjoyable to hang out with and get to know. I would recommend this book to people who love a quick, dark vampire romance!

I have mixed feelings about this book. I really enjoyed it and found it to be a quick read. However, it felt a bit slow at times and I wanted/needed more action. I though the plot/storyline had great promise and while the ending delivered, I am not sure the lead up to those events matched the energy of the last couple chapters. Overall I would recommend because it was entertaining.

Dark. Bullies. Why Choose. All the makings of the perfect book, but sadly it fell short. I didn‘t connect to the FMC. I felt bad for her, but I never had that moment of liking her. Same for the MMCs, I did not love them. Usually I fall hard for the bullies, but I didn‘t get the bully vibe from them - stalker yes. They just didn‘t hit the mark for me. Overall it was well written & kept me reading, but would not be a reread for me.

STOP READING THE BOOK YOU ARE READING! You need to get a copy of this one & push it to the top of your pile! When I tell you I could not put it down! There were twists & turns until the last page, that I was not expecting. Every time I thought I had it figured out, I was thrown a piece of information that made me forget everything I thought I knew! I could rave about this book for days & it still would not be enough! Highly Recommended!

💙💙💙💙

TheAromaofBooks That is quite the recommendation!! Stacked!! 😂 5mo
Dragon Wow ! Gotta stack this one 💚🐉 5mo
AsYouWish @TheAromaofBooks @Dragon You will have to let me know when/if you read it. I would love to know what you think of it! 💙💙 5mo
Dragon Thanks 🙏 @AsYouWish - will do💚🐉 5mo

AsYouWish @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Question - I noticed tabs in this book, just curious how you tab your books? I have gotten a couple from Thriftbooks, giveaways, swaps, etc. and I am always curious how people decide what to tab? (I personally love it and makes me feel like I am reading the book with someone.) 5mo

Time for the last round of which ARC should I read next?! Which of these lines strikes you? Which one makes you say AsYouWish/Elizabeth needs to read this book right now?

Can‘t wait to see the order of the last two books! Super excited!

Thanks!!💙💙💙

Oh my stars! Where did June go?! Congrats to everyone who finished June‘s words! We have a few days left if you are still working on them. Remember there is no timeline, finish the words when ever you find them!

Now for July‘s #WickedWords
-Revolution
-England/UK/Great Britain
-Independence
-Villain
-Colonel
*Dragoon* - BONUS WORD

Yes, this month there is a bonus word! It was originally on the list, but felt it would be too challenging!

AsYouWish As always everyone is welcome to join in! Let me know if you want to be tagged in future months! Happy Reading! 5mo
TheAromaofBooks Yay!!! 5mo
Kappadeemom What the heck is a dragoon? 5mo
AsYouWish @Kappadeemom I was waiting for this comment/question! First you should know I am obsessed with the movie The Patriot, specifically the villain (please no judgements,😂) who was a Green Dragoon (a member of any of several cavalry regiments in the British army). I am also a history nerd, 🤣. This is why it is a bonus and not one of the actual words, because it was going to be tough to find - but I will be super flexible with how it is used/found💙😁 5mo

WOW! Looks like book 2 won by a landslide! Super excited to dive into this one! Then there are only two ARCs left before diving into my TBR pile and latest buys! May have to keep doing these first lines, because I don‘t know about you, but I am having fun having other people pick books for me to read!

Thanks to everyone who voted! See you again soon for the last vote!! 💙💙💙

“Josie, who‘d be covered in blood on the bathroom tiles in nine months‘ time…” with this amazing opening line, I was hooked. I needed to know who Josie was & why she would be covered in blood in nine months (not for the reason I was originally guessing)! This book had twists & turns I was not expecting & I really felt like I was there. Advertised as a cross between Almost Famous & Daisy Jones & the Six, this book did not disappoint!

dabbe This cover flips me out! 🤣👽🤣 6mo
AsYouWish @dabbe 😂🤣 I get that, I think that is why it took me so long to read it. Soooo good, though! 6mo

Looks like Book 1, was the winner! Super excited to read this one! Thank you for voting and helping me knock these ARCs off my list! Just bought 5 new/new to me books and bought a whole series a couple months ago, so need to get these finished up first!

Gerry the beloved patriarch of the Williams family has passed away and his loved ones and friends have come together to celebrate his life. When his best friend takes the podium to give a loving eulogy, he ends up revealing Gerry‘s biggest secret. As the family reels, they soon discover that they are all hiding secrets and some may change things for the family forever.

Time for the next round of which ARC should I read next?! Which line strikes you? Which one can you not wait to know what it is? Again all look super good, I just can‘t pick what order to read them in. You can vote for one or you can put them in order, I am open to all suggestions!

Thanks! Can‘t wait to see what my next read will be! 💙💙💙
