Can't resist sharing this beautiful girl's smile, as it always makes me smile. Jolene got a Christmas shirt from Nana on Thanksgiving and was so excited! Her joy is infectious. Hoping to spread some 2 year old cheer 🥰

Aaaand here's my #WinterGames TBR list! The font is tiny because I screenshot my spreadsheet and I know there's no way I'll read them all but I'm a massive mood reader and I need options! #SantasBookshELVES 🎄📚💖
Here's my December #bookspin list ready to go! Lots of buddy reads and lots of #wintergames ❄️💖🎄 Is it Friday yet?? 😜
@TheAromaofBooks #bookspinbingo
Maybe it was my mood lately but this one didn't hit as well as I expected. Two young teens spend the summer exploring the small town where they vacation and encounter adult situations and problems. A lot of angst and grief. I liked the art style and how it was done in all one color.
This was my November #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks
Just a reminder that I'm hosting the #HolidayRomanceReadathon starting Friday Dec 1st! Here's the bingo board again for those participating in the #WinterGames or anyone who just wants to play along ☺️
Tag me in your posts as you read, I love to see them! 💖🎄❄️
This was my graphic novel stack for the #Friendsgiving readathon. I managed to read the bottom two and get halfway through the others. Not bad for a busy week with family about ☺️
Thanks @Catsandbooks for hosting!
Hey Elves, less than a week until the start of #WinterGames hooray! Let's get to know our teammates - comment your answers below or share your own post, just make sure to tag us so we can all see!

Interesting & frustrating how the world is designed for men. The author explains how the male default bias affects women by not giving them effective products/services & can also cause harm. Everything from city planning to product design suffers from a lack of data pertaining to women. The gender data gap will take years to overcome, if decision makers even choose to address the problem. And the best way to start is by including women in planning
And here's another fun photo challenge #DecemberDreams hosted by the lovely @Eggs and @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks that can also be used for #WinterGames points

Happy Saturday Elves! Here is the #WinterGames Daily Photo Challenge prompts if you'd like to participate. Each post earns you 5 points and an additional 15 points if you read a book that matches a prompt sometime during the month. You can share multiple photos per prompt and a book read can count towards more than one prompt. It's pretty loosey goosey for as much as you want to track. Have fun with it!
I really love this series, it's so low angst and the characters are great. This one is Keller's story, who is fighting his attraction to his son's best friend. But when his son is moving across the country and Will doesn't have a place to stay, he can only offer to help. Not knowing that Will has had a crush on him for years.

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving yesterday if you celebrate! I got to spend time with my mom while she was visiting, my sister, and my adorable 2 year old niece 🥰
I very much enjoyed following along with Wilmet's life as she struggled with her restlessness. It was a relaxing story with not much plot but plenty of dry wit and humor. The characters were well-written and entertaining. I'm really liking Barbara Pym as an author, this is the second of her books I've read with the #pemberlittens
Thanks @BarkingMadRead for leading the #hashtagbrigade on this, I've enjoyed the discussions
Watching some Friends Thanksgiving episodes while updating my bujo. Yes, I still have all ten seasons on DVD. No, I streamed them tonight because I was lazy and didn't feel like switching discs after every episode 😅
#Friendsgiving @Catsandbooks
Here's my December #castthedie list @PuddleJumper
I have so many holiday romance books saved to my kindle unlimited list, this will help me narrow down where to start
I forgot to post that I'll be taking part in the #Friendsgiving readathon hosted by @Catsandbooks
My reading has been laid-back this month so I'm just looking forward to finishing a few graphic novels I have from the library and listening to some audiobooks while prepping my reading journal for #WinterGames
This is inspiring me to rewatch some of my favorite Friends episodes so I might do that as well this long weekend ☺️
Alrighty Elves, here's the official points breakdown for #WinterGames ❄️
Keep track of your points through the month, there will be two points check-ins where you'll submit your points to me so I can tally our team total. (Sarah- notice the dates have changed from what I told you before)

This was a well written story by this author duo. My rating is simply a reflection of my experience reading it. One of the main characters has some major mental health work to do after being in a toxic relationship (with emotional abuse and gaslighting) for years. That just hit a bit too close to home for me and it was a struggle to get through some heavy parts. But I finished for the HEA
One last #WinterGames post today - keep an eye out for the Christmas Ornament Hunt and share your finds for 10 points per ornament 🎄

One of my favorite ways to rack up points for #WinterGames is the #WGWordSearch - each time a word is found in your read earns you extra points. The search function for ebooks is very helpful and I've found using a tally counter app for physical/audiobooks is easiest but do whatever works for you!

Hey Elves! Here are some ways to earn extra points before the start of the month! A full point break down for #WinterGames is coming soon, but for now you can grab those early bird points by doing any of the tasks before Dec 1st.

Welcome to the team of #SantasBookshELVES 🎅🏼📚✨
I'm so excited to be your team leader for the 2023 #WinterGames
We have 2 team reads that you can choose to read for 50 points. I'll tag them in the comments. We also have a team movie this year and I selfishly chose a new favorite of mine that you can find on Netflix
These are all optional, let me know if you have any questions and start getting your TBR ready for this wonderful time of year!
This mystery was written in an interesting way. A lot of the clues were given to the reader early on while the characters had to play catch up. And Poirot only came into the story at the very end. Still an enjoyable read that kept me guessing at the murderer's identity
#SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView
My partner sent me this Instagram reel this morning. This word is so me and it's fun to say. According to urban dictionary it can also mean "to cuddle with, rub faces and noses with, and generally make a fuss over your pets" - which I also love to do. So snerdle is about to make a come back in my vocabulary ???

I sat down for one minute...
I guess chores will have to wait a bit. Darn.
This was a fun, dark fairytale reimagining. Princess Floralinda is trapped at the top of a forty flight tower, waiting for a prince to rescue her. But no prince has made it past the dragon on Flight One. It's up to Floralinda to venture down the tower and overcome the monsters on each flight on her own. The humor of the story was very cheeky and I loved the inventive battle techniques
Here's the bingo board to go along with my #HolidayRomanceReadathon 🎄💖❄️
Start looking at tropes and putting those library books on hold! Each book can only be used for one prompt at a time so choose wisely!
And if you haven't already, don't forget to sign up for #WinterGames for more festive fun next month! It's gonna be awesome

I don't know about y'all, but I am so excited for the holidays and I'm already planning my list of festive reads, stacked with all the romance! Hallmark movies are great, but cheesy holiday romance books are even better imo 🎄💖
So I'm hosting a #HolidayRomanceReadathon through the month of December. I hope you'll join me and tag me in your reads so I can add even more books to my TBR 😅
I've created a bingo board as well that I'll post soon
This author has officially become an autobuy for me. This book was so fun & sexy! Chandler has a one night stand that's the worst sex of her life, only to find out the guy she slept with is her newest client as a ghostwriter. When Finn finds out the truth of that night and is horrified, she agrees to give him lessons to improve. The communication around sex & relationships was so good & refreshing. Also great mental health rep with anxiety and OCD
We went camping this weekend and I got to finish this lovely book by the fire. I love this gang so much! I kept giggling to myself and was getting strange looks from the friends we were with 😅
The mystery was just as riveting and, combined with the short chapters, I blew through this story to find out how it ended.
#SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView
Such a joy to relive my childhood with this one! Haven't read this since elementary school and I loved reading about plucky Nancy as she solves her first mystery.
#NancyDrewBR @Librarybelle
Finished the last of this fantastic trilogy. This one has a completely different premise from the first two but features previous characters. I was so happy to finally get a story for Galen! The banter between him and Piper was so great. Honestly this one was way more character-driven than the last two but I really enjoyed it.

October Fiction #ReadingBracket2023 update
This witchy book stole the show for the month! But I can't choose between it and A Restless Truth just yet so putting a hold on that decision until later...
Here's my updated nonfiction #ReadingBracket2023 after October. The two books I finished didn't particularly wow me so September's pick is the easy winner for the quarter
Here's my final #Scarathlon point total. The word search game was my friend 👻
This is such a fun event, I had a blast reading some spooky books and managed to crush my goal of 31 books by finishing 33 and some short stories.
Thanks @Bookwormjillk for being our lovely #TeamBOOkLovers leader!
Okay I had to wrap my brain around the fact that it's somehow November??
But I'm ready for #BookspinBingo now @TheAromaofBooks
So close to completing the whole card but didn't manage to finish those last two in time. Still a great month! 🎃
#BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks #Scarathlon #TeamBOOkLovers @Bookwormjillk
This was a cute witchy romcom with ghosts and a haunted house and a small snowy island town. I liked how Riley was able to find her people and come into her power. Her relationship with Edison was sweet but took a backseat to the plot of the house and it's residents, which I appreciated. I really enjoyed the mystery of it all, I'll definitely continue the series.
#SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView
Ugh I almost bailed on this one a couple times. I am all for a silly romance but this one felt too cringe. The characters' fixation on how hot the other was and how much they wanted to bang each other was over the top ridiculous. And I thought the magic system was confusing and wasn't explained very well. Overall disappointing, the cover is so cute 😕
Okay add me to the long list of people who rave about this book. It was SO SWEET. It is the definition of cozy. I loved the girls, I loved the magic, I loved the romance. The conflict was there, but just low stakes enough to not ping my anxiety.
Just read this, if you haven't already. I'm so glad I own this book, I can see it becoming an annual reread.
Also I want some of Mika's tea ☕✨
Welcome to Nola. It's a city a lot like New Orleans, except filled with magic, music, and wonders. But as magical songs start to disappear, the city is in danger. It's up to Perilous Graves and his friends to rescue the songs before it's too late.
This was such a lovely adventure. It reminded me of the Phantom Tollbooth mixed with the Starless Sea. Definitely one to reread and get more out of each time.

This was a fun but dark vampire apocalyptic type book. Auggie is used to living in a town full of vampires. He's not used to them constantly approaching him, claiming that he's some prophesied vessel for the rise of a dark being. Now he's got multiple cults after him trying to get him on their side while he's just trying to pass algebra. And hows he supposed to keep his head when the cute vampires keep flirting with him?
Twas a hilarious adventure
When his brother Aidan goes missing for days and reappears in the attic telling a strange story about where he's been, Lucas doesn't know what to believe. The truth doesn't seem possible, but nothing else makes sense either.
This was an introspective story about family and faith.
#Scarathlon Book 28 #TeamBOOkLovers @bookwormjillk

This was a short, atmospheric novella about a lonely man who lives on the edge of the woods befriending the monster who lives within. They find connection through gardening and Ellis finds the courage to enter the pumpkin produce competition in the village despite his nasty neighbor's vehemence against it.

Happy Halloween from our taco cats 🌮😹
Three out of four let us amuse ourselves with the costume (grumpy Oakley was having none of it) but only Cam seemed totally unbothered and content.
