Got caught up on May's book blanket stripes while listening to my audiobook
#bookblanket #bookblanket2025 #readinglog
My weekly picks for May.
Looking forward to what June brings, and agonizing over which book to read next lol
June is heading our way at breakneck speed and I'm not sure how I feel about that, but at least I got my June reading list ready lol

I fell a little behind on my #bookblanket with getting ready for vacation and then actually being on vacation. But here it is after completing the stripes to the end of April.
I am also now caught up to today right now, so at least that's one thing checked off of my to-do list
May's mid-month #bookspinbingo check-in.
I've completed both the #bookspin and #doublespin picks and am having a harder and harder time choosing what to read next as my brain is all over the place lol
@TheAromaofBooks
April's board didn't get cleared, but I did get a couple of bingos and read both my #bookspin and #doublespin picks

Still can't believe I'm actually in Scotland, but I told my husband the one thing I wanted to do for me in Fort William was visit The Highland Bookshop. I got some JD Kirk prints and a copy of Bloody Scotland.
Threw together a last minute list for May.
Vacation is messing with my sense of time lol

Tire and oil change appointment means I take my Kobo and march to hubby's furniture store to wait and read while trying out a bunch of comfy chairs lol (the garage is only two buildings from him)
Fell a little behind in my book blanket but am now finished up with March and ready to add April's progress

Made (most of) a dinosaur while tagging along with Tallus and Diem's latest case
My April #bookspinbingo board
My #bookspin pick is Reading Between the Lines by Nicky James and my #doublespin pick is Series Love

#apriltbr
One more series checked off my list. It was fun hanging out with these characters while it lasted
#serieslove2025 @TheSpineView @Andrew65
Our weekly Sunday family drive includes stopping for coffee/a snack. So while my husband goes to get everyone's order, I get to read a few pages
I'm sad to see the end of Snow & Winter, but hey, I actually finished a series lol. That means I can start 3 more now right? Right?
#serieslove2025 @TheSpineView @Andrew65
Personally, I'd pay more attention to the second option lol
"It also calls for coconut milk, but I didn't have that, so I improvised and substituted Pina colada mix."
I live in a small (tiny) town, so I do my fair share of substituting when it comes to recipes, but I don't think I'd ever go that route lol
Taking an audiobook+crochet break before getting back to being a boring adult doing boring chores

my March mid-month check-in
I have completed my #bookspin pick and recently started the #doublespin pick. I feel like I may have more blank spots than usual this month because my brain wants to ignore this list for other books so we'll see

"This was real life.
And real life, when it wanted to be, was horrifying."
From Hatchet Hill (DI Haig Book 2) by David J Gatward
My February weekly Favorites. I honestly don't know how a lot of you can pick a monthly favorite, I struggle enough to pick one a week
#weeklyfavorites
Managed to finish one more book tonight which allowed me to finish filling in February's #bookspinbingo card
@TheAromaofBooks
My March #bookspinbingo list.
I nearly missed the post saying that the board would be posted early. I'd say because it's been one of those weeks, but realistically so far it's been one of those years 🤪. It feels like I barely have time to breathe, its go go go and there's always something
@thearomaofbooks
"I mean, if the world was flat, cats would have shoved everything off the end by now."
Had to read this one out loud to my husband when i came across it ?
Book is Burn It All Down by TG Reid (DCI Bone # 7)
"When someone dies, a library burns."
- Gatward is pulling out all the stops with this one. Made me stop and think that we do all have a library of life, and I think it's a pretty damn nice way to look at it
"Because grief is simply all of that love you have, but with nowhere foe it to go."
This one hit me in all the feels ... not sure if I like feeling all the unexpected feelings tbh, but it's a very insightful and true phrase
A couple of days late on my mid-month #bookspinbingo check in, but it's been a weird month (year?), and better late than never. Not reading as much as I'd like but still more than I anticipated, and I completed my #bookspin & #doublespin picks, so there's that
@TheAromaofBooks
My Saturday afternoon view. What are you up to?
One more books from this month's #bookspinbingo list complete. I love this series, and am only one book away from being caught up with it ... at least until the next one comes out
#serieslove2025 @andrew65 @TheSpineView
Another great addition to this series. Checks a box for #serieslove2025 and February #bookspinbingo
@Andrew65 @TheSpineView
Tried to read while Fenrir got a little stroll outside of his table ... didn't work. The little goober still won't stop only going places he shouldn't and trying to eat things that are clearly not food ... plus he got stuck under a chair. Oh well, I still love him, and at least he's cute
Going to start a new beanie while I try to decide which book(s) to start next
Anyone else get a silly high and big grin from swapping out their Kindle stickers? lol
The first month of my book blanket is all done. The two rows of off-white are what I'm using as a break between each month. So far so good on not giving up on it lol
