1. Not really... I speak English and French, both official languages here. I studied Latin and ancient Greek in school, but you don't really speak those... And I'm learning Korean but I'm very lazy about it and don't force myself to speak it 😛
2. I haven't so far but I just started Portuguese on duolingo in prep for an upcoming trip, so maybe this is the first time!

In case anyone else needs a waiting for election results distraction - or for non-Canadians, if your Monday needs some cheering up - have some sleepy cuddle cats.

I just finished the tagged book but don't really have my thoughts in order about it yet. Overall, probably a good book that's not quite my kind of book?

Karisa I had a hard time getting into that book. It felt like all the pieces were there but the world just fell flat. 🤷‍♀️ On the other hand, your cats are adorable! 😻😺 2d

Jaimelire I just started this book and am feeling kind of blah about it. Should I finish it? Elections were last night, I am not too surprised by the results. Should be interesting for the next few years. 19h
llwheeler @Jaimelire it was pretty consistent for me, the way I felt about it didn't really change throughout. And yes, true. 18h

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians! Hope you have had a lovely weekend. Mine has been great, low-key but still full of delicious food. And voting! I love voting in advance polls, so much less stressful with no crowds.

I'm back up to way too many books on the go again, but started the tagged romance anyways cause I'm feeling like I need a good, easy read.

Lindy Hooray for voting 🗳! I voted at the elections office in my riding because I am away from home during the advance polls and also on Election Day. 1w

One of the little free libraries near my house was vandalized 😞

Contemporary romances are not usually my preferred subgenre of romance but I've liked one of Kleypas' historicals so I'm thinking I'll like this book. I wanted to pick something up from there, and I dropped a book off too, to try and let the people who run that #littlefreelibrary know that their efforts are appreciated.

#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView

1. I have books I'm interested in but don't own stacked here and in a wishlist tag on Libby. I don't have a list of owned but unread books, I just look at my shelves. Sometimes I make specific short term tbr lists e.g. for challenges
2. Anything with a time consideration like library books or book club picks first. Otherwise, pretty much by mood.

Hoping this is pretty much the rest of my day. Unless I fall asleep lol. It's been a long day so far - good, but long.

I'm liking this book so far, aside from one repeated bit of misogynistic name calling that is rubbing me the wrong way. We'll see what happens, but either way glad to be reading one that's been on my tbr for years.

Very much enjoyed this book on cephalopods, blending biology, psychology, and philosophy - and learned quite a few new things! E.g. how their skin colours work. I would have liked a conclusion that brought more of the elements discussed all together, but each section was very interesting.

Fun afternoon at an etsy fair with @Andrea4 😁 Loving the necklace I bought!

(and while taking this pic, I realized it's been over 10 years since I last read LotR - how did that happen? - so now feeling a re-read might be due soon)

I may have just binged this pretty much cover to cover. On my phone, too (for some reason library ebook wouldn't copy to my kobo), and learned my phone will eventually shame me Netflix style with a "Zen mode" prompt ? This may not have helped my headache at all.

Definitely do not regret any of that! Really enjoyed! The 2nd of Rai's books I've read, this was similarly diverse and has chars dealing with some heavy issues. CW in comment. #romantsy
