I really enjoyed reading through this mythology book! I learned several stories I hadn‘t read before.
I really enjoyed reading through this mythology book! I learned several stories I hadn‘t read before.
3.75 stars for this book club pick. I didn‘t really like the short chapters combined with jumping between the narrators and constant time skips, but I did enjoy learning about these two women.
Larson never fails to provide a throughly readable and informative book. This one has the double honor of pulling me out of a reading slump, as it‘s the first book I‘ve managed to finish in a month… oops!
Book club pick! I really liked this one; though I didn‘t think the ending was very satisfying. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😭
Soft pick; the writing style didn‘t seem to gel well with the subject, especially early in the book. I did enjoy it, though! ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75
DNF‘d this one upon realizing I‘m not as interested in it as I used to be. Kind of sad, but oh well.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ not my favorite Backman, but still a good read! Parvaneh is the best
Most recent book club pick! This one had been on my list for a long time so I‘m glad I finally got to read it, even if it was… a little hard to read at times ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book. Why did I wait over a year to read it?? It‘s so good, I‘m blown away. Also, I‘m counting it for my march #bookspin and #doublespin, as both were to read any of my BOTM books that month! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This series has been on my list for ages, so of course I picked up the physical copy of this when I found it recently—and I‘m so glad I did! I love Murderbot so much, and this little adventure was such a delight to read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I thought I had this one, but Christie surprised me as always! This one is shorter than some of the other Poirot novels, but no less engrossing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Of course I love this. This is either my third or fourth read (I lose track), and it‘s just as magical and fun as I remember! So excited to discuss in book club tomorrow
Sadly this one wasn‘t for me. All the parts I didn‘t like about The Great Gatsby, but more boring. #doublespin this month, but at least I tried it!
My first read of Weir‘s fiction, and I sadly wasn‘t impressed. I did enjoy knowing more about Lady Jane Grey, but I found the writing just too modern in many places. Perhaps her later novels are better! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
And here‘s my May #bookspin list! I really need to finish the tagged (I‘ve been putting it off…) and the others are ones I‘m excited to read!
Finished my April #doublespin just in time for next month‘s drawing tomorrow! I‘m a huge Gaiman fan, so while I didn‘t like all of these short stories and poems, I‘m glad I read them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
And this is what I got from the #greatercharlottebookcrawl! I know you can‘t see all the book titles, but I wanted to show the pins too, lol.
Some members of my IRL book club and I—with @AmyK1 of course—hit 8 stores on the #greatercharlottebookcrawl today!! It was so much fun; Liberty Bookstore in Rock Hill was my favorite (not a surprise, because I went there in college and adored it). Haul in a separate post!
I was able to read this ARC due to working at a bookstore, and I honestly really liked it!! The romance was a bit TOO steamy for me (I prefer less sex scenes), and I found the love interest a tad possessive at times, but this book really made me feel things! If you‘re interested in an epic fantasy set in an original world with dragons and some steamy romance, check this out when it‘s released! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A soft pick, this book was for sure not my favorite. I strongly disliked Sadie and Sam, the two leads, while I enjoyed the writing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Not my favorite Gaiman work, mostly because I felt so bad for Charlie for most of it, but still good! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ With the usual Miller magic, I really liked this! Read during a slow half hour at work, lol
YIKES. This is badly written, poorly plotted, and somehow managed to make outlaws uninteresting. Not my first dnf of the year, but my first for book club.
So. Much. Fun! Sometimes it was a little hard to follow the action, but I really enjoy this adaptation of the podcast, which I love. Best part of this one: Angus, boy detective! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I picked this up when I was bored at work one day and I ended up loving it! Lily‘s story was so great to read, and I felt immersed in 1950‘s San Francisco the whole time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A book club read that, once again, is a hit! I don‘t think this is my favorite TJR, but I loved Nina as a character so much ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love these books.
Another stellar book club pick! Probably going to read the other two soon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A little later than usual, but here‘s my #bookspin list for February!! I‘m so excited, and I hope I can keep up my streak!
Finished my final #auldlangspine book at work!! I wasn‘t sure about it at first, but by the end I was rooting so hard for Mina and Shin!
@AbigailJaneBlog your picks were great!
Finished this stunning book last night, just in time for book club this week! This book made me angry, made me sad, and ultimately gave me hope ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
NO. Just so much no.
I only got through one chapter before I gave up, because this is just so IMMATURE. More sex jokes in a six-page span than I heard in several weeks of high school and college, and none of them even FUNNY, stereotypes that are borderline offensive, and writing that comes off like it‘s trying to hard. I know TJ Klune can write, so this one is a huge letdown. #auldlangspine
Finished this one while eating some leftover pizza for lunch! Not only is this my first choice for #auldlangspine, but it‘s also my #bookspin AND #doublespin this month! Great book choice @AbigailJaneBlog
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I think Jackson is becoming a favorite author; her stories never let me down!
I got this in my #jolabokaflodswap a few weeks ago and instantly started to read it! While a bit slow in places for my taste, I did really enjoy the mystery and the characters. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The three books I‘ve chosen to read for #auldlangspine from the list @AbigailJaneBlog provided! I‘m really excited about these, especially the tagged (which is also both my #bookspin and #doublespin this month!).
#bookspin list time!! I‘m really excited to read these, and some are my #auldlangspine choices for this year!
Thank you so much @mcipher for the amazing #jolaboksflodswap!!! I‘m SO EXCITED to read this book I will be starting it immediately. And of course, thank you to @MaleficentBookDragon for organizing this swap! I‘ve loved it every year!
My #jolabokaflodswap package has arrived!!! I‘m so excited and I LOVE the packaging
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ another book club read, though I was a bit slow with this one!
A low pick from me, as some of the stories were a bit lackluster, but a fun read!
Re-read this one for book club!! I love Christie‘s books so much!
Spent my morning finishing this historical read and hanging out with Terra! Following the life of a 8th-century woman who became Pope according to legend, this book was really interesting and well-researched—though I‘m still not sure Joan actually existed! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This one is another book club pick, and so far my least favorite, despite it being my pick! It wasn‘t as fun as I was expecting, and has a REALLY slow start. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75
