New Year Who Dis? | Bitchy Fits
post image

I‘m so excited about my #newyearwhodis list from @Read-y_Picker that I want to start reading immediately! This is what I‘ve picked out for January—I‘ve actually read Every Heart a Doorway, but I‘ve been wanting a personal copy, so this seems like the perfect excuse!

I‘ve never heard of Terra Nullius before now, so I‘m quite excited to give it a try, but I think I‘m most anticipating finally reading The House in the Cerulean Sea!

monalyisha Loooooved Cerulean! 💙 It was on *so* many lists this year. Enjoy! 6d

Sadly, I found this one to be pretty dull—I wanted to like it a lot, as it was my #doublespin for this month, but some things aren‘t meant to be.

The first time I read this book, it was 2016 and I‘d just finished my freshman year of college. Now it‘s 2021 and I‘m in the middle of my second year of graduate school—and I still really enjoyed this book! I completely forgot how it ended, but I did remember the mid-book twist, which made several things before it make much more sense! Glad I gave this one a reread! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Engaging and inventive, but I felt like I didn‘t know any of the characters—also not sure the interview format really works for this story. I felt removed and distant from the events, which is not something I like in my sci-fi. I‘m not sure if I‘ll continue the series yet.

JamieArc If you do continue, this series works really well in audio. I read the first in print too and thought it was just okay, but listened to the second two ans really liked the full cast audiobooks. (edited) 2mo
