I saw this book on the shelf at work, and knew I just HAD to read it with my mom, @AmyK1 We enjoy reading murder mysteries and talking about them together, and we both liked this one a lot! Now I want to go kayaking, lol. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Got this as an ARC through my job at a bookstore.
I enjoyed this book and found it quite funny. However, I did find some of the plot, especially towards the end, very confusing, which detracted from my enjoyment. I can‘t tell for sure, though, if this was a book problem or a me problem. I also disliked the fact that the MC was never given a name. I understand why Bradley chose to do this, but I felt more detached from the main character. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book is a real-talk, lighthearted yet serious letter to young black girls all over America, from someone who understands them. I‘m not the target audience, but I loved reading it and related to quite a few things! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

All three books in this series have blown me out of the water completely! I feel so much for these characters, and I‘ve loved this journey so much. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

LibrarianRyan yes. Have you gotten your hands on the short story that shows you the start of Aiden. I believe it is called Momento. It was originally a pre-order swag for book 3, but I think you can get it online now. 4mo
wideeyedreader @LibrarianRyan I have not! I hadn‘t heard of that omg 4mo
LibrarianRyan @wideeyedreader Yes It's less than 100 pages. It was a perfect little short story https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/55654594 It is before about how Aiden became sentient. You can only find it in print used, but it is available in print form a wide selection of platforms. It was originally only print and remained that was for about a year. 4mo
wideeyedreader @LibrarianRyan that is so cool! Thanks for letting me know! 4mo

3.75 stars for this book club pick. I didn‘t really like the short chapters combined with jumping between the narrators and constant time skips, but I did enjoy learning about these two women.

My first read of Weir‘s fiction, and I sadly wasn‘t impressed. I did enjoy knowing more about Lady Jane Grey, but I found the writing just too modern in many places. Perhaps her later novels are better! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was able to read this ARC due to working at a bookstore, and I honestly really liked it!! The romance was a bit TOO steamy for me (I prefer less sex scenes), and I found the love interest a tad possessive at times, but this book really made me feel things! If you‘re interested in an epic fantasy set in an original world with dragons and some steamy romance, check this out when it‘s released! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

NO. Just so much no.

I only got through one chapter before I gave up, because this is just so IMMATURE. More sex jokes in a six-page span than I heard in several weeks of high school and college, and none of them even FUNNY, stereotypes that are borderline offensive, and writing that comes off like it‘s trying to hard. I know TJ Klune can write, so this one is a huge letdown. #auldlangspine
