It might be my lack of knowledge, but I felt like I was reading another book set in England rather than India. I think I‘d like to read the original text instead.
#bookspin

KristiAhlers Some authors really rely on the fact India was a large part of the British Commonwealth to tell their stories. I‘ve noticed that in a few of the books I‘ve read set in India. 2w

I listened to this as an audiobook; and I‘m surprised at how much I enjoyed it! It‘s not my usual type of book at all, but Moon is so funny and the plot is actually one I could get behind—I actually rooted for the romance, which is rare for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Panpan

While the story is this book was good, it felt more like connected short stories than a novel. I also feel that the writing needed some help—I found many grammar mistakes, sentences that didn‘t make sense, confusing phrasing, and dialogue that doesn‘t sound human. The author‘s main mode of writing is poetry, so perhaps that explains some of this. ⭐️⭐️

I‘m kind of conflicted on this one. I loved a few of the stories, and the title novella is excellent, but some of the stories fell flat for me. I also can‘t shake the feeling that I‘m not who this book was written for. Evans is an excellent writer, this just didn‘t go all the way for me. 3.75⭐️

I was excited for this mostly based on the unique formatting and the promise of mystery, but I feel like the author relied too heavily on the format to make the book interesting and dragged it out far too long. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

#NYWD22

monalyisha The newest book in the series is hard to find, too, & it just came out! Or, not hard to find, exactly, but no local bookstores are carrying it & the scant few library copies in my systems (both the one I work in & the one where I live) are checked-out. I wanted to read it for my upcoming vacation, so I ended up ordering a copy from Amazon & having it sent to my Mom‘s condo. 🙈 Anyway, I love them. 💞 Glad you enjoyed your reread! 4mo
