Last day in my current job it was sad as I have made some friends there but my hours were greatly reduced so I had to look elsewhere and so I received the gifts pictured here.

The hairdryer because mine broke a few weeks ago and haven't managed to replace it. Also I was given £20 in a card which I bought a Waterstones voucher with so I can pre-order the next Six Wives book instead of just buying anything with. 😁

squirrelbrain Hope you‘ve got something else good lined up.... 2d

Thank you @TrishB for your extra copy of the tagged book. 😘.

You will probably get it before me lol as I have to be in the mood to read the books I read as I usually just go with whatever I fancy after I have finished a book. 📚📖

TrishB I‘m exactly the same! I probably really wanted to read it when I preordered - now it could be on the pile a while. 2d
DGRachel @Birdsong28 @TrishB I‘m so glad I‘m not the only one who does that. I have unread books on my shelf from at least two years ago that I was super excited about when I ordered them...🤦🏻‍♀️ 2d

Good. Even though this story takes you on a journey that you don't expect it takes a long time in doing so. Also even though Joanne Froggat is amazing as a narrator this story is so complicated that it is no good on audiobook (that is the version I read this on) as you will need to go back to see the connections as they are being made and go oh now I get it! #botmbuddyread

Very good. If Helen Fielding and Gill Sims had a baby it would be Jo Middleton. Humourous and a delight to read even if you don't have children of your own it still appeals to the modern woman and all the issues we face as it deals with modern life in such a fresh way you will see a little bit of yourself in Frankie whoever you are. Thank you #Readersfirst for the free copy.

Good. Even though at times it was difficult to read as sometimes the paragraphs didn't feel connected to the story. Also it was supposed to be that the storyteller was writing her memories of her time as a slave but my confusion was due to her when talking about these times using her own name so it was in the third person. Overall the story did give a insight to a horrible period of history.

Trigger warning due to the language used sometimes.

Currently reading the tagged book for a challenge and I have read other Andrea Levy books and absolutely loved them especially Small Island but something about this is just 'off' . She is using the main character as the narrator as the main character is recounting her life.

rretzler If I had given up on a couple of books after the first hundred or so pages, they would not have become the favorites that they are today! Some books aren‘t worth it until the end, but of course, there are some that are just blah! If I‘m not liking something, I usually just put it aside and read it over time - sometimes it can take years, but I almost always finish and rarely do I find that it wasn‘t worth it for some reason or other! 😁 2w
Birdsong28 @rretzler I would normally leave it myself and come back to it as I have done that with other books and have got into them but I am reading it for a monthly challenge i.e each month I read something that fits the criteria so I have to keep going with it as I don't have anything else that fits the bill. 📚📖 2w

Very good. Enjoyed this story as it shows a different side to a well known story as the main character is connected through her Grandmother to the sisters who were pictured with The Cottingley Fairies in 1917. Using original sources as research for this book as she interviewed Francis's daughter, it shows as it is written well.

Is this your package @RachelO ? Just letting you know as you said it was tracked postage so it should have been paid for, I don't want you to have paid and them saying you haven't.

RachelO Oh no, I‘m so sorry! I took it to the PO & they weighed & stuck the correct price on (it was just 2nd class so Qb). I wonder if it could have come unstuck in the post. I‘ve got the proof of postage/tracking number at home, but I‘m just off on my hols, so away for the next 10 days. I‘ll see if anyone can photo the details- if you want to leave it, I‘ll resend it if it‘s returned to me. Otherwise I‘ll refund you the postage if you end up paying. 3w
RachelO I‘ve been quite lucky with Litsy mail up until now - this is the first one that‘s gone pear-shaped in either direction. Give me a couple of days & I‘ll see if I can find a photo of the receipt. So sorry again Victoria! 3w
Birdsong28 @RachelO It's fine, I just wanted to check that is all as I knew that nothing else was due to come to me. I thought you would have paid for it, but it's only £3 it's not worth trying to debate with Royal Mail as I have tried to contact them myself and they never answer the phone/emails. Also I don't want to you stress about it whilst on holiday. I will pay, no need for refunding me. I am really grateful for your time putting together the package. 3w
RachelO Hi Victoria- I‘ve emailed you, but I‘m happy whichever way you want to play it. Take care x 3w
