Yesterday marked the 9th anniversary of my Dad‘s passing from Bladder Cancer. Like myself, my Mom, and my sister, he was a huge reader. Two of his favorite books were 2001 (his copy is shown) and The Stand (I had to buy a new replacement copy because his original copy had been read so many times it was no longer holding together.) I miss him everyday, but I know he‘s with me and reading over my shoulder. #alwaysinmyheart #neverforgotten

MallenNC I‘m so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad several years ago, but I love to tell people about him. It really does keep the memory alive. I‘m glad you shared this on Litsy. 1mo

Finished listening to this today as one of my books for the #24in48readathon. It was an interesting book that looked at the lives of a mother and daughter and the absent father‘s relationship with them. Really enjoyed the audiobook, not sure I would‘ve enjoyed the book as much of I had just read a physical copy.

Despite the high heat and humidity in the Chicago area, I made it out to Oak Park to visit the Ernest Hemingway Birth Place Museum. Learned a lot about the author and his family and got to tour a beautifully restored Queen Anne Victorian Hope. Will be working on a blog post about my visit. #ErnestHemingway

In recognition of this pivotal moment in the gay rights movement I listened to The Stonewall Reader on audio (would highly recommend the audiobook and this book in general). There are days where I really love my job, yesterday was one of those days. I got to spend 25 hours in New Orleans and I made the most of my time, going on a self guided literary tour. My first stop was Faulkner House Books. A bookstore in William Faulkner‘s former residence. So many wonderful books, many from local NOLA authors, and I bought a new copy of the mentioned book. #bookstorelove #travels

I finally got around to reading this book after having it on my shelves for seems like forever. I read this as part of a buddy read with @That-Bookish-Hiker and @hermyknee I found that I really enjoyed this book and it‘s take on the Jack the Ripper murders, despite figuring out the murderer early on, and I will definitely be continuing the series. I‘m curious what my buddy readers thought. #buddyread

Skygoddess1 @That-Bookish-Hiker Yay! What did you think? Did you find that you guessed who Jack was? Will you be reading the other books in the series? 9mo
That-Bookish-Hiker @Skygoddess1 I had three suspects but really I knew who it was because of how the person was acting. When I was partially through the book I didn‘t think I‘d want to continue with the series but after that ending I‘m very intrigued to see what happens in Romania. Are you going to continue with the series? 9mo

Yesterday was a rough day. I was supposed to work a trip that would‘ve taken me back to Omaha, NE today. This would‘ve been my first time back to Omaha in two and half years; the last time I had a layover in Omaha I was in a natural gas explosion at the restaurant I was dining at. I though I was ready to return, but upon arriving at work I had a panic attack and burst into tears. I was sent home and have been using coloring to decompress/regroup.
