I got a chance to visit a bookstore that I have been dying to see it for a while. It was such a unique experience. If you‘re ever in LA, I recommend checking out The Last Bookstore.

4.3⭐️ I can‘t even begin to tell you how many phone calls my BFF got because of this book. What‘s worse is the calls always started with something like “WTF” or “I hate her”. However, I‘m pretty sure the one that made her laugh the most was “if they‘re about to have a threesome I‘m nixing the whole damn book”. Overall, it‘s a good story. I‘m still not the biggest fan of the FMC but it‘s a good story.
3.6⭐️ this book was not what I expected, but I was ok. I thought it would be a little more intense, but it got me invested enough in the characters to continue with the next book in the series.
Have a read this story before? Absolutely! Will I read them again? Most definitely and probably before the end of the year! Will I ever get to book 3? Magic 🎱says “cannot predict now”
All right… Here is my official 20 reads for April. I am currently in the middle of both A Court of Silver Flames and Brutal Prince. My classic for the month is Frankenstein and Verity is my friends pick for me book for April chosen by my friend Kayla.
The premise of this book was great, but I was so bored that I couldn‘t even finish it.
Choices were slim pickings this month, but Emma was easily the best book I read for March.
Hello all… Sorry I‘m running so late with my reads from March. I did not complete any of my #Roll100 for March, but I added them to my April lineup. I completed my #DoubleBookSpin for #BookSpinBingo & my #BookSpin will be read in April as well. I know it wasn‘t the best month for reading because I got sick with pneumonia, but I felt like I did OK overall. I also had a little Ruby Dixon marathon, which was fun.
So February was an OK month. I was able to read 12 out of my 20 #BookSpinBingo pics for the month, plus 1 reread. I got one bingo this month, read both my #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin for the month. I also read two out of my three #Roll100 for the month, though I do plan to read the one I missed this month.
5⭐️ yes I‘m a Sarah J. Maas fan, sue me! 😁However, up until recently Throne of Glass was my favorite series. And while Manon is still one of my top-tier characters of all time, I freaking love the Crescent City series. I love all the characters, but I live for the power couple that is Bryce and Hunt. I really can‘t enough, and while I can‘t say for certain book 3 will be read by next mont, it will be read before the end of the year.
3⭐️ this one is a re-read. To be honest, it‘s not really good. If I could put it down, I would give it a lower score, but for some reason it‘s corny weirdness brings me some kind of comfort. It has to be the only reason I keep going back to it.
3⭐️ this book belongs in the category of “ what in the hell did I just read?”. It was graphic and pretty gory and really gross. But it had the affect the author wanted it to have so there you go. #BookSpin #BookSpinBingo
4.4⭐️ honestly, I don‘t know why am surprised I love this book. I absolutely love pirates, so it seems a bit obvious that this would be a book I enjoyed. Yet I was very surprised and pleasantly so.
4.2⭐️ I‘m not really into Syfy, but this was fun. Sure there was some pointless murders and tons betrayal, but it was still fun.
4.8⭐️so I had decided to read a bunch of short books in December to meet my reading goal; however, it didn‘t happen. So I moved a lot of them to January, and I still needed to move some over to this month. This was one of those books, and it‘s much better than some that I have read recently. While not a five star, it was excellent and looking forward to reading book two next month.
4.1⭐️ it was good, not quite what I expected, but that‘s OK. What drove me crazy with the continuous amount of the times the question “do you understand” was asked, because no, no, I really kind of don‘t. I mean, I get why it ended the way it did, and why certain events happened. However, I still don‘t understand the cause of some of the events, the decisions that were made, or why everything is being confessed now.
Oh, how I love this book. I have read it so many times. It is a little corny and cheesy but I‘m OK with this as this book, to me, has it all. It deals with betrayal, addiction, trauma, abuse, and healing, all wrapped up in a spicy little shifter romance. I will continuously reread this one over and over again! #LuckyInLove #FaceBodyOnCover
3.6 ⭐️ this is a pic, but barely. This was my #HometownBookClub book choice for the month, so it was read using Audible as this has been the groups preferred method. However, I wish I had the book in my hand so I could‘ve thrown it across the room several times. The primary love story was super cute, but the background story had me up in arms the entire time.
2.8⭐️WTF did I just read??? I don‘t even know how to describe this one, but seriously 🤮. I wasn‘t really a fan, and I will be unhauling this one from my shelves for sure. But it made me uncomfortable, which is what I think the author had in mind, so it did what it was supposed to do.
This is on my TBR for the month… but the #stars were perfect for #LuckyInLove tag for today
“Roseline Dragomir peeks out from her hiding place behind the altar, searching for the man who led her wedding guests to slaughter.” #FirstLineFridays
I have book one of this series on my shelf, I have just not read it yet in order to get to this one. Oh, but this quote… has that whole “burn the world down for you “ feel and I am here for it. #LuckyInLove #Dancing
4⭐️ this is a strange, brutal and bloody retelling of the little mermaid. It‘s not a book that‘s going to be for everybody, but it does the job and being somewhat creepy and making you ill. It‘s bizarre and this authors writing can be, while very very poetic, unnecessarily sesquipedalian.
4.8⭐️ there was a lot of hype connected to this book, so I went in with the expectation to be let down. Two chapters in, I was like great, here is more of the same thing. But I was wrong, and it was so good and so worth the hype. However, I refuse to read the next one until at least book 3 is out and we know when book 4 is coming. #BookSpinBingo #DoubleSpin
I know I‘m running late with this one, but I had a different idea. It will take some space, but I‘ve included a recipe for devil‘s food cake if you‘re interested. #LuckyInLove #Chocolate
Ingredients: 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter
½ cup (118 ml) whole milk
1 cup (236 ml) water
¾ cup (75 g) Dutch-process cocoa powder
1 teaspoon instant coffee optional, see note
2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour

Ok, looking up the quotes for this book has me really intrigued. This may be a read for next month. #LuckyInLove #Sunset
Anybody else adding new books to their TBR with these prompts. Here‘s another one I haven‘t heard of that looks pretty good and is now in my Kindle. #LuckyInLove #Bouquet
First, I didn‘t even know something like this existed. Second, kind of think it‘s bullshit that I‘ve never gotten one, just saying!
I have never heard of this book before, but the cover was so pretty, that I now own it. #LuckyInLove #Candlelight
Thank you @CSeydel , this was exactly what I needed to track the worst book that I read for 2024. January worst book was easy pick, as I was thoroughly disappointed in this book. #BookBracket #WorstBookOfTheYear
“Conscription Day is always the deadliest. Maybe that‘s why the sunrise is especially beautiful this morning-because I know it might be my last”.
#FirstLineFridays
I know this is technically two lines, but on did not feel complete without the other.
What cracks me up is I started both these books yesterday. Maybe I have the gift 🔮… lol, but for real these are both pretty good so far. #BookSpinBingo #BookSpin #DoubleSpin
While she may be know more commonly for the blue alien series, it‘s the dragon series that really gets me 😍🌶️. #LuckyInLove #Sultry
Choosing my top read of January was a little tough this month. I had three 5 ⭐️ reads that are each incredible in their own way. In the end, I choose Weyward. Not because it was better, more powerful or stronger writing then the other two, but because I felt a little more connection to it. #BookBracket #BookOfTheYear. FYI… I don‘t know who created the bracket, but thank you 😊
This has been on my TBR for a while, along with Me Before You. I‘m just waiting for a moment when I‘m I am more emotionally prepared. #LuckyInLove #HandHolding
4.2⭐️ occasionally I like to go into a book completely blind, just based off the cover. This, was one of those books. It was nothing like I had imagined it to be, but I was pleasantly surprised by the direction it took. I truly enjoyed it and I will will be on the lookout for other books by this author. #Roll100 number 78.
Completed both my #ClassicsCountdown and my #FriendsPickForMe last month, and looking forward to my new reads this month.
#BookSpinBingo hello February… I can‘t believe January is already over. By midnight tonight I will have 13 books read this month. Still didn‘t get a Bingo but I‘m pretty happy overall. Looking forward to another great month of reading.
4.3⭐️ I was introduced to Serial Reader @Roary47 which is what I‘m using to complete my classic countdown for the year. I really like how it breaks down the classic by issues that you read once a day. I have always wanted to read this book in super excited that I finished my last issue tonight. Looking forward to my next classic February.
5⭐️ this is a political, dark, epic fantasy, and it was freaking amazing. It was violent and bloody and brutal and sad. I honestly don‘t have the words to express how much I loved it. I will, however, be a little controversial, and say, I think this was so much better than a very well-known popular book, turned into TV show that everybody‘s obsessed with. My opinion only of course. I‘m looking forward to finishing this trilogy.
