Author's diary entries from ten-year long period up until pandemic started. We follow her through deaths of loved ones, and then pandemic and earthquake in Zagreb. It took me some time to warm up to her writing, but I ended up enjoying in her thoughts and observations. There's a moment where she travels to the remotest Croatian island, and the descripitons of that place were magic itself. It definitely ignited that old desire in me as well.

Here's a fun little quiz for you! 😅😅

Last summer after my best friend's wedding and a sore throat as a consequence I discovered joys of drinking tea in summer evenings. It never occured to me before to drink tea during summer, but it works so well, especially when you're in the garden and just chilling with your book and your magic cup. 😄📚📚🍵

JamieArc I discovered a few years ago that some teas that are normally just drunk hot are delicious on ice. My favorite iced tea in the summer is honey vanilla chamomile. 1w

It was a bit difficult for me to rate this book because there are some really interesting stories and lessons in here, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the previous one of his I've read, and I also know how popular this one is, at least in Croatia. Nevertheless, I still think this is an interesting read and I understand why so many people love it. If you want some life lessons told in a kind and friendly manner, I highly recommend it. 📚📚🤗

This book... I don't know what to say, the writing just goes straight to my heart. It's just brilliant, fantastic, and heartbreaking, and everything that one wants from a novel. I just want to sit with my thoughts now and think about this amazing piece of literature. I'm just not ready to move on with my life yet.

This Thursday was my last working day at my current company and there was somewhat of a goodbye party. My coworkers bought me the tagged book and this beautiful Marauders Map notebook. I also got a big box of chocolates, a card, some kind of graduation diploma that was quite funny, and a lovely rose. They really know me so well. 🥹🥹 Now, I have three weeks of vacation ahead of me before I start on my next job. 📚📚

Started reading this today for my book club, and honestly it is so good! I've listened to Perel speak a few times and loved her style, and it definitly transmits in her writing. It's really interesting, so much to unpack in just first three chapters, can't wait to talk about this in our next book club meeting. It's in a month, so I definitely started too early, because I'm gonna devour this one. 😅😅🙈📚📚

Bailedbailed

It's been a while since I've bailed on a book, but I just can't get into this one. I don't think it's bad, I simply just can't. And I did feel guilty at first bailing on it, because I so rarely bail on books, but it also felt good when I finally did it and just admit to myself I'm simply not vibing with this one at the moment. 🤷🏻‍♀️📚

This was so disappointing. The idea was interesting, it's magical realism which I generally enjoy, but the execution was just bad. I'm not sure whether it's the writing style, or translation, or both, but this was difficult and boring to read, and at times confusing. It's under 300 pages long, but I felt like it was 1000. It's a shame, because Barberry's Elegance of the Hedgehog is one of my all time favourites, but this just didn't do it for me.

Reading this after obsessing over #kanthony made me realize that I prefer a slow burn, I need them to pine after one another, I prefer that enemy to lovers trope. But, I liked this one the most out of the three books in this series, I enjoyed the character development, and unexpectedly for a romance novel, I cried during the last few pages. So, yes, I ended up really liking this.

Today I visited Memorial Center Nikola Tesla at his birthplace, Smiljan, a small village in Croatia's mountainous region called Lika. We didn't spend as much time there as I'd like, but I enjoyed the experience. It was a special feeling to go into his childhood home, his attick, garden where he observed nature, and to know that I'm walking the same grounds genius such as him once did. And of course, I got a bookmark as a souvenir.

zezeki Tesla himself was a great reader and his father had a personal library. Tesla would often sneak in to read because his father didn't want him read so much beacuse he was afraid so much reading by the candle would damage his vision. 2mo

What a heartbreaking story this was. There were moments when I struggled with reading, because it got to heavy for me, but I also couldn't put it down. Hey Littens, I wanna take a moment to celebrate Vesna Parun, most famous Croatian female poet, who would've turned 100 today. She lived exclusively of her writing which was a rarity. This is one of hers most notable poems. This is not the tagged book, but it's the same author. The one I read isn't in the database. The title of this one could be translated something like Devil's gotten into her, which is a common phrasing in my region when someone is misbehaving or being more lively. This was a collection of memories from Tisja's childhood before the war, written in our dialect. It was funny and sweet and the illustrations are lovely too. 📚📚

I had three hours to spare today so I went to the bookstore and managed to read this book. It's a beautifully illustrated book with little bits of wisdom inside, and I kept comparing it with The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse, and this one just didn't deliver in such a strong and touching way. Nevertheless, it's still a lovely and quick read.
