❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
So it's been a really chaotic month for me with the ups and downs. I needed just an easy sweet mostly happy book and then randomly came across this one. I loved the story and the residents of Dove Pond so much. It admittedly took me a couple of chapters to figure out who everyone was. It was worth it though I immediately found the 2nd book of the series to read next.

I enjoyed this one that I picked to start off an audiobook marathon that's going on in one of my book groups. Just a fun fluffy read. I loved the cousins together and Esme. It's just a standalone as far as I'm aware but I wish the author would write more.

Another busy month with my reading for May. I finished 13. I wasn't sure about the Vampire Book Club series at first but it ended up being pretty good too. My least favorite of the month by far was Nightfall.

Sorry i know it's not at all book related. It's a sad day here for our family. Unfortunately the family dog Lily passed away. Something happened with her very suddenly overnight. All of our furbabes deaths are really hard but it feels extra sad knowing she was young and it was just out of the blue. She was their dog but we all loved her very much. So I wanted to share one of my favorite happy picture of her ❤️

First the good is that the premise was interesting and it had a creepy atomosphere to it as I had hoped. Then i don't even know what the heck just happened. So many unanswered questions! There was a big buildup to what happens on the island during night. Weird things go on but never any answers. Then it just ended. If it would have spread out over a couple of books I think it could have been great. Unfortunately it just wasn't and was frustrating.

Here's how I spent my weekend. I had lots of reading and relaxing time. The dogs kept me awake while the storms went through. So I was able to finish these two books and write to a few #LitsyLove friends. I of course didn't crochet all those this weekend but I did quite a few. I hit my goal I decided on for this donation - 25 little hats and 3 bundle sets. They get donated to a group that gives them to grieving parents.

I think the story hit it's stride better here. There is a quick appearance of some of the knitting club and we are introduced to Biddy O'Donnell. I can't wait to see what the author does with her character. I also love the friendships developing. If I have a minor complaint then it would be that so far it doesn't really involve that much of the Vampire Book Club part of the title. I do love Quinn's character though and the mysteries.

I decided to check out this series by the author of the Vampire Knitting club next. I didn't love it immediately but it's growing on me. I did listen to the audiobook so I've enjoyed the accents. I loved that it includes a couple of characters popping in from the Knitting Club. This series follows a divorced witch named Quinn as she's sent to a tiny town in Ireland to work in their bookstore.

I was going to join in with the #PLC read along for this month but ended up adding this one to my 'Did Not Finish' list. I was excited for mermaids but this one just didn't work for me. I tried both the ebook and audiobook but that didn't help either. After 40% I just couldn't get in to it. I hope others enjoy it more.

"Sarah Goode didn't open her eyes when they began to test the gallows."

Spells Trouble by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. I've only read the House of Night series from them so I'm curious to check out this one. Randomly stumbled upon this one browsing the Libby app

ShyBookOwl I know the name Sarah Goode from the fear street books, so this immediately caught my attention lol 2mo
RedxoHearts @shybookowl me too! I've seen the name in a few books. Then one day I remembered she was mentioned in a paranormal investigation type TV show. I can't remember which one but it talked about the Salem witch trials and the Good family. 1mo

Now that's how you end a series!! The ending was perfect for the characters, tied up things and even maybe left room for a spin off in the future of other characters. In true Charley fashion there were lots of laughs along with plenty of emotion. It's been a long time since I've finished a series this quickly. Also have to say that the audiobook versions were well done as well...just with headphones or alone 🤣

I was really excited for this one because I love books written in letters, emails, texts, etc. However I had to add this one to my DNF list. Unfortunately the main character is so unlikeable that it's unbearable.

This month I've been reading the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones. I just finished with book 7 last night. Admittedly it's a bit...spicier than I usually prefer but I love the characters and storyline. If that doesn't bother you though I definitely recommend the series about a Grim Reaper.

It took awhile to process this book. I still am not sure what to think about it. I rounded up because it does it's job with being creepy and weird. It starts off with Jane eating her books when she's upset. The author did a great job at toeing the line of is Jane having a "breakdown" or if there really is something horrid happening in that house. If I would have had time I probably would have read this one all at once because I had to know.

AkashaVampie i just love this cover more and more when i see it. 4mo

I always enjoy Melody Carlson's books and this was no different. It's a clean Christian romance without being too preachy i think. I did appreciate a book with older characters with their own struggles in life. Willow with her family problems and George who deals with OCD. There was a lot of back and forth with the main characters but the find their way in the end.

I usually try to figure out where the story is going but I honestly didn't expect the things that were revealed. Looking back it all made sense but it was so well done. The story was fantastic and it really felt like you could so vividly picture what was happening.
