Interesting the feelings both girls had for the contest admiring and discovery. I actually really liked how this is written - also how many little girls wanted to be Miss America ?!

My June #TBR is ambitious with readalongs for #CampLitsy2023 (loving Bandit Queens so far!) #PemberLittens #SundayBuddyRead #DiverseCozy & #TitlesandTunes (the first 6 books). The bottom 4 are work reads for the 3 leadership classes I teach that are read in weekly sections. Finally the middle 6 are books I hope to read for SeriesLove2023 & other book clubs/challenges & just because. As usual I remain a moody reader & we‘ll see where I end up!😉
My current bedtime reading; started last night and pretty excited to keep reading!
Have finished Toast by Nigel Slater which was wonderful but also heartbreaking so it was an emotionally rough read. There‘s so much warmth in his food writing; his cookbooks feel like they‘re written by a supportive elder relative cheering you on in the kitchen.
It does also feel good to be reducing my piles (yes, piles, sigh!) of unread books.
It's been tough but I'm slowly getting through my Netgalley backlog 🥹🥹 it helps that I haven't requested many new #books 😂😂 next up will be these two audiobooks and then I'll finally sit down with some ebooks
Maybe I can get my score to 45% by the end of June? 🤔 🤔 #netgalley #tbr #tbrpile
