Cute and fun holiday read.
Read 12 books in November, which isn't bad considering I traveled home for Thanksgiving. I also had five 5 star reads this month (3 were rereads).
Obviously a tough read, but such an important one.
Here are the best books I've read each month, I can say with confidence that I know what my book of the year is going to be, I've read it twice this year and it's really stuck with me. But we have to wait to see what December brings!
Cute and fun holiday read, great for the start of the season. The male narrator is not great at female voices, so be forewarned (the female narrator was fantastic).
Another fun installment in this series.
Started off strong then waned about ⅔ in. Still enjoyable.
What a delicious, wild ride. That ending was unexpected and I‘m going to need Yarros to write a little bit faster. 😜
I have mixed feelings on how I feel about this one. Loved the podcast set up, not sure about the rest.
Finished my reread just in time to start the next book!!
I don‘t really have words for this right now, but I do know that this will make a most excellent book club discussion.
To be fair to the book if you like certain kinks you‘ll probably like the book more than me.
I read this over the summer and it really stuck with me and I was already feeling the need to revisit it. Did the audio this time which was amazing.
Quirky just like I like it.
I really liked this, but the fact that Alaric was a vampire was completely irrelevant as he was so “non traditional vampire” that he had no vampire qualities.
Ending was weird and not an expected direction.
Not my favorite Sager book, but will make for a good book club discussion.
I also didn‘t care for the narrator so if this book interests you I recommend the print.
Perfect October read. Loved it so much and can‘t wait to see what‘s in store for Glimmer Falls next!
I absolutely blew through this one. I loved the premise of the bet and all the things that came along with it, including lots of self discovery for both Lexie and Evan. Plenty of lol moments mixed in with some more serious ones.
One of the best Hades and Persephone stories I‘ve read.
And what happened to Minthe at the end was fabulous.
Such a wild ride. My only complaint was in the print book there are some sections of different font, but that didn‘t always come through in audio, so there were some issues at first knowing what was present/book.
My September reading graph is all over the place and that jives with how September rolled. Looking forward to a more settled October.
I really enjoy this series, and the third installment did not disappoint.
Really enjoyed this witchy book of discovering your true potential. Loved all the characters of Charming Cove and can‘t wait to check out the next one in the series!
I love a good plus size romance but at 20% in I found myself annoyed with both main characters. Angus has some kind of issue and gets unreasonably bent out of shape if someone does him a favor and Rose has clearly been living under a rock her entire life. Oh and Angus is a licensed therapist AND a licensed contractor.
A soft pick for me. It was whimsical and lovely, but I didn‘t fall in love with it like I know others have.
I really enjoyed this! A little twist at the end that I didn‘t see coming at all.
DNF 42% - Funny at times, but ultimately I‘m just not into it.
Such a fun and wild alternate history series. Instead of a democracy America has a monarchy, and the royal family has a lot going on. Plenty of drama in the style of a CW show.
I‘ve read a lot of thrillers this year and this one was just ok for me. I liked the twist but I didn‘t feel compelled to listen to it nonstop.
I really enjoyed this not quite a thriller but also not really a mystery. Told in a true crime style it was engaging and I had a hard time putting it down.
A delightful read with a little bit of murder.
Fascinating case from my hometown. It really shows how terrible mental health resources/systems are in the US.
I love the second gen Marked Men series and loved that this one crossed over with The Point. Couldn‘t put it down!
I just cannot get into this.
Really enjoyed this, though I didn‘t realize it was the start of a series so was kind of bummed that I don‘t get a full conclusion.
This series has an over arching story and that‘s really why I toughed this one out. The last 20% had more plot things going on that will lead to the next step but it took forever and ever to get there.
This is not part of my rating as it‘s a matter of personal preference, but one of the sexytimes was not my jam so much so that it completely pulled me out of the book.
Thoroughly enjoyed Delicious Monsters. Falls more on the horror side, but it‘s not too bad. Mostly I just didn‘t read it before bed.
Abby Jimenez always manages to bring the feels. I particularly identified with Jacob, as we share some of the same anxiety symptoms, though mine are not as significant as his.
I wanted to like this book more, but I just didn‘t.
1. There are only THREE chapters. This was tolerable in chapters 1 & 2 as there were natural breaks. But no such luck in chapter 3, which was seriously annoying.
2 the blurb didn‘t mention that over half the book takes place during the pandemic. While I‘m not anti-pandemic in books, it should be mentioned in the blurb.
It wasn‘t horrible or anything but I was very underwhelmed.
Really enjoyed this and can‘t wait to read the next one.
I started this ebook 9 days ago. And while I have had some things going on, Ive definitely chosen other things over reading it so I‘m moving on.
It‘s between a pick and so-so, so I‘m giving it the pick. I‘m not a big historical fan so that could be why I feel this way.
Edit: after further consideration it‘s really just so-so
