This book needs to be read with audiobook or in that format. At the beginning was ok but then it intrigued me.A sad story with an unwanted ending but it is what we usually see in social reality. Writing format was so creative. However, I don't think each narrator voice was a perfect matched with each character personality including Sadie's voice.I don't imagine Sadie with that voice tone.I know, sounds weird🤔3.5/3.6⭐️It was an ok YA thriller.

Tamra I think that is why I bailed on the audio. 4h

Thank you @Chrissyreadit for tag me and sorry since I saw it so late! Full moon has a magnetism that reunite everyone and awake the insane-sane part in us, the romantic side but also the wild one, it clears our path but with some mystery in it. I love it. In my runner group (I'm just an amateur power-walker) they call me Gisela Luna because when I run under the full moon I need to stop and contemplate it. It's the Muse of writers & readers too😍

Gissy @mabell Thank you! The story behind is that a couple of years ago, when I was more disciplined🙄we were in our way back to complete 10 miles and I just stopped in mile 7 because I just wanted to look at the moon reflected in Condado's lagoon. The group couldn't believe that I stopped them when they were just exhausted hurry to go back! Me and my little eccentric personality☺️Maybe that's why I'm not an athlete😂🤣 2d
mabell @Gissy I‘d say if you are running miles, you are for sure an athlete!! 🏃‍♀️ I looked up photos, and the lagoon looks gorgeous! I would have stopped to see the reflection too! 9h

Last book in the halfoweenathon but I completed it after readathon. My 1st King's book read👍In my opinion, horror part was in the last 30 pages but movie is scarier. There are very sad scenes. He made some social criticism about mourning and burial processes. Some scenes were too long.Character driven story. Very curious where the story idea came from.Author explained it in the introduction.I enjoyed it & motivated me to read more of his books.3.75⭐️

3rd book in halfoweenathon challenge was to read a book with movie adaptation.Movie was so different. I liked this ghostly story.I enjoyed very much how it was written, Arthur Kipp character was so well described on how he struggled between his rational and irrational mind? Supernatural? It was a sad story. I felt that I was in that house feeling that ghost.Story is slow not scary but more psychological? emotional? Book was received in swap3.8⭐️

Book 1 in the halfoweenathon there are 7 challenges but only 6 are related with books and you can combine the challenges. This challenge was to read a book that was not a novel. I don't understand the hype or high rating of this book in GR (4⭐️) really?🙄No scary for me and I'm a chicken. I only liked one story and one interesting idea for Halloween. But the illustrations are unique, well appropriate for the stories. 2⭐️for the illustrations.

LibrarianRyan I think because most kids find this book between 2-4th grade. And to many it is scary and creepy. It‘s not light hearted scares like Goosebumps. 3w
Gissy @LibrarianRyan it could be. You are the subject expert about kids books. I really enjoy your children books reviews. 🤗 3w
LibrarianRyan @Gissy thank you. I find this series is a nice bridge for kids tired of goosebumps but not ready for fear street. Plus when I was growing up goosebumps didn‘t exist. These did. They were about the only horror books for that age before point horror came out. But point horror was only popular because goosebumps took off. I‘ve been wanting to revisit this series with the new movie coming out. 3w
See All 6 Comments
JamieArc I haven‘t read these books since elementary schools, but they were the stories told at every sleepover, and we‘re super scary at the time. I would guess that a high rating is in part due to people being sentimental for their childhood memories reading them. 3w
Gissy @LibrarianRyan Maybe I was too "adult" in my review. I will wait for your serie revisit and comments ☺️ Now I'm reading a middle grade ghost book something like that. I just started it. The title is "Dead Boy". 3w
LibrarianRyan @Gissy let me know how you like it. I‘m always looking for mg and ya horror that‘s good. 3w

Book 12 in O.W.L.s readathon prompt was History of Magic=read a book published at least 10 years ago and why not ending with a re-read of HP book? physically and in audiobook. 5⭐️I'm not objective at all. Book 9 in O.W.L.s readathon prompt was muggle studies=read contemporary book-also discussed in my book club with author interview through Skype. This is how Micky Catalan became drug user/addicted/dependent. Author made a good research in this topic, you can see "criminal thinking errors" process to justify her behavior. Some areas were resolved quickly but author said had the purpose to bring hope. Usually I don't like this topic but it was ok3.4⭐️

Kaylamburson I'm reading this right now! I'm liking it a lot, but it's also making me so angry and sad. 4w
Gissy @Kaylamburson I experienced those feelings too. I think it is hard topic and yes so sad as soon as start it you see what is going to happen to her. 4w
Kaylamburson I know...I've dreaded the end from the beginning prologue. I didn't know what it was about going into it. Someone just recommended it to me and I mindlessly picked it up next time I saw it at the library. 4w
See All 8 Comments
Gissy @Kaylamburson Let me know your opinion when you finish it. 4w
Kaylamburson I've finished it. I'm happy with the ending that not everything is back to normal, but she has support and her future has promise, but I think I'm just like Carolina. I want to understand, but I just can't completely. The author did a great job showing how someone who is a "good kid" can get into a mess like this through "no fault of their own", but it still makes me so angry and I do still blame her. I'm trying to be empathetic and I'm struggling 4w
Gissy @Kaylamburson there were many factors of why a person can become addicted or drug dependent. In this case I didn't like that she was adopted because it could lead to some kind of discrimination but Mickey was lonely, it seemed she had a low self esteem, her parents recently divorced and she was still struggling with that. Her family had too high expectations about her. They worked with physical aspect but not the emotional one. 4w
Gissy @Kaylamburson It is like when two persons come from the same parents but one of them takes the wrong path in life. 4w
Kaylamburson Yeah, that's all very true. I do see why she was more susceptible. Just a lot of mixed emotions here. 4w

Book 8 in O.W.L.s readathon prompt was poison (mix of ingredients)=read a sequel book. I have to say that 2nd book in this trilogy is better. I can't say much without spoil the story but you will see more suspense, mystery and drama. Book 7 in O.W.L.s readathon prompt was Astronomy=read a book with the word Star in the title. I went blind to this book. I thought it would be a regular thriller but it is not. Something happened that will turn the story to a supernatural one. It was from so-so to ok. But it was entertaining. It is a YA which means that the humor & actions can be cheesy and silly, unbelievable, like ghostbuster. But I have the 3 books so I'll read them🙄2.95/3⭐️

Book 5 in O.W.L.s readathon. Prompt was Divination=read a book set in the future.Book has 2 time lines. Also book was discussed in book club. This is a dystopian novel where premise was interesting. It was like The Host were "entities" good & bad possessed person's bodies through "a feed"in order to have another chance. It was like a social criticism of the devastation of the world & humanity. However, it was confused & boring sometimes. 2.85⭐️

mabell Hi @Gissy ! I hope you get to visit London too! 😊❤️ What is your favorite food(s) to eat? 2mo
Gissy @mabell I almost like everything at least to try it but I like vegetables, chicken and seafood. I don't eat red or pork meat and I will try to eat less chicken and seafood, someday, not now☺️ My friends visited London almost 2 years ago. They went to a marathon there. I wanted to go but I couldn't due to work things😢 2mo
mabell My diet involves a lot of cheese, bread and creamy things 😄 But I try to make up for it with a smoothie every morning 😂 I hope you make it to London in the future! There is so much history there 😊 2mo
Gissy @mabell Yes, I hope too! Don't get me wrong, I'm over weight😳That's what I like to eat but I don't follow any diet. Due to the preparation of these audits we have been eating unhealthy things, not time to cook, well sounds like a good excuse ☺️ 2mo
mabell @Gissy Comfort food is always the right answer! 😂 2mo
Avanders Ooh fun one! & love your answers! ♥️♥️ 2mo

Mehso-so

This is the sequel of My Plan D. This is the story of Leslie, nickname Les who is the sister of the first book protagonist. We continue with the similarity with Jenny Han books. Too childish character. She has a relationship with a guy who in my opinion is a possessive person😡no too healthy in knowing what a relationship is. From so-so to pan. 2.5⭐️🙄Sorry, I continue in this stressful cloud so I need silly things. It will pass☺️

mabell I hope it is less stressful for you soon! 2mo

Mehso-so

I'm not exactly in a reading slump stage but I'm in an expected work stressful stage😱so I don't have much time to read😩I can barely concentrate or focus in my reading. So I chose this book which is a super cheesy cliche trashy YA novel. Too similar to All The Boys I've Loved Before, instead of letters she lost her list, how original🙄Some different minors things but the rest is the same. The worst part? I'm reading the trilogy!Nooo! 2.5/2.7⭐️

mabell Do you have to read the whole trilogy? 😆 2mo
Gissy @mabell No, but is here in my stack of books and I need something silly. My work is demanding sometimes. Right now I'm on my way to manage a situation. Tomorrow same thing 😳 2mo
mabell @Gissy That sounds very stressful 🙁 I hope this demanding time passes quickly! 2mo

Kathrine Switzer, first female woman participating in a marathon but she did it undercover, races were not for women in 1967!The race coordinator discovered her and tried to take her out, but she persisted! Finished it!Five years later other women participated in the Olympics marathon! There is a video showing her struggling to continue with the race beyond any obstacle!I wanted to share this with you since I'm trying to do another event, someday.

March 8th, a special day for all the women in this planet and I will say an include to all of the persons that feel are women."Well Behave women, rarely make history" I like this phrase, have confidence in yourself, be your own voice, be different, there are not cultural patterns to follow just because I'm a woman. Embrace diversity! My respect to YOU, the person, wife, mother, worker, and all the infinite roles you are and you do!?❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I just received this beautiful card from @Gaylagal2 with a lovely message? You didn't have to but I am grateful. I am happy that you liked the #CupidGoesPostal box. I love these swaps because is an opportunity to know new persons through the gifts we send after spending a lot of time "stalking" our matches☺️I am always nervous because I want that my match feels happy at the moment the box is opened. Thank you for this lovely gesture?❤️❤️

Gaylagal2 Ahhhh, Gisela it was my extreme pleasure! Your package to me was so touching and I will remember you, Puerto Rico and #cupidgoespostal everytime I read these books and look at my cute little stuffed doggie (his name is also Chico 😉)❤️. 3mo

Panpan

Book chosen in one of my book clubs. It is about good, bad and neutral aliens? Really? Such a bad story, it didn't make any sense to me and that ending😱terrible! I don't know what else to say1.5/2⭐️

mabell I don‘t think I‘ve ever seen you pan anything! Must have been very bad indeed! 😆 3mo
Gissy @mabell It was bad. I didn't know what was going on here. I couldn't go to the interview with the author but even what I heard the author apparently said was silly to me: three groups of aliens representing the good/bad and neutral people in the world!?what? At the beginning it seemed was going to be interesting, well grossly interesting because how these "things" killed people was so graphic and terrible. Then the story didn't make any sense. 3mo
mabell Yikes. Definitely sounds like something that wouldn‘t interest me at all! 3mo

IndyHannaJones I take it you aren't a fan of Welcome to Nightvale... 2mo
Gissy @IndyHannaJones Maybe😳It started so good but then I was lost. But I have to confess, this is not my genre, not now, I could say. But I'm always open and receptive to try again. However, this book is already in a new home were it will be appreciated more than in my home☺️ 2mo
IndyHannaJones @Gissy well, I just ask because their storytelling style is VERY unique and if you're not used to it then it can seem very, very bizarre. 2mo

Let me introduce you...my blind dates! The only one with good GR rating is the historical fiction one.The other one is a YA dark mystery novel & the Spanish one it's suppose to be a romantic, comic contemporary novel.I'm happy with my book dates! I probably go tomorrow with a friend and probably will bring 2 more dates to home!☺️It is a fun activity! You can always swap with a friend if you don't like what you picked. The purple one is a journal.

BookishMarginalia I miss doing that! 3mo
Gissy @Bookishmarginalia I can imagine. But if you want, just choose some books and I can send them to you. Melanie can take a picture. Just let me know! 3mo

Because I wanted a blind date!☺️ BookMarkPR displayed these mysterious, interesting dates. They were all around in a table looking at me and I said to myself, why not, let see what you got darling!🤔And I choose these three. Now I'm nervous because they can not be returned😬but I now they will be better than a real date😂🤣

JackOBotts Please share the reveals!!! I‘m excited. I‘ve never seen the #blinddatewithabook displays in my local bookstores, and it‘s such a fun idea. I‘m jealous! 3mo
jpmcwisemorgan I want to see what you end up with! 3mo
Gissy @JackOBotts I love that activity! You can always swap with friends if you don't like what you chose. In all the blind dates I had participated only in one occasion I didn't like the book but someone wanted it, so I exchanged it. 3mo
JackOBotts It might be a fun kind of swap to do with my book club, actually...or at least fun for me! 🤣📚🤓 Thanks for the inspiration! 🤔💡 3mo
Monica5 My public library did this last year and I loved it. Read some books and writers I normally would not have read.😉 3mo
