I didn‘t know that this book should be read after The Glass Hotel and Station Eleven because even though is not a sequel per se but it mentions characters and situations from previous novels. In GoodReads didn‘t appear as a sequel🤷🏽‍♀️I‘m not a big fan of multiverse topic, so there were parts where I lost interest but that is because I don‘t like this trope. I found it repetitive specially in those parts about Gaspery situation. 3⭐️

From the three books I read by this author, I will say I liked more this one. There were still parts I found repetitive or unnecessary. But wow! at the beginning it was like a flashback to the pandemic situation😳 There were sad parts as expected due to the pandemic situation. I think it was well integrated those elements of what happened in the past and the present through those interviews with Kirsten. I like post apocalyptic topics in novels⬇️

Gissy I liked the way the author described that chaos we expect in this type of topic.
Is there a movie based on this novel? If not, it will be a good for a screen adaptation. 3.8/4⭐️

I read three (3) novels for May #AuthorAMonth and I will say that I experienced a constant/the same situation in these 3 novels. Maybe is this author‘s writing style that is not completely for me. The premise is interesting, you want to keep reading, know more about characters but then during that plot development, I don‘t know what happened that I lost interest and found some parts boring. But then, you have an interesting ending.⬇️

Gissy I found all that Alkaitis drama (no spoiler) so interesting because is a matter of that criminal mind thinking process/dark side of human being. But then you have what happened at the hotel which I thought, really??? all that drama in so many pages and chapters🥱So, I was losing interest in many parts🤷🏽‍♀️The paranormal part was a little forced in my opinion. 3⭐️ 2mo

YA fantasy which was entertaining but with common elements in the story. Joan has power which she doesn‘t know until a situation happens. She is important to save her people. But in this novel, they can travel in time. There is YA romance🙄cheesy at the beginning. I will continue with the trilogy because I have the gorgeous sequel from FairyLoot edition😍To be honest, should be so-so but it was entertaining, I need it when I read it 2.8/3⭐️

Maybe I was a little disappointed with this novel but it was related with my expectations as a reader. I was expecting a story similar to Three Souls, which I loved, expecting same tone but it was different. Don‘t like much how that fantasy parts were integrated. But I still like this author writing style. 3.5/3.75⭐️

Narrated in two time lines. In present, Roya is in her 70s living in US. In the past, is almost 20 living in Tehran. She was happy, in love, engaged. But she was not accepted by her fiancée‘s mother and the political situation in the country was dangerous. What happened to Roya is related with family situation, drama, secrets, guilty debts that lead in betrayal, deception. A sad novel that shows that an emotional closure could be part ⬇️

Gissy (Cont.) of the healing process. I found the story so pretty. It is a slow pace read, character driven. Maybe Roya is a pessimistic, complicated character but she will transcend her past experiences. 4/4.5 ⭐️ 2mo

It was entertaining but maybe I was expecting more from the main character. I didn‘t like the romance in the novel, maybe because there is a conflict of interest? Too soon? The mystery was okay but the closure...too easy/convenient ? Abrupt?🤷🏽‍♀️ 3 ⭐️ But I will continue the series, I own already various books from this series.

Another hard/dark story. Hard to read because story has various triggers which were so descriptive.. I‘m not a fan of magical realism but author used it amazingly. Two characters connected in two time lines? Maybe...story use the concept of quantum multiverse. The ending was expected to me as I have seen in novels read using this concept. Beautiful and thoughtful lines even in those dark parts. Brilliant. Amazing narration by author. 4/4.5⭐️

Gissy First novel by this author. I bought 3 more books by her but this one was read for #AuthorAMonth @Soubhiville

Many topics discussed in this novel (culture, social actions, identity, etc) even the role of the reader in that wonderful quote by Marcel Proust. 4/4.5⭐️

Gissy @Sace It‘s good but I think you have to like magic realism and the multiverse concept. I‘m not fan of neither one but it kept my interest to continue reading it. Also, check for the triggers because it could be disturbed, uncomfortable, I don‘t know if I‘m using the correct word, for some persons. I liked the author as narrator in the audiobook. 3mo

#Women‘s Prize Long & Short List

The books I have read from the long list for the Women‘s Prize have been so hard to read, so dark, sad.

This one is a family drama/coming of age story, narrated in two time lines. Every main character has a dark side in terms that they are not who they project to others, they have secrets, they are full of lies, hurting others. There are some triggers here: suicide, sexual abuse. Some parts are so sad😢⬇️

Gissy (Cont.) But with hope at the end? Each character was looking that cultural identity. I really liked this one. Beautiful! 4/4.5⭐️ 3mo
