Not a horrible score, but not as good as last week‘s. 😂
3 faves:
🎶 Bennie and the Jets
🎶 Hungry Like the Wolf
🎶 No Scrubs
I hit the 70s, 80s, and 90s with these! 😃

I really enjoyed this fake dating, friends to lovers romance! I just wish it were more holiday-ish with more festive feels. Yes, it‘s set on a Christmas tree farm, but the bulk of the book was set before Thanksgiving. 🤷🏻♀️
The cover is really cute though!

#bookspinbingo - got another bingo!
Cute holiday rom-com!

This one had all the holiday feels! It‘s a great story about found family.

This was my first Unger book, but it won‘t be my last. I really enjoyed this! Excellent holiday thriller!

Enjoyed this a lot! A steamy holiday romance that also dealt with some heavy issues.
#christmasinjuly
#bookspinbingo - got a bingo with this one!
I forgot to play yesterday but better late than never, right? I did pretty well with this list! It‘s hard to choose only 3, but the songs listed below are absolute favorites from the 90s!
🎶 Come As You Are
🎶 Criminal
🎶 No Diggity
An enjoyable holiday romance! It‘s a bit repetitive in places and the word “magical” was seriously overused in the beginning, but as someone who has stayed at The Plaza during the holiday season numerous times, I couldn‘t help but like it!
#bookspinbingo - my #bookspin for this month
#readaway2024
#pop24 - book with 24 letters in the title
Learning French on Duolingo, and the unit I‘m currently on is about books, movies, and entertainment. Thought Litsy would appreciate a sampling of bookish French sentences! 🇫🇷
Pretty cute holiday cozy! I‘ve read one other in the series and I‘m sure I‘ll read more.

A little holiday-themed smut! It was short but entertaining.

I am by no means a big horror girl, but I was intrigued by this collection of holiday horror stories. As with most anthologies, I really liked some and there were some I just didn‘t get. But overall, I enjoyed it!

Of the 11 I‘ve read, I absolutely hated 3 of them. And there‘s only 3 listed that are on my TBR. The rest are ones I have no interest in reading or have never even heard of. So, I guess I‘ll just be over here reading my “non-important” books. 🤣
Chloe and Peter have never gotten along-a result of their parents long-standing feud. But when they learn that the mall in which both their families restaurants are located is slated for possible demolition, they come together to try to save their family livelihoods. This was cute but predictable, and I would‘ve liked more holiday festiveness. Soft pick.

Leila, I apologize for the super late response. I caught a wicked cold in Ireland and just haven‘t been feeling well, but I wanted to share! I did these Friends minis, plus more seasonal bookmarks. I‘m currently working on some Christmas cross stitch for #christmasinjuly. And this spring, me and my 15 y/o started making beaded bracelets. We go to a lot of concerts, so we wanted to try our hand at bracelets to give away. 👇🏻

Really enjoyed this one! Lots packed into this novella - festiveness and twists!

Cute Christmas romance between a successful artist and an actress (though some heavy topics are dealt with) and lots of festiveness! Cute cover too. #christmasinjuly

I‘m always up for a good retelling of A Christmas Carol. This one was cute, and I liked the gender swapped Scrooge character. Emma is a workaholic who always seems to push away the men in her life. On the verge of ruining another relationship, she‘s visited by 3 former lovers, who help her to see the error of her ways.

No #ispybingo for June. I‘m determined to get at least one bingo on one of these monthly boards before the year is over. It‘s a personal quest now! 😂
In keeping with my #christmasinjuly theme for next month, I‘ve chosen these two as my #readordonate picks! 🎄
I decided to do #christmasinjuly again this year! I had a blast doing it last year and it‘s a great way to make a dent in all the holiday reads I have. I can‘t wait! 🎄
Got back from Ireland yesterday evening and I am soooo tired! It didn‘t help that I caught a cold there, but I‘m trying to soldier on. I know I need to get my plan together for July reading goals…I hope to work on it this afternoon while I‘m lying around.

Will be boarding my plane to Ireland soon…hope to happen upon some bookstores while I‘m there! ☘️☘️☘️
Well, my results were pitiful, but it was still hard to pick 3 favorites!
⭐️ the Matrix movies because Keanu
⭐️ Shrek
⭐️ How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Tagging my birthday twin @Marmie7 (happy birthday!) and also new followers @readmyeyes @eskoch28 😀
What a weird little book. I never got invested because there was zero world-building, so I had no idea why these people were living in isolation. And I‘m pretty sure these people were not biological family, at least not all of them, so how did they end up together? Basically, IDK WTH I just read. 🤷🏻♀️ So many more questions than answers!
#bookspinbingo - this one at least got me a bingo!
Was interested in this after reading that it was a major influence on the original Matrix movie. And like the first few times I saw The Matrix, I didn‘t grasp all of it, but I did understand it well enough that I wasn‘t totally lost! Definitely see how groundbreaking it was when it was published in 1984. I‘m glad I read it!
#bookspinbingo - #doublespin for this month
#pop24 - book with a 1-word title I had to look up in the dictionary
Liking this series! When the best man is murdered at a high profile wedding, amateur sleuth Siobhán O‘Sullivan flies into action to help solve the case. There was a good cast of characters, not all likeable, but entertaining, and the killer was a surprise to me! Plus, I just love hearing the Irish accents on audiobook. ☘️
#bookspinbingo
#seasonalcozies
#tbrtarot - book with flowers on the cover
This seems to be an #unpopularopinion, but this didn‘t do it for me. This is another character-driven book where not much happens. It‘s just a bunch of privileged or bohemian people doing a lot of drugs and having a lot of sex. I need plot! Or some semblance of a plot. I would‘ve bailed but was reading this for #pop24, a book about a 24 year-old. I‘m just glad it‘s over.
#bookspinbingo
I watched Happy Days as a little girl and had a crush on the Fonz, and I‘ve enjoyed some of Henry‘s other work as well. This is a joy to read and he is such a great storyteller! I devoured this is one sitting - Henry kept me interested with stories about the highs and lows of his career, his struggles with dyslexia, and his home life growing up. Definitely recommend if you‘re a fan!

Probably a bit unrealistic but so much fun! Kinda had some Weekend at Bernie‘s vibes, but with female familial bonds. And I could not stop laughing during the scene where Meddy was trying to explain sexting to the aunties. 🤣

Loved it! I‘m not a huge sci-fi girl but this is my 2nd Weir book (also loved The Martian) so maybe I just love his sci-fi. Just a great read!

#pop24 - book set in space
I did not want to put this one down! It‘s a wild ride and if you like con artist stories, I highly recommend this one!

Happy Pride month! 🏳️🌈
18 y/o Bel and her family are the subject of a documentary, centering around her mother‘s disappearance 16 years ago, an unsolved mystery. As the title states, her mother reappears, alive and well, upending Bel‘s life as she knows it. HJ does a great job of casting doubt on all the characters, and I never knew who to trust, or even WTH was going on until close to the end…but in a good way! The last 1/4 was very twisty!
#20in4 @Andrew65
My goals for #20in4 are to finish my current read (tagged book), start and finish First Lie Wins, and to start Project Hail Mary (it‘s a long one, so just starting would be a win).
Since June is wedding season, I decided to go with this one for my #seasonalcozies pick, because I already own the audiobook. 😂💍
I normally pick 2 books each month for #readordonate, but for June, I‘m only committing to one. I‘m going to Ireland on the 20th so I want to keep my reading goals reasonable. I chose this one because of the summer-y cover!
