Salon reading! I‘m not getting anything done but my son is getting his undercut reshaved and getting the rest dyed pink.

Not book related but seeing Gaelic Storm in Kzoo tonight and they‘re PHENOMENAL
It‘s a snowy day here in Michigan‘s thumb coast so spending some time with the a new read, a heated blanket, and a (very large but yet very warm) puppy who decided she HAD to use my chair to watch the snow fall.
Enjoying a new read and a good hard cider at an Edgar Allen Poe themed coffee shop while the kiddo is at confirmation class? Heck yeah!
@Clwojick my winter games total is only 380 😩 sorry for being a terrible teammate! My son was in the hospital for a bit in December and is just now pulling fully out of being sick so I was reading and watching movies but STRUGGLING to track points/word search words.
They‘re playing the #TeamEvergreen team movie at the bar where I‘m passing time while my son is at orchestra rehearsal 😂😂 @Clwojick
Finally finished making my TBR for #wintergames that is doubling for my #castthedie list! So excited for Friday and ready to get those points for #TeamEvergreen!!
Not a lot of reading being done today (even though my book club meets tomorrow and I‘m only 2 chapter in 🙃) because ESPN is televising their first EVER regular season wrestling dual! And it‘s Iowa State vs Iowa so of course the ex college wrestler husband and I have to watch. Let‘s go Hawks!
Thanksgiving read while the hubs is at PT. He got cleared to unlock his brace today at his dr appointment so he can bend it and he was happier than a kid on Christmas about it. Honestly though, don‘t blame him at all
Making fabulous progress in this just by reading in various waiting rooms for the husband between his post op appointments and now physical therapy 😂
After a truly awful last 2 weeks of October I‘m back to posting on Litsy! Reading the new Royal Spyness while my husband is in surgery. He‘s having an ACL reconstruction and meniscus tear repaired since he tore them up this summer at some training for his job but since he‘s so used to knee pain he didn‘t think anything about it until it swelled up to grapefruit size.
My halfway points for #scarathlon are 20,475! Pic is of the decorations on top of our small bar we have in our living room made out of an old bourbon barrel. #TeamCreepinItReal @StayCurious
Watched all 6 Scream films in less than 24 hours! ‘‘Twas a true Screamathon. Totally loved them though nothing beats the original. #TeamCreepinItReal #scarathlon
I have read The Great Pumpkin to my son every year on Halloween night after trick or treating since he was born! He‘s an October baby so it started when he was only a couple weeks old (the only year we did it without trick or treating first). Can‘t believe this is our 12th year doing it. We always watch the movie after too. #sundayfunday
I‘ve been a bit in love with Steve since Ghost Hunters first aired so when I saw he had written a book I knew I had to read it! It did not disappoint! He‘s funny and his love for what he does really shines through. Super fascinating look into ghost hunting, the show, and a bit of Steve‘s background. Now time for a Ghost Hunters rewatch 😂 #31by31 #spookoween #falling4books #TeamCreepinItReal
You‘re getting a 2 book update today because BOY were the last few days full of insanity with having to take a dog to the vet, our truck‘s battery dying, plus our son‘s birthday yesterday. The Perry wasn‘t as good as others in the series but not sure why I didn‘t enjoy it as much? Probably a me thing. But the tagged? PHENOMENAL.
#scarathlon #TeamCreepinItReal #31by31 #spookoween #falling4books
First book for #scarathlon is officially completed! My first Kingfisher and I was totally enthralled! The perfect amount of horror while having some true laugh out loud moments to lighten the tension. #TeamCreepinItReal
2.5 hours for (oh boy I hope I get them all + the correct people tagged 😂) #readysetread #31by31 #spookoween #falling4books
Every year my son‘s online public school does an in person field trip to a Michigan cider mill and every year I take about 30 minutes away from the craziness to read a bit with a hard cider to decompress.
Behold! My watch list and tbr for #scarathlon. The first 13 books on the tbr are also counting for #castthedice with @PuddleJumper with A Life With Ghosts being my lucky book! #TeamCreepinItReal @StayCurious
Enjoying this gorgeous Michigan Thumb evening with a fire, a new book, and a hot cider spiked with some good whiskey.
Hoping to finish this fun read while the kidlet is getting his braces put on! Between this and the pup getting spayed the other day it‘s been A Week for us 😂.
Just picked up our Freya girl from the vet after being spayed so relaxing and recovering (and lots of reading for me) in our future!
Fighting a sinus infection but have our 5 month old puppy Freya sprawled over my legs and a good book in my hands so life is still pretty good!
Went to go run errands this morning and when I started our pickup it let me know one of our tires was slowly leaking air 😩. Hoping it‘ll just be a patch job, I REALLY don‘t want to buy a new tire right now since they aren‘t that old. Thankfully I brought a book to distract me!
(Hope it‘s ok that I play! But I love this idea!)
Thank God It‘s Friday by Ice Nine Kills (honestly all of INK‘s horror/slasher movie themed songs are legit)

Hey I‘m back everyone! It‘s been a crazy, no good summer for me after getting back from TX. My paternal grandfather died extremely suddenly at the beginning of July and it triggered a terrible reading slump for me as I‘ve been struggling to deal with the manner of his death and my grief. Here‘s hoping a fun, fluffy book while the kidlet is at swimming lessons will help!
Starting our drive back home to Michigan tomorrow (with a pit stop in Iowa at my mom‘s to pick up our dogs) finally! Had a really fun time here in Texas but 2 months is WAY too long to live in a hotel room and be away from home. Seriously going to miss having a drink with a good book by the pool though…
They finally got the pool fixed at the extended stay hotel we‘re staying at while my husband is in Laredo for work so can read poolside again!!
Mine and Bean‘s airplane reads! Finally landed in Houston but still need to catch our connection to Laredo to meet up with the husband.
80 degrees today on Michigan‘s thumb coast so enjoying my back deck with my current read and my all time favorite hard cider!!
It‘s snack time! Having some garlic salsa and some sour cream that has been mixed with Tajin seasoning plus some super addicting chocolately popcorn. #EasterOMC #EasterOMCphotochallenge
My TBR for the #EasterOMC readathon! I need to read The Night Watchman for my IRL book club but the rest are just for fun! #EasterOMCphotochallenge
I‘m super excited to join in on this marathon on Easter weekend! It‘ll help me get through a chunk of my library checkouts 😂 #EasterOMC
Ok Litsy friends! We are going to be in Laredo for nearly 60 days late April to mid june for my husband‘s job so looking for book suggestions that are placed in TX. I like cozies, historical fic and historical mysteries, and romance the most! Also looking for suggestions of fun things to do with an 11 year old! 2 months is a long time so will definitely need ideas 😂
Headed into Dearborn today to visit The Henry Ford to see the visiting Scooby Doo exhibit! I‘m ridiculously excited since I‘ve been a pretty hardcore Scooby fan since I was a kid 😂. A good mystery is the perfect read for the ride there!
So my husband is a huge scotch, Irish whiskey, and bourbon fan so for this #internationalwhiskeyday here‘s a photo of the bottom part of our living room liquor cabinet which is actually an old bourbon barrel! He says his favorites are Lagavulin scotch and most bourbons and Irish‘s. My favorite drink is my Bloody Mary recipe if I want a mixed drink or Blake‘s peach party hard cider!
For #nationalpuppyday here‘s a pic of my sister‘s 14 year old rat terrier/chihuahua mix Tinkerbell! She‘s an old lady but still a tiny puppy due to her size. My sister also wants me to make it clear that she was 7 when she named her dog as a puppy so no judgement 😂.
The tagged series! My auntie bought them for me in the mid 90s and I LOVED them. I‘m sure there are earlier ones but these are the ones that really stick in my mind. @ozma.of.oz #sundayfunday
Being a wrestling mom means being at a tournament 2 hours before it even starts for weigh ins and warmups. Thank goodness for books! Almost done with book three for the #BacklistReadathon and have book four in my bag! @Clwojick @TheAromaofBooks
1. Basil from The Great Mouse Detective, Meg from Hercules, and Belle!
2. The tagged would be super neat I think! Honestly I just really want a movie version 😂
Started my first read for #BacklistReadathon while at the vet with poor Roxie who developed an ear infection ☹️.
Waiting around for A‘s first wrestling tournament to start! He‘s all weighed in and practicing with his dad on the mat to burn off the nervous energy. Going to be a long day with lots of matches so glad I brought a book along to read between his turns on the mat.
Fall! Popcorn or gummy bears. Purples. Irises. Historical London or spooky houses. Peach mango Body Armor. Mass Effect trilogy or Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West for video and Trivial Pursuit for board.
2. Pretty Dead Queens by Alexa Donne then I‘ll start Lunar Love by Lauren Kung Jessen!
#WondrousWednesday
Behold! My Murder, She Wrote shelf and my plans for next week‘s #BacklistReadathon! Obviously won‘t get to all of them but hope to make a good dent.
Mysteries, especially historical ones! The tagged is the first in probably my favorite book series ever. A historical mystery series that follows Sebastian St Cyr, Lord Devlin as he solves murders in Regency London. Sebastian and his eventual wife (enemies to lovers trope!) are one of my favorite literary couples of all time.
Hair stylist reading! It‘s been almost a year since my last cut/color and I‘m in desperate need.
Me? Participate in another reading challenge? It‘s more likely than you think! I own three books of Fiona Davis‘ that I haven‘t read yet so that‘s who I‘m going to focus on for this #backlistreadathon. This is a double win as it will also help me work towards my goal of reading more of my own books this year 😂
Second book for #JumpStart2023 down! This book was so cute but with some of the best depiction of depression/weight of having to live up to a family name I‘ve ever seen. Honestly gave me a lot of Check, Please vibes! Also covers “a borrowed book” prompt for the #NoBuyChallenge2023 and FOUR prompts for #ReadySetRead2023 (a debut, sports romance, LGBTQ+, author‘s name has initials)
