My main #booksource is my local library! I grew up in libraries and believing in libraries as my aunt (who raised me and is basically my mom) is a librarian and is currently the library director at a library in Minnesota! Library Love is something I‘m trying to instill in my own child and, as you can see, I think I‘m succeeding! #30junebooks @howjessreads
1. Early 2000s alternative/emo. I feel exactly no shame though 🤷🏻♀️😂.
2. Summer! I can‘t handle being cold at all and I live in a beach town so all the fun happens in summer.
3. Cozy mysteries
4. McDonalds since the kiddo and I were on a walk and I decided I didn‘t want to cook twice today.
1. My husband gets home from Texas in 15 days! He‘s been gone for 45 days and we really miss him.
2. The rock band grandson. They‘re amazing! Blood//water and Despicable are my two favorite songs.
3. I had a real unfortunate bowl type cut as a 5th grader.
4. Video games! 🎮
5. Roxie squirrel watching (which woke me up WAY too early) and then her and Aiden taking over my bed!
It was certainly getting #hotinherre when Xbox had a surprise reveal at their E3 press conference that Keanu Reeves was going to be in the new video game Cyberpunk 2077! I screamed a little when the trailer panned up to his face and then he actually walked out on stage 😂. #songsofsummer @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620
It is absolutely #shocking that I mowed just last week and my yard was already so long I had to mow it again 😩. So now I‘m relaxing on my back deck trying to pick a book to read! #30junebooks @howjessreads
My #bookstack is made up of the Mass Effect books that I own! Mass Effect is probably my favorite video game series of all time and hearing the theme play over the main menu of the first game feels like home. The books are an extension of that world and are filled with lore and backstory. #30JuneBooks @howjessreads
To me, #summernights mean margaritas on my deck with a good book! Of course, I couldn‘t actually take this on my deck because it‘s raining again 😩. #songsofsummer @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620
It‘s a #cruelsummer for Eric Brewster and his friends when they find a stash of curious objects in a hidden room in Eric‘s summer house Pinecrest that lead to a horrifying series of events and the chilling truth about an event that nearly destroyed the town 7 years previously. #songsofsummer @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620
My #currentread is the fourth in this cozy mystery series having to do with a librarian, Ophelia, who also happens to be a witch. Ophelia and her grandmother Abby work together to solve mysteries in their small Iowa town. I originally read the first one to satisfy the “a book based in your home state” prompt in a reading challenge I‘m doing and fell in love! #30JuneBooks @howjessreads
Registered for fall at my local community college! I dropped out of my 4 year school I went to right after high school (I graduated in 2007) because of lots of reasons. But I finally decided to pull the trigger and go back! I‘ll only be taking one or two classes a semester since we‘re paying out of pocket and I don‘t want to get overwhelmed balancing my school, my son‘s school, the dog, the husband, and the house but I‘m very excited!
The tornado sirens are going off (for literally no reason I might add) so the kiddo, the dog, and myself are hanging out in the basement for a bit! I took this right when Aiden saw a bug 😂.
This is the second in a really fun #cozy series that takes place in/around a noodle shop! I really enjoyed this, even more than the first, though it always makes me hungry for some noodles 😂. A quick read that had me not sure who committed the murder until the last fourth of the book.
Looking for recommendations for audiobooks to listen to while I‘m at the gym! Really in almost anything with the exception of romance and religious. #gymtimeisnotfuntime
1. Our son Aiden at his field trip last week, my husband and I at his FLETC graduation in 2016, and our dog Roxie!
2. I‘ve only read the tagged and haven‘t even finished it. Haven‘t read a lot this week due to it being crazy stressful since the husband left for New Mexico for 2 months on Sunday ☹️.
3. Library run, cleaning, reading, playing with the kiddo/doggo.
4. Rainy in the 40s.
5. Something with chicken?
This book was a TRIP. I originally wanted to read it because I love ikea and when I sat down to read it this afternoon I thought I‘d read a bit then go do some other things. It‘s now 5 hours later and I‘ve finished it already. I honestly don‘t even know what happened I just literally could not put it down 😂. Good for horror fans, fans of Ikea, and anybody whose experienced the horror of working retail.
Heading to Ohio to spend Easter weekend with my brother in law and his family! It‘s been raining on us ever since we left our house two hours ago 😬. Probably won‘t get much reading done except when we are at our hotel and during the drive but should be a great time anyway! Hope all my Litten friends have a fantastic weekend!!
I hit sort of a wall reading wise and was finally pulled over it by this absolutely lovely companion book to Victoria! I finished season 1 (finally) yesterday and absolutely devoured this between then and now before starting season 2. I was lucky my library had it 😂.
Reorganizing my various shelves today to (hopefully) have them done by genre. Or at least as close as possible to genre while still working within my shelving space!
“Siblings: children of the same parents, each of whom is perfectly normal until they get together.” -Sam Levenson
Myself, my 15 year old brother, and my 17 year old sister last fall! Technically they‘re only my half-siblings since we only share the same mom but I‘ve never called them that 🤷🏻♀️. My sister and I are wearing our other brother‘s (who passed away in 2008 at 17) football jerseys. #siblings #springintoreading
Was this book discussing 13 terrible breakups historically accurate? Nah. Was it a hilarious, fun ride? Definitely! I can overlook the mistakes the author made historically because she‘s not a historian and she‘s not claiming to be. A gossipy, lighthearted discussion of the breakups. I did come away learning some things and have have some things I‘d love to learn more about! Which, to me, is the point of these list type nonfiction stories.
For today #flowers prompt for #SpringIntoReading I went with some gardening books I have checked out from my library. Mainly because I couldn‘t find any books I have with flowers on them 😂. This is the first spring/summer I‘ve had a yard to actually have a garden in so I‘m hoping to have a lot of family fun with it! @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @vkois88
2. Print unless I‘m traveling then audio for the car.
3. Younger! I‘ll be 30 in June.
4. No and haven‘t since I was 4. I also live more than 100 miles from what I actually consider my hometown and wouldn‘t go back if someone paid me 😂.
5. Will do! 💜💜💜
Get to enjoy a quiet lunch with book while Rox is at the groomers and the husband and kiddo are at the Y for homeschool gym & swim!
I had a hard time choosing just one #childhoodfavorite so here‘s a couple! I especially loved the American Girl books (I had a Samantha doll and a Molly doll), Harry Potter, and the Dear America series! Fun fact, my grandpa called my brother and I “The Littles” because of the books! #springintoreading @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @vkois88
Apparently I‘m on a “novels based on my favorite tv shows” kick? This was SO much fun though. Cox really nailed the character‘s voices so that I could really hear Pete, Myka, Leena, and Artie coming through the pages! He didn‘t *quite* get Claudia‘s voice right all the time though. The historical parts are awesome and I could definitely see this as an episode! Highly recommend to other Warehouse 13 fans!!
A quick and totally fun read and a delightful return to the world of the Library! This time Eve and her trusty crew of Librarians must prevent the end of the world (again) by stopping Mother Goose from putting Humpty Dumpty back together. I really enjoyed the nursery rhyme aspect and totally didn‘t see the twist coming! Recommended to fans of both the Librarian movies and the tv show but especially the show!
