A lot of the books I try to tag are not in the system so I'm sorry that I tag random books 😂.

The theme for July was Sci-Fi. I only read one, Hurricane by Laura Taylor. It was not my jam 🤷‍♀️. I don't think I enjoy that genre as much.

All in all, a great month of reading 😍.

ravenlee I‘m torn between “isn‘t it already July?” because it‘s been about 100 degrees for two weeks and all my momming is centered on next month, and “it can‘t possibly be the end of June because the year just freaking started?!” I will be working on my list early next week. 2y

In thinking about this collection, I find my mind keeps returning to the title poem, which makes up the middle third of the book. There‘s something so American about a road trip, and using a road trip as a way of reckoning with America itself, it feels apt. And not just with a place or a home or a country, but also reckoning with oneself, both one‘s complicity and one‘s power. I‘m going to have to think more but there‘s interesting stuff here.
