Sometimes I forget how much I love a good mystery thriller, but this one reminded me. It is super fast paced, the author certainly didn't stretch anything out for a higher page count. I almost wish it had slowed down a bit and gave us more clues and time to figure out the mystery. But is was a fun ride anyway.

@TheAromaofBooks
I'm going to start with finishing How High We Go in the Dark and Queen of the Night. Then my Bookspin and Doublespin. Then if I get to take my Staycation at the end of the month I'm going to try to do as many of my picks on Audio while I do some projects around the house.
April #BookspinBingo #Doublespin
@TheAromaofBooks
Here is my list for April, this month is kind of up in the air. I'm either going to take an 11 day Staycation and get alot of reading and letter writing done, or find out that I may be having neck surgery. 🤞 For the Staycation option.

@TheAromaofBooks
I started out ok for March, then just fell into a huge slump trying to get through my doublespin pick.
But the tagged book was a free spot and only got through Siren Queen.
March #Doublespin #BookspinBingo
@TheAromaofBooks
This was my doublespin pick for March, I just couldn't get through it. Even on audio it bored me to tears. It threw me into a reading slump, I should have just quit sooner.🙄
#BookspinBingo #Bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
I love when an author brings two different worlds together and blends them into an amazing story. It would have been a compelling enough book just about a Chinese American woman trying to make it in "Old Hollywood", but throw in that magic and monsters are real and it turns things up a notch. Took me a bit to get used to the writing style, but then it was smooth sailing
????. #ARC
#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView 🌷
1. I'm not great at it, I own quite a few but I'm bad at picking them up.
2. Drakula by Bram Stoker
#BookspinBingo #Freespace😃
I had expected this to be a thriller, but I would probably describe this more as a slowburn mystery. Its a quiet book very atmospheric and the first audio book to actually make me ugly cry. While most of the book seems calm, and characters are pretty soft, there is just an air of tension that runs through it. Everything seems alright, but something is about to go down. ⬇️

1. Siren Queen📘, These Silent Woods🎧, How High We Go I'm The Dark📗, Secret Agent:The Atomic Spy In America Who Got Away🎧
2. I just checked out Invisible Child:Poverty, Survival, & Hope in an American City
3. Before the book in #2, Along Came A Spider 🕷

Excited for Siren Queen, not sure what to expect from my Doublespin. My Goodreads TBR is ridiculously long and picked this one by random number generator.🤷♀️

@Eggs ?
?1. Doesn't matter to me, I like either.
?2. No, I've tried to learn other languages but it's not my thing.
?3. I am a list reader and I have a set of "rules" of how I pick the books on my list.

1. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of the tagged book.
2. It may not be overused, but it drives me crazy when people pronounce Frustrated as Fustrated. Lol.
#BookspinBingo #Doublespin
@TheAromaofBooks
I only finished 4 books last month, but To Paradise was so long I gave it two spots on my Bingo Board.
To Paradise I did partial physical and mostly audio.
Along Came A Spider was read on kindle, but was a library book.
A Dirty Job was a book I had purchased on my kindle along with Rubbish Pet Portraits.
This started out as a father encouraging his son to be creative, but soon he was drawing himself. He jokingly put his "pet portraits" on FB for sale, soon requests start pouring in for him to draw their pet and some offering to actually pay! He instead asked for donations to go to a homeless charity and raised so much money so quickly. The book is hilarious ?. The authors descriptions and then the customer reviews!???
#AlmostAChunksterChallenge @TheAromaofBooks
I don‘t enjoy short story collections because they leave me frustrated and unsatisfied, and while none of the stories in this book could be considered short they left me feeling the same way. I am so disappointed, I have not read A Little Life but have heard how emotional it is and how much the book hit people right in the feels. So I had hoped that I was about to read something similar. ⬇️

Lots of carry overs from February. (I'm still working on finishing a couple by tomorrow, the 28th, so they aren't on here)
I will be reading #17 and #18 as part of online book clubs, and then number #19 (ARC) and #13 so I can pass it on. Then we will see where Bingo takes me.

This is the first book in the Alex Cross series. I had read one of the later books as part of a book club and always wanted to get back and start at the beginning.
This was super fast paced, and kept me reading past my bedtime. Had plenty of twists and turns, been awhile since a thriller has had me glued to my book like that.
Three solid stars, 🌟🌟🌟
#BookspinBingo #Bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
#Seriesread2020 @TheSpineView
(This is the first book in a duology, so I think it counts??)
This is the second book I have read by this author, and just enjoy his writing so much. He cracks me up! He creates characters that are deeply flawed but still lovable. Even the "villains" have pretty great dialog. And this story is right in my wheelhouse, creepy with a side of humor. ? ⬇️

@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Professional_Book_Dragon
Today I participated in the Sharreadathon in memory of our Litsy pal @sharread , I didn't know her well, but from what I have seen from others she was a sweet, generous and very loved.💗
Today I did some Audiocleaning, listened to the tagged book and did a deep clean of my bedroom. Made it to the half way point.

I'm not the one you'll sweep off her feet

Now it's too late for you and your white horse
To come around🎵🎶

1. The Woman in the Window by Misty @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks (Thank you)
2. My nephew's 2nd birthday was on the 5th, he loves cows 🐄 so I got him the tagged book.
3. The Heart Principle by Helen Hoang, it's a romance but deeper than that.💔

🎶🎵'Cause I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me head first
Fearless
And I don't know why
But with you I'd dance in a storm
In my best dress
Fearless
Oh, oh
Well you stood there with me in the doorway
My hands shake
I'm not usually this way but
You pull me in and I'm a little more brave
It's the first kiss, it's flawless, really something, it's fearless🎶🎵
Like many other Littens I've switched over to the audio book of this one.🎧 I struggled through the first story and knew it was gonna put me in a slump if I kept going. I'm enjoying the audio version much more. And it's easier to keep track of the overlapping character names. 😊

I'm a day late, but Valentines went out today. (Got a little food poisoning this weekend🤢) I was in such a hurry to get them mailed I forgot a picture.

Blank Space
I saw an interview where T-Swift said she wrote this to address all the stories about her and people calling her crazy. Reminded me of Cleopatra and all the stories about her. The victors write the history. So who knows how much is true of her reputation either. (This is an amazing book by the way)

A Sweet Mess
@TheSpineView
And with this DNF I will no longer be following this series. I loved the first book, A Sweet Mess, but this one just didn't grab me. The "romance" was more about lust and honestly both of them kind of got on my nerves. I found myself putting off picking it up and my goal for this year was to allow myself to DNF when I'm not enjoying a book.

@TheAromaofBooks
I had the first half of this book as my Bookspin. My slowness in getting through this in no way reflects my enjoyment of this book. It is so good.💙 I'm just taking my time and loving every part of it. I will prioritize getting through the second half in February!

Here is my January Bingo Board. It may seem like I didn't get to much, but compared to the last few months it's great.😃 I'm feeling like reading again, so even though February is a short month I may do even better.🤞

The tagged book had a twist ending that really knocked my socks off🧦. But if I had been a good reader and read my Shakespeare I wouldn't have been so surprised, this is a retelling of Hamlet. I loved it.

1. The tagged book, loving it, just taking some to get through.
2. Also the tagged book. I can't believe I waited so long to get to this one.
3. Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman, it contains a novela I need to get to for my American Gods series read. 📚
(Not my picture)
I was not happy with how my reading turned out last year. I hit a big slump. With my Netgalley and Literati subscription I started feeling stressed about reading. So I made two big changes.
1. I did not set a number reading goal, it makes it easier for me to DNF and focus on quality not quantity.
2. I deleted my Netgalley account. I have so many amazing books that I own that I can read.
I'm really looking forward to reading now.

@TheAromaofBooks 💕💗💕
Here is my list for February, mostly brought over from January. I didn't get to my January #doublespin so I left it on here for February. I will be prioritizing To Paradise as pary of my Literati book club. It's not on the list because we won't finish until April, but I will also be reading the tagged book as part of the #Shesaid book club.
#Literati #Audacious
While this is a good sci-fi story it also has much to say about corporations, directly pointing to one that rhymes with Spamazon, corporate greed and how that has consequences for other people in other countries. How these big company‘s power along with support of the government hurts small communities and other small businesses. Also how it can all damage the environment. 👇

Thanks for the tag, @Eggs ❄️
1. Addie LaRue, but I wouldn't remember her anyway.🥴

I really like the first two books in the series so far, I have listened to them both. Tim Curry narrated this one and he is fantastic, as always. While these are “middle grade” books, Count Olaf is menacing enough to be scary. Threatening to cut off baby toes and all!🙀 Wth? But I love it.
