I am now a solid Ali Wong Fan! She does not hold back, she tells it exactly as she sees it with the exact language she wants to use! I found this book funny and relatable. 😊

Honestly I only knew one Liz Phair songs. One of her pop songs, when I requested this from Netgalley. But growing up in the 90's she was an alt.rock feminist icon. Not sure why I never heard of her actual music? What I enjoyed was the non linear way she choose to tell her story, by telling stories about her life and sneaking in the other details of her family, relationships etc.

I freaking loved this book! The story of the zombie apocalypse told by a domesticated crow. Raised by Big Jim, not the most "woke" human, he has some very skewed ideas about life. He calls all humans Mofos, as Big Jim told him we are. Loved the writing and ST's fowl mouth, pun intended! Favorite book of the year so far.

wanderinglynn That definitely sounds intriguing! Stacked! 2w

It felt like catching up with an old friend I hadn't spoken to in a long time....but she still hasn't gotten her sh!t together!! Dang Bridget! You got kids now, and being a single mother you gotta do better. She stressed me out! But it was a good read. Will be picking up the fourth book.

A little like Charles Manson fan fiction, but I really enjoyed it. Was definitely a page turner. Four childhood best friends get caught up with a charismatic cult leader. Drugs, sex, madness and violence ensues. But while I call it Manson fan fiction, this book definitely has some twists and turns to keep it unique. ☠🖤☠

I really loved parts of this book. Anyone that has ever waited tables or worked in a restaurant will relate to so much of this book. But...THE DIALOGUE! It was terrible! I know the author was trying to be literary, but it did not work for me. 👎🙄🤦‍♀️

Cinfhen Ha!!! This book was the literary version of Vanderpump Rules 😉🍷🍷🍷 2mo

My time with the Twilight series was a really fun time in my life, I really loved the books and was volunteering with a youth group, so we did the midnight showings and other events. I get the backlash about sparkly vampires and how the whole obsession is problematic. But it was good for me. Now this book is not the worst thing I've read, I just take it as a short trip back to forks for the fans. Not as satisfying, but for a fan not too bad.

Enjoyed it on audio. Great world building for a dystopian story. Daniela has been trained to be a Primera, a wife that will manage her husbands household and be his partner, her husband will also have a Segunda that be his lover and bare his kids. She is wed to a man with high hopes to one day lead the government, a corrupt government. Dani has only got to this position due to forged papers, the rebels know, and use it to force her to help them.

Ooooh, she is messy! I finished listening to this book while blanching and peeling peaches to freeze today. I found myself talking to myself in my car about how much trouble this lady is gonna be in all week. Some of the science kind of bogged me down but the author really explains things very well. Its a crazy story and a great book.

While I'm not a big fan of "War" books this one was pretty interesting. Its the true life stories of 4 women that worked as spies in the Civil War, two for the Union and two for the confederate side. While it's nonfiction it read like a novel for me, I found myself getting up early to read before work, and I am a sleepy girl!? So it had to be good.?

LOVED IT! I listened to the audio read by the author, and her voice just made this for me. Emoni is starting her senior year of high school being raised by her abuela and raising a daughter of her own. Her love of cooking has always been a comfort for her, so when a new culinary arts elective is offered it feels perfect. She wants to follow her dreams but the responsibility of being a mom, a student and doing what is best for all is on her mind.

I love rain, and I so wanted to love this book. But it was a little dry😀 ba da dumdum🥁 I tried reading it on paper, couldn't get into it. Got it on audio, nope. So I rarely give up on a book, especially after spending the better part of 2 weeks. But I found myself looking for anything else to do but this book. So I bailed. 😞

This book was so creepy and good. Its non-stop action and scary! I read the first book awhile ago and remember part of it being scary, but this one upped the creepy factor. It's a bummer she only wrote two. It's the vampire apocalypse ya'll! In this book Katie is shunned by her Amish Community for helping outsiders, her now boyfriend Alex and her friend Ginger. Now the three of them are trying to make their way north, and survive.

Really good story! I love that some of it is based on real people that did really good things. I didn't know much about WWI before this book, nor did I know what a big part Russia played in it. The book is written from four perspectives. So you are able to feel for the wealthy Russians now running for their lives and for the starved citizens that suffered so they could live in complete comfort. 🌹

It was so fun to be back with the Sanderson sisters and see a little bit more of their world. But if this is what they had planned for the big screen sequel I'm glad we just got the book instead. The story was fun, but the dialogue written for the witches was terrible. That being said, they did end this setting up for another book, if the make it I will read it. But please Disney, just keep this version on the page.

I received this ARC from Netgalley. This is the second book in the series, I have enjoyed them both. Librarian+Haunted Library+library cat= a great cozy. Carrie is just settling in to her new life in this small town when her sketchy father shows up. He is after his partner in a gem heist that took off with the loot! Of course then a body shows up, her dad is arrested and Carrie finds herself in a mystery. All during Christmas!!🎄

I'm sure Kurt Vonnegut is an amazing writer and I'm sure this is a fantastic book. But I'm just not into "War" books. I know that it is important to remember the sacrifices of our military, but I'm too tender hearted. The first story about a dog being scared and I was out. Maybe Ill try another book another time.

nozpow Hope you return to it sometime. Its not really a "war" book. Its a space and time travel book with bits of the war in it. Its very antiwar. I think its one of those marmite books, you either love it or you hate it. I really enjoyed it as it is not constrained by genre.??? 1y

So, I want to start with the fact that I love vampires and vampire stories. That is why I choose to LISTEN to this book...that was my mistake. The narrator was Australian trying to do an American accent, may not bother some, but it got on my nerves. I didn't expect the next great American novel, so the story was good enough. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I would have read it though.
