First, I'm alright. Nothing a middle of the night visit to the emergency room can't fix. I slipped on our concrete floor in my slippery slippers while trying to give the dogs treats, and I fell back on the ol' noggin. Of course Pip ate all of the K-9 kabobs that fell around me. Quite the sight. Recuperating today. 🤪

We do not care that I clashed with my new Pupil Services Director,who in an email suggested I was not supporting a student‘s IEP when I stated that I would not pull him out today due to behaviors that impacted six other learners‘ ability to focus.I pointed out the student has the English teacher, & a Para available to him.In addition,I work with him daily in the Resource Room every day, so in reality, he is over-serviced.Feel insulted.

Had to share, especially with my Canadian friends. This tee is the #1 seller for the FUNNY TIMES newspaper. They can't keep it in stock.

If you've never heard of FUNNY TIMES, it's a fabulous (ahem) liberal-leaning newspaper with tons of cartoons, editorials, etc. that are, well, FUNNY! It's my most cherished reading now that we are actually living in #funnytimes. P.S. I don't work for them. 🤣

We do not care that we made vaccination appointments for 11:30 AM today, showed up at 11:20 AM, still had to wait for half an hour, and had to refill ALL of the online info we had filled out yesterday. We are hoping the shots were correct and are glad they are done. We also don't care that we're resting the rest of the day. #maybeavodkashot 🤣

#truth I slept decently last night because I felt so much relief from the last few months of turmoil. It was joy to see the pushback against hate & repudiation of all the horrors of the last few months. It‘s still a long road & lots of work to be done but it was a start. So happy to see massive voter turnout & saying no we‘re not ok with this whether it was a small local election or big state election. Thank you to all the voters & poll workers.

In 2011 I was living in MN, that August I attended an incredible 2 day music festival featuring: Devotchka, The New Pornographers, Okkervil River, Flaming Lips and more. The following year promised to top it & I immediately bought tickets, sadly it was cancelled due to lack of sales. I do recall Jane's Addiction, Weezer and Florence and the Machines (CONT)

Yay for #ReadYourEbooks day! Four very different titles for me this month: muckraking journalism about a Rhode Island boss, a collection of Jack London's writings about Hawaii, a collection of horror stories, and the launch of an indie fantasy epic. I hope to get to the London and at least one more.

Happy Monday! It‘s a crisp 46 degrees Fahrenheit here in central Texas this morning!

I had to drastically downsize my belongings earlier this year which necessitated a hard look at my values and needs. Simplicity feels so unencumbered.

Even though my current reading slump is now months long, I still fill out my monthly #bookspin TBR. I know that I probably won't come close to a bingo (or probably even finish many of my chosen books), this is some sort of much-needed “normalcy.“ So many thanks, @thearomaofbooks, for giving me something to look forward to!

Well the second half of #HauntedShelf didn‘t go as planned. I read a lot and played a couple games but it didn‘t add up to much.
