Books of May 2023
Of the 17 books I read in May these were my top 12. Don‘t let the cow wearing clothes, communicable diseases, or near starvation fool you. May was an excellent reading month.
#WondrousWednesday
@Eggs
1. THE ILIAD, though the version I read wasn't published in BCE. 🤣
2. I think 3 is a good minimum to maybe 7. I gave up on the Stephanie Plum series by J. Evanovitch and the Alphabet series by Sue Grafton because there were just too damn many of them, and the same plot devices got old.
3. The HARRY POTTER series and the LORD OF THE RINGS series. I loved being in those worlds.
Wanna play @TheLudicReader and @BkLover?
Every time.
Is anyone else participating in the #QueerLitReadathon in June? I think I went a little overboard with building a TBR 😬

Here are the June prompts for the #Movie2BookRecs To play, post a picture of a book that you would recommend based on the film. Be sure to tag the host in your post. This is always a fun photo challenge. I end up adding a lot of books to my TBR list because of this challenge. 💜🎬📖📘📚📚

Hi Littens! I am thinking of starting a low key Sci-Fi book club and I am trying to gage the interest. If interested, please comment to this post and tag anyone you think might enjoy being part of the group.
@RamsFan1963 @Branwen @wanderinglynn @Klou
I know there are more Sci-Fi readers and I am drawing a blank at the moment.
#WondrousWednesday @Eggs
1. Beowulf is oldest thing I have read (not counting parts of the Bible).
2. If the series is really good I am happy reading 20 - 30 books or more.
3. The Clifton Chronicles
Care to play? @blueberry @ozma.of.oz

1. Favourite book in May would have to be Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
2. No. All the books this month have been great!
A BRAND new true-crime book just released. With 1 single rating on goodreads.
It's free with Kindle unlimited. 🤯 I love being one of the first people in the world to read a book. So cool!
A narrative by Steven Anderson himself, who committed a mass shooting in New Zealand and was later found not guilty by reason of insanity. The story of event leading up to the crime and how he's coped since.
I predict a 5 star read.
Thanks for the tag, @The_Penniless_Author!

1. Favorite book in May: CRANFORD by Elizabeth Gaskell and read with the #pemberlittens. 🩵🤍🩵
2. I still have 50% to read for THE SPLENDID AND THE VILE by Erik Larson. Hoping I'll finish, but ...
A little reading outside after some spring cleaning. It always feels good to slim down my book collection so I don‘t feel as bad buying more 🤪😉
Also I was logged out of my Litsy account and I could not log back in for the longest time! Glad to have it back!

1. I really liked The Ferryman…and I also really liked The Postcard…and The Office of Historical Corrections too…and there are a few more I could name as well. 😬 It was a really good month for great books. I really did try to pick just one…and failed.
2. I won‘t finish The Will of the Many which I just started. It‘s really good but long.
@TheSpineView
Happy Tuesday! Here are the #Two4Tuesday questions. Everyone is welcome to play!
My answers:
📘 Babel by R.F. Kuang
📘📘 The Lady Gets Lucky by Joanna Shupe The plot was weak and I didn't care for the characters.

It wasn‘t supposed to rain this afternoon, but also I was supposed to be doing yard work. So, I‘m sitting on the porch reading instead and I‘m not mad about it.
Here are the prompts for June's #PoetryMatters
To play along, post a poem, quite, lyrics, etc that you feel matches the prompt. As always, thanks to everyone who reads the posts and to those who participated in May a big shout out! Thanks!

I have been doing some audio puzzling this weekend. This is the first wooden puzzle I have worked and it loads of fun. 💜📖🎧🧩
For those U.S. Littens, I hope you enjoy this holiday. To all the Veteran Littens, thank you for your service.
I played the #islandvibes playlist on a roadtrip yesterday and decided to throw in my own recommendation! I didn‘t read the book this month although I am due a reread so … and added On the floor by J Lo - the lambada element makes me think of holidays to Mallorca as a little girl #titlesandtunes
Just what everyone needs, right? Another booklist. But this one concerns our nation, state by state: 1001 books! Intriguing. I found books in my state that I had never heard of! What about you?

A month of getting some books read off of my shelves and curbing the buying of new books. For a month. That's probably the longest I can last. 🩵🤩🩵

Doing a little weeding to make room for new books. The negotiations are hilarious. #BoysReadToo #RaisingReaders #BlackBoyJoy
Here is my June #BookSpin list. My goals are to read both the #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin books in June and get at least two bingos. 🤞

Who knew? I certainly didn't. I guess I joined 5 years ago, and did nothing on here until this past year. After quitting all social media except this, I have found my truly happy place. You all are, as the redoubtable Tina Turner sang, “simply the best.“ 🩵🩵🩵
