Lovely, low-angst, mm romance. Great third book in the series. Can‘t wait for the audiobook.
I‘m 48% in. It‘s witty and banter-y, sweet and lol funny in places…but it‘s me and reading an MC with anxiety like mine is so hard to take that I can only read it in small doses. The audiobook is also well done. Maybe the miracle here is that it‘s so well written I can still enjoy it, even in small bites.
Best one yet. Loved the conclusion to this trilogy. And Michael David Axtell did an excellent job with the audiobook narration!
Neil is not only a genius, he‘s hysterically funny! Can‘t wait to read his new book.
The author speaking and reading this morning from her new book.
What do you do when you are in a school media center and Wi-Fi (which you need to do your work) goes out. Find a good book! Or two. Or three…

Apart from the satisfying ending, I had a really hard time getting into this. Just me??! I mean the audio was stellar and there were funny spots…
Sweet and more complex than I expected. Themes of friendship, found family, determination, self-identity, the nature of good and evil—all wrapped in a fun story! Thank you so much @Bookgoil and #litsylove!! I really enjoyed it. Also, when I finished the book was donated to a local middle school classroom.
This book is charming and so beautifully done! Multimedia journal style with artist Jo Atherton supplying the cyanotype endpapers made with found beach objects. An oceanographer and BBC journalist consulted. It‘s worth every penny and now I want to send one to everyone I know! 🤩😍🤩
This was gifted by a dear friend and former work colleague. He said he hopes I don‘t stay up all night reading.—It‘s like he doesn‘t know me at all. 🤣
Seriously laugh out loud funny. Hilarious YA m/m romcom. #LetterN #alphabetgame #impatient @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
To say I loved this series does not quite express the depth of my emotion. It‘s one of my favorite worlds ever. I love the author‘s phrasing, descriptions, and world building. So believable, so immersive, so poetic. I hope you love it as much as I do. #LetterL #alphabetgame @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
The second in the series that started with Strange the Dreamer. This is one of my top books ever and one of my favorite authors, Laini Taylor. It‘s strange and poetic and lovely. #LetterM #alphabetgame @AlwaysLoveToRead @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
My pick for #LetterJ of #thealphabetgame is a spin-off in the Charm of Magpies world. A m/m romance and magical adventure make this a very satisfying read!! @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
Unexpected and clever, more accessible than the Broken Earth, I highly recommend this series from N.K. Jemison!! #alphabetgame #LetterI @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
For #LetterH #alphabetgame I recommend the Hexworld series by Jordan Hawk. It takes place in a gritty alternate New York of the early Industrial Age. With magic, were-animals, and a m/m romance. Highly recommend.
I loved this creative YA fantasy adventure mystery duology. #LetterG #alphabetgame @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
This is the first in a charming m/m historical romance series. So well written!! It‘s fun and spicy! #LetterF #alphabetgame @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
#bookspinbingo for August. My selections for 15-20 will be mood reads. Hope the rest go better than my first read of the month. @TheAromaofBooks
I really wanted to love this. I had high hopes. But I hated both MCs. I hated the premise and I hated how they treated one another. It‘s a no for me.
#alphabetgame #letterD. This is one of the best books!! I LOVE Laini Taylor!! At once a love story, an adventure, and something that defies description, this is a hidden world where all is not as it seems! Lyrical and incredibly well-written, the whole series of three books all begin with D and I highly recommend!!! @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
This series of over 10 books, starting with the tagged book, is kind of a police procedural but with magic and dragons. And a multiverse. #alphabetgame #LetterC @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
This is one of my fav for #LetterB #alphabetgame @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
My new #LitsyLove pals are really amazing and generous humans. You bring me so much joy. To those pictured and not pictured…Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. ♥️🤩♥️ Seen here are @DinoMom @Blerdgal_Fenix @Bookwormjillk @Christyco125 @Bookgoil @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
#alphabetgame #LetterA Post an “A” book you‘d recommend. Be sure to include the author! @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks One of my favorites was the tagged book. I loved the sequel, too!! If you‘d like to play, consider yourself tagged!
July #bookspinbingo yielded 3 bingos. I think. Unless I counted wrong like last time. It was a very emotionally-driven reading month with a couple mediocre books and a couple superstars (books by Jason Reynolds, Roan Parrish, the tagged book by Harper Fox, and the thriller by Tal Bauer). @TheAromaofBooks
Best decision ever to join #LitsyLove ! Thanks for the warm welcome! @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Christyco125 @BookNAround @AmyG @catiewithac
Well-paced YA adventure-romance. Fated mates, werewolves, grumpy/sunshine, one bed. Very swoonie, sweet rather than spicy. Cliffhanger ending and a sequel in the works.
I wanted to frame and quote every page. Absolutely stunning work of art. A story told in three breaths.
With Giovanni‘s Room, I‘ve completed the 2021 #lgbtqbookbingo (begun this year after I finished the 2022 board…) @Kenyazero
Witty and wordy, this cute 🌈 rom com is definitely worth your time. Non-binary and pansexual rep, they/them pronouns, navigating family issues, not-so-secret love. Cute and swoony but not at all spicy.
I‘m not even sure what happened to me but I know I enjoyed it. This newest Tal Bauer is tightly written, more than a little timely, suspenseful, and also swoon-worthy. 5🌈⭐️.
Lots of 5⭐️ reads: The Darkness Outside Us, Heartstopper #4, The Heartbreak Bakery, The Charm Offensive, Wolfsong series, Upright Women Wanted, The Archive of Alternate Endings, The Disordered Cosmos!!
And snuggly Freddie ftw! @Eggs #wondrouswednesday
I saw this recommended on Booktok and I read it in a book slump. I had low expectations but it was a really entertaining queer historical paranormal (?) mystery romance. I was so surprised and delighted to find this. My only issue was that it seems to actually be a spin-off series and I was confused by some of the characters in the beginning. Rather than being a problem, I am now going to read the other series!
Okay, I was expecting to need tissues…because Jay Bell tugs the heartstrings. What I didn‘t expect in the middle of this queer YA romance was a psychopath murder mystery. I didn‘t love it. I get it was about different kinds of love and found family but It seemed somewhat uneven. And was it an HEA?! 🤔
