The SEG Club follows the lives of 4 young women- 2 Jewish, 2 Italian, as they make their way through immigrant life in the early 1900‘s. Set in Boston‘s North End, you are immersed as traditional expectations meet an emerging new American lifestyle. Loved this fast read! #SeptemberDoubleSpin #finallycatchingup

Hard to read for content- one has to be in a place to receive this story. Organizationally I was unsettled between storylines and point of view. Worth a read, skip the audiobook as there are text features and graphics that you will miss. #julydoublespin #betterlatethannever

Tore through this audiobook! Such an interesting historical fiction account of Mileva Maric, Einstein‘s brilliant first wife. It‘s a little hard to personally reconcile how Albert treated her with his historical genius persona. Have to keep in mind that this is a fictional account of real people. Still an engaging read! #bookspin #Septemberbookspin @TheAromaofBooks

Fun read and loved the Jane-August relationship. Definitely interested to unpeeled all who Jane is along the way. Loved her first book a little more- I felt the flirty banter was better in that one. Overall a great read.

Initially I was looking for a copy of The Flatshare but substituted this one instead. Love O‘Leary‘s light writing style and her characters- an almost eighty year old grandmother from the Yorkshire Dales switching abodes with her workaholic 20 something granddaughter from London. Reminiscent of The Holiday…Love, friendships and adventures await! #bookspinbingo

Pulitzer Prize winner for sure! Such an enormous book that I couldn‘t put down. So many injustices and atrocities that I just wanted to scream throughout. So artfully crafted telling the story primarily of two youths sent to a Florida ‘reform school‘ in the 60‘s. This will stay with me for a while.

Definitely Gladwellian- weaving stories with social science research to pose theories about life, this time about what we naturally do when encountering strangers. I felt Outliers, Tipping Point, and Blink were more tightly rationalized. Overall enjoyable and makes you think. June‘s #doublespin #bookspinbingo

Love the back and forth storylines of Eve in WW1 and Charlie just after WW2. I can‘t wait to get back into each of the characters! Do you ever have a book where you HATE getting whisked away to that subplot of characters? And you scream at the author for more of the storyline you want? Not so in this book!!

This was a read for our school district professional learning community. Such an investment to have safe and vulnerable conversations, reflect on ourselves and anti racism, and plan strategic actions that we can do in our roles. This book provides a conversational tone to learn and reflect. But you definitely get out what you put in. Learn better..do better. #bookspinbingo

Easy read that breaks down the whys of the college financial aid system. Helps you ponder decisions related to schools and how they offer aid. I read as we are going through award letters now (Georgetown, Wellesley, or Colorado College) but I would recommend picking up this book freshman/ sophomore year to plan further ahead.
