#hailthebail - read 4 and bailed on 4 this month. Bailed on good books - definitely a me not you moment. Almost embarrassed to bail on “good“ books - but I have to be honest - they just aren't cutting it for me right now.
Due to the bails I did complete my goals for the #BooksinBloom readathon 🤣
Make a great day everyone 💐
Stevie is excited to be attending Ellingham. She is a true crime enthusiast and wants to solve the mystery of 3 disappearances at the school in the 1930s. The founders wife and daughter were kidnapped, and never seen again, even after Ellingham paid the ransom. At the same time, a student Dottie, went missing. ⬇️
My goal for #BooksinBloom readathon will be to finish my 3 current reads -
Thanks for hosting @Catsandbooks 🙂

Added two new series to my reading list - I enjoy getting to know the characters and setting on the level a series allows. Glad to have found a few good ones right now. Series are like several seasons of a good tv show.
Some stand- alones have done this for me ( usually Stephen Kings books) Stand-alones are like a good movie.
#SeriesLove2024 @TheSpineView @Andrew65 thanks for hosting.

I enjoyed the Christie and Duncan novels - but this one......not so much. Moving on -
Make a great day everyone 😊
Just started the tagged - so it can't count!
The third one is listed as nonfiction - it was a quick fun read for anyone who reads cozy mysteries that take place in a quaint English village.
Thanks for the tag @TheSpineView - took me a while to think about and review the books I've read in the past few years ( I don't read much non-fiction)

Beautiful story. Loved the way it unfolded - through the eyes of Esme, Iris, and Kitty. This will stay with me for a while. A perfectly written story.

Love the idea - execution was not good for me. Hard to follow the world author was creating - could not visualize it.
On to another book -
Make a great day everyone 😊
Lori is planning a perfect first Christmas for her family. A tramp, Kit, passes out outside of her house. He is taken to the hospital, in a coma. Lori and Father Julian are determined to find out who he is and how he is connected to Finch. This one was a bit darker than the others (the war memories). Overall, a nice “here is the meaning of Christmas“ cozy.

Lila has killed her husband Aaron but the body is not where she left it. Ginny is the lead investigator into Aaron's disappearance. Some women have also gone missing in the area. So begins the twists and turns as the story unfolds. Only issue is that slowly the truth unfolds until the end, then it's a data dump - almost everything unanswered is neatly explained. Overall, a good thriller.

1. Vanilla - reminds me of hugs and love
2. Summer morning in the Midwest - smells like the morning after a campout - reminds me of mornings at my parents cabin, spending time with family
3. Fall morning in the Midwest - I call it “going back to school“ smell - reminds me of walking to school with siblings and friends
Make a great day everyone - 🙂
I just could not get into this story - it wasn't bad, interesting premise, writing was fine - it's me not you.
I did get a #BookSpinBingo and I did finish the two books I set out to finish for #20in4 and #FabulousFebruary (both with the help of a bail🤣)
@TheAromaofBooks @Andrew65

An archeological dig, a stolen pamphlet - the town of Finch is in an uproar! Lori is tasked with figuring out what is going on and with the help of her husband, Bill, good friends, Derek and Emma, and of course Aunt Dimity - she will. A fun, easy, cozy. I really enjoy this series.

Love the story line, the world building, the quest, Feyre, Rhys, Cassian, Mor, Amren and Azriel. Did not need 2 ½ - 3 chapters of sexual activity that read as if a 15 year old boy who had never engaged in sexual activity wrote it. It was repetitive and, at times, cringe worthy. The ending was good enough to keep me motivated to read the next one.

Work is interfering with my reading time this week!
Make a great day everyone - 🙂
This series is the perfect cozy for me. It is a great escape from more serious reads!
Lori is back in England looking for her father in law (Willis Sr.) - who is searching for answers to a centuries old feud with his English relatives. Aunt Dimity is there to help everyone find what they need.
3/24(?) #SeriesLove2024 @TheSpineView @Andrew65
Moving right along - #BookSpinBingo - make a great day everyone 🙂
Izzy's friends start posting about their death fears (worst way to die), then they start to die based on their fear. Izzy intends to find the serial killer. A lot of twists and turns. Kept me guessing until the very end, which I loved! Izzy's character was self-proclaimed smart girl but not too smart in terms of her thought processes and actions, which got annoying. Overall, a so-so read, good enough to finish.
Make a great day everyone 🙂
Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim, and Ron - from tagged series. I know it's 4 but.....
Thanks for the tags @TheSpineView and @dabbe !

I enjoy a good series - but read more stand alones. I like to read in bed, but usually fall asleep! POV doesn't matter to me if it makes sense in the story - if it adds to the story.

This was good to read after reading all 3 of the Good Girl books first. Pip and friends are at a murder mystery party - this leads Pip to the idea of investigating a real murder for her senior project (the first Good Girl book) - It was interesting to read a story about Pip's closest friends knowing how it all turned out for everyone - I thought this was a good book to end the series on. I'm glad I read it that way!
Make a great day everyone🙂
Pip and Ravi solve another crime while trying to figure out who is stalking Pip. This one was very slow to get started (Pip's PTSD was the theme of the first 1/2 of the book) - and the conclusion, while an interesting twist, was a hard sell.
Book 1 very good, book 2 good, book 3 so-so, next up Kill Joy (prequel) to finish the series.
First book finished for February #BookSpinBingo
Book 3/4 for #SeriesLove2024

1. take my watch off as soon as I get home from work - only wear a watch on work days
2. must sleep with blanket on (no matter the season)
3. I sing insults (people don't take it so badly) - imagine singing this to someone “you're an idiot“ - not so bad is it🤣
Make a great day everyone ❄️
The tagged was my favorite - a light, easy, and perfect cozy -
A close second was A Court of Thorns and Roses -
The two series are balancing each other out nicely for me! I'm looking forward to (and have started reading ) the next in both series.

Had to switch to audio as my library loan is due and others are waiting for this one -I'm 1/3 in, love it and have to finish - the audio will be a good motivator to get out (or go to gym as it is raining here) and walk 😉

I think these books are perfect cozy mysteries - Aunt Dimity helps people find what they really need (although she has passed on). In this case, under the guise of restoring a window, a garden and finding a lantern, she helps (with the aid of the Pym twins) Emma and Derek, and the Duke and Kate, find each other, and Peter and Nell find their childhood. All the characters are adorable. A fun, easy, good read.
Make a great day everyone 🙂
I just started the second book in these series. I'm not sure what other books I will get to each month - but these series will definitely be on my list each time -
Thanks for hosting #SeriesLove2024 @TheSpineView and @Andrew65 it was the push I needed to get started on these - and I'm so glad I did!

1. Yes - not well but I can do it if I have to 😅
2. Tagged book - one of my favorite reads last year - thanks to @BkClubCare for passing it on to me 🙂

Juno lives with Winnie, Nigel and their son Sam. The story involved Juno trying to help Sam. This means revealing a big secret Winnie and Nigel have kept for 13 years. Everything goes very wrong, Winnie's brother Dakota enters the scene and the story takes another twist. Overall a good and very creepy thriller told from Juno and Winnie's perspectives.
Finished 2/2 for #JoyousJanuary !
Make a great day everyone ❄️
Mid-month and here is my #BookSpinBingo so far ☃️
Make a great day everyone ❄️
A friend of Pip's ask her to investigate his brothers disappearance. Twists and turns, surprise ending. Use of podcast/notes to aid in the story were good, the story itself not as good as first one (more of a stretch, writing not as good). Overall though, good enough for me to want to read the next one.
Make a great day everyone❄️
2/4 #SeriesLove2024 @TheSpineView @Andrew65
1/2 finished for #JoyousJanuary
End of the holiday season and beginning of second semester at school had me reading very few hours, so this weekend is a treat - very little on my schedule as everyone prepares for our first blast of very cold weather.
Plan to finish tagged and Good Girl, Bad Blood during #JoyousJanuary - thank you for hosting @Andrew65 -
Make a great day everyone ❄️
I had an old BMW, bought at an auction, that I enjoyed, other than that the make or model of car not a big deal to me, more of the features. As I get older (and technology changes as well as what comes standard on a car changes) which features matter change. Younger me ...convertible, cup holder, stereo system. Older me.....tire alerts (shows which tire low), blind spot alert, automatic brights. 🤣
#TLT @dabbe thx for tag @TheSpineView
Love Feyre, Tamlin, Rhys, Lucien, Alis, Nesta and Elain - looking forward to getting to know all of these characters better! Love the world created in this story - looking forward to learning more about it as well.
