Sweetkokoro I love this book, when we got it in at work, I read it out loud to my coworkers and it was the funniest and yet biggest eye opening to how weird the English language is. 5d

I don't know if it's just the version I was reading, but a few typos and name swaps that confused me for a few seconds, but overall it's a quick and OK read. I'm curious to see what happens next. I've seen some of the original Roswell show and I think it had some better parts, but the book had some other parts that were better, too. So idk. I'll probably continue the series.

As with the first one, the pacing is breakneck and it doesn't lend well when you're confused who people are and where they are. But lovely artwork and really dig the LGBTQ rep here. Basically, war sucks and it hurts the little people the most.

I think these two books would make a great TV series. Just pull it out a liiitle bit more.

Also, I bailed at 91 pages because nothing interesting happened and the thing between Camilla and Remy was just so sudden and ugh. Very disappointed. The first one hooked me and was so, so good. I don't read romance often & I especially hate instalove romance, which this is, but I got it free so 🤷‍♀️
I strongly dislike Christian fiction, which this tried to sneak by me until the end. & guys, the ending was so aggravating and stupid.
Every one of these guys were condescending and presumptuous, getting all sexually harrass-y on people they've known 2 days. It wasn't cute or sexy, not when the love interest was accused of rape (cont. below)

UnidragonFrag and that was never resolved in anyway (just vague references to the girl taking advantage of him and her basically being a mean girl slut-type character). Everyone of these characters had an unrealistic arc of development. Or none at all. 2mo
UnidragonFrag I'm just so annoyed with myself that I kept reading once it started getting just so awkward. 2mo
UnidragonFrag And really that his tumor was healed by her love and a freaking angel.. and that him having cancer and going through all of that is God's plan. Screw that noise. Anyone who wants to believe cancer is in God's plan clearly hasn't watched someone die of it 2mo

BarbaraBB Hi, can I ask you a non bookish question? I am travelling this Summer through Oregon and have never been there. Do any places come to mind that I should definitely visit? I‘m very interested in the Oregon trail for example. I‘d love to hear from you, if you have the time! Thanks! 2mo
UnidragonFrag @BarbaraBB I'm not actually the best person to ask this, as I've only moved here two years ago, but I can give you some cool places I've been around here. Like, visiting Hawthorne street is cool. Lots of little shops and a smaller Powell's. 2mo
UnidragonFrag @BarbaraBB following the Oregon trail to the coast is pretty cool, too. It ends at Seaside, which has a lot of stuff to do. Kinda touristy, but nice. In Portland I always suggest OMSI, a handful of breweries if that's your thing (rogue, deschutes, etc.), and you gotta visit the Powell's off of Burnside. It's absolutely enormous and very cool. 2mo
BarbaraBB Thank you so much! I‘d love to follow the Oregon trail for a bit and I am into beers and books of course. Powell‘s seems heaven! Thanks again 😘 2mo

Not his best work, by any means, but some parts, especially the race, were really rather beautifully written. I figured the ending very early on and the characters were so flat (the good doctor, the reformed Trumpian, the vegetarian lesbians, the main character good guy). Took me only maybe 2 hours? to read it, so if you're looking for something quick.

Not sure how I felt about this. I realize things like this do happen and I felt so sick and had to hug my baby at parts, but the ending felt too wrapped up to be realistic. I guess they had to throw in a happy ending otherwise it would've been too depressing. Gotta throw that hope in for a better future, which I understand. I think maybe it was a style issue that I had with the actual writing 🤷‍♀️

I hate to say it, but I liked the movie better. The climax of the book was so petty and ridiculous compared to the movie. 🙄 It was pretty disappointing that Rachel let THAT get to her. She felt much more weak and placid in comparison - actually all the women in the movie I liked, I disliked in the book. But it was entertaining in its extravagance and I'll probably read the next one. Also, who else hates movie covers? Ugh.
