Point of Origin: Scarpetta | Patricia Cornwell

Pickpick

Book 9 in the Kay Scarpetta series and this was a good one👍🏻Carrie is back and causing mayhem again! I like the way Cornwell has took a step back from the obsession Scarpetta has with her niece and it isn't as creepy as it has been in previous books. Benton though... 😪

I liked this one, death on vacation was interesting to see. I did miss the witches though, although the bumbling wizards were entertaining I missed the ladies. Looking forward to the next one.

Thought this was a brilliant book! Part one in the O'Connor and Kincaid series and you just can't help but like both of them 😊
Can't wait to read part 2 and see what happens next ❤
Also part of Tess Diamond's FBI series.

I just loved it! 🥰 The Scouse humour and dialect was boss and very close to home 😊 loved reading a book where I knew all the areas etc it's a great series. That ending was too much 😢

MicheleinPhilly I read the next one immediately after. Trying to hold off on the 4th for a bit but the temptation is strong! 6d

MicheleinPhilly I have to start that series. 6d
suzie.reads @MicheleinPhilly I think its slightly better than the Luca Veste series but the scouse humour is more evident in these. 6d

How is it Monday? Kick starting my week off with a few chapters on my way to work. I'm really enjoying the 8th book in this series, Aaronovitch mixes history, magic and police work brilliantly. I had to use my Gandalf bookmark for this book about Met Police Wizards 🧙‍♂️

This is the second book in the Finfarrin series, and I enjoyed learning more about Hanna, Jazz, and the other characters. I'm looking forward to the conclusion of the #seriesread which looks like a fun Christmas book. Finfarrin is a fictional place but may be based on the Dingle peninsula where the author has a home. In any case, it's (relatively) far from Dublin #wherethestreetshavenoname except that it's right there on the wall. #wanderingjune

Crazeedi I liked the first one more than the second, but both were pleasurable books 1w

Very happy I finished this book, didn't think I would because I feel so rough (I'm too old for Matthew's Street 😂🥂🎉)

I thought this was another fantastic book in the Will Robie series, it's fast becoming a fav👍🏻
The relationship between Robie and Reel is great and I love them both. A very good plot aswell like the previous two books.

Also snagged this at the library this morning! It is a lot thicker than I thought it would be. Definitely the longest of the four so far. I‘m not sure where this is going to go after the ending of Morning Star. I have heard it‘s a lot different than the other ones but I‘m anxious to find out for myself. I also checked out the audiobook so I can listen in the car and when I‘m out walking. Another fabulous #SeriesRead I‘m looking forward to!

BookaholicNatty @andrew65 have you read them all once already? 2w
BookaholicNatty @Victoriahoperose yuppp I‘m not far from you. I live in Washington Crossing near Newtown if your familiar with that area. 2w
Andrew65 @BookaholicNatty No, read book 1 a couple of years ago but never progressed to the others. So re-Read book 1 before a planned mammoth reading session reading the others in quick succession. (edited) 2w
Victoriahoperose Yes! I live right by Franklin Mills mall!! 2w
MellieAntoinette Yaaaasss, my friend! I‘m right behind you by about 10 chapters!!! I‘m kind of treading water though cause I have a vision for Morning Star and I hope it ends like I‘m wanting it to! 2w
BookaholicNatty @MellieAntoinette once you finish I want to know if those visions panned out😁 2w
MellieAntoinette @BookaholicNatty Ummmmmm...what just happened! OMG I loved the ending, but then ugh! I feel so weird right now! It was not what I was expecting at all! Tell me all your thoughts! (edited) 2w
BookaholicNatty @MellieAntoinette I know right!!!!! I had thought in the end of the second book or the beginning of the third what would happen if Mustang got pregnant. So that thought did cross my mind. But Cassius had me fooled man! And I seriously thought Sevro was dead and I was like noooooo! That ending had me fooled so bad! I just didn‘t see that coming at all. What did you think?? 1w
MellieAntoinette @BookaholicNatty I wasn‘t expecting mustang (or anyone) to wind up as Ruler. But they have a son!!! I wonder if that‘s what people mean by this ending disappointed them?? It was a little undo redo. But I personally felt like it fit. I wanted Jackal to have a harsher end! 1w

The Book of Etta | Meg Elison
post image

This came in sooner than I thought it would and I‘m so stoked! I flew thru the first book in 3 days and can‘t wait to see what journey this book is going to lead me on! Unlike the first book where the main character was a midwife, Etta is a scavenger who tries to save the lives of women and children who have been taken by brutal slave traders after the great plague that wiped away the world of almost all women and children! Can‘t wait! #SeriesRead

riversong153 It‘s really good so far! 2w
squirrelbrain Let me know how you both get on @BookaholicNatty and @riversong153 - I loved the first one but I‘d *heard* this one wasn‘t as good so haven‘t tried it.... 2w
riversong153 @squirrelbrain the second one is definitely different but I think it stands up and is really good so far. I think people may think it‘s less good because going through the tragic events that happened to shift the world seems more interesting than already living in the new world that has been created as a result of what happened. 2w

So sorry to be saying goodbye to these kids! 😭 This started off as my least favorite but halfway through, the waterworks started. Each character faced challenges in their own lives an on the track, navigating life and new skills. I recommend this to any reader, middle school to adults! #SeriesRead @TheSpineView

IamIamIam @LiteraryinLititz They're all so amazing!! I think I had a chip on my shoulder about Lu because of how mean he was to Ghost in the first book but I fell in love with his story about halfway through. 💜😁 2w
