Finding the Mother Tree | Suzanne Simard

This book and I had a rough start at first. I wasn‘t sure about the author moving back and forth between life stories and the scientific work she was doing. But by the midpoint, it makes sense why her family‘s stories are so tightly interwoven with the rest of the book. Although I think it should be marketed more as a memoir, it‘s still an amazing book that opens your eyes to how connected everything in nature is.

I love The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, and I don‘t think anything could ever change that. However, reading this book again as an adult has given me a wildly different perspective on the characters. I hadn‘t read this since I was a teenager and I felt I got much more out of it this go around. Rice‘s vampires are truly the saddest vampires I‘ve ever read about. I‘m looking forward to continuing with my reread of the series after October⬇️

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm I told my husband I had a feeling I wouldn‘t be able to stop after this one. 😅

Sara Blaedel has written yet another mesmerizing mystery/police procedural. The plot involves four 13 yr olds that are on a week long school trip. After sneaking out two nights, only 3 of the teens return. What happened to the missing teen? What secrets were pledged & lies were told? Fast forward more than a decade later & this case is reopened when one of the 3, now adult women disappears. #outstandingoctober #20in4 #librarybook #Litsylovereads

The Nature of Witches | Rachel Griffin

So enjoyed this YA novel that combines the forces of nature & the power of magic. Witches are trying to get the attention of shaders(non witch humans)in hopes of making them see the dire consequences of climate change. Shaders need to change their ways & work with the witches to,if possible, reverse some of climate change‘s present & future effects. Our group discusses this tomorrow. #sundaybuddyread #outstandingoctober #20in4 #litsylovereads
