I was surprised by the dark turn this installment took, but it was a good finale to the series. It was my least favorite though.

#bookspinbingo - free space
#tbrtarot - still has the shop sticker on the front

CBee I agree, this one was super dark compared to the first two! 1d

My #TBRtarot pick for April was great! I would have liked it more if it were true and not fiction. But still a good story about sex, drugs & rock n‘ roll! I admired Daisy for her freedom and was rooting for Billy and his restraint. Now I‘ll absolutely have to check out the show and see if they got the casting right. 🤣 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

CBee Yay! Even though it wasn‘t true per se, it felt that way to me (honestly, I was surprised that it‘s technically fiction). I loved the series and the casting, especially Riley Keough as Daisy 🌼 1w

I loved this so much! Very charming with a great cast of characters (though my absolute favorite might be the apple tree 😂) and with such lovely magical realism. So far, I‘ve not been disappointed by SAA!

I don‘t ever really read self-help, but this book has low-key been on my radar since it‘s publication, because who doesn‘t want to be badass? 😂 There were 2 or 3 chapters that resonated with me, and the author approached the whole book with humor, which I always appreciate. My biggest take from it was to always LOVE YOURSELF! It‘s really the first step to badassery!

The Widow | Georges Simenon

Pickpick

The Widow is an interesting, bleak, tension-building story that follows two characters trapped by fate and despair in the French countryside. Simenon‘s writing is forthright and sparse; the story kept my interest throughout, giving an air of edginess. Of the two main characters, the widow Couderc (Tati) - unattractive yet tough- is more interesting and has my sympathies. The 1971 French movie adaptation starring..⬇️

erzascarletbookgasm ..Simone Signoret and Alain Delon has a different ending. #TBRTarot 2w

While not my favorite of Ann Patchett‘s books, it was still a good read, at times quite beautiful.

Ruthiella What‘s your favorite? This is mine, though it‘s also the first one I read, which probably plays into it. 😀 2w
AmyG @Ruthiella Tom Lake followed by The Dutch House. 2w
Ruthiella Awesome, I‘ve not read either of those yet. 2w

wanderinglynn @AmyG bummer! 1w
AmyG @wanderinglynn I‘m sorry. My end of April half of May schedule is bananas. 1w
wanderinglynn No worries! I interviewed for a job there & have a second interview on Monday. So I thought I‘d fly out & check out some potential places to live just in case. 1w
AmyG Oh Wow! Lynn, my daughter lives there. If you‘d like…I can ask her if it‘s ok for you to contact her if you have any questions (she always says yes but I like to ask first). She has lived in Denver for about 10 + years. @wanderinglynn (edited) 1w

I loved this book! I‘m kinda mad at myself for waiting so long to read it. Tangled is my favorite Disney movie, and this reimagining is very clever. It‘s a bit of a chunkster but such a quick read (at least it was for me) and so entertaining!
