After I read Hamnet and The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox, I wanted to read more books by this author. Someone from Litsy recommended me this one. Maybe is not the best story but the writing style create the atmosphere to love it. This is a character driven novel with slow pace. It was fascinating to me how well she described the characters, I felt I was in their heads specifically with Elina, Ted, Lexie. The story goes from past to present⬇️

Gissy (Cont) because there is something that unite them, something from the past. Ted is experiencing difficulties to remember some events from his past. And then, you will be connecting all these dots. But so well described. Loved it! And that cover? So pretty to me, this book is so heavy with high quality pages 4/4.5⭐️

Katy‘s mother died and her world stopped. She decided to travel to Italy as she had planned but with the absence of her mother, who was supposed to go. She will discover herself in this travel.
I didn‘t expect that this novel would be a time traveling. This is a story of second chances.
I liked the atmosphere, you felt like you were there. I traveled too with the help of Google☺️But this character is so annoying⬇️

Gissy In my opinion her relationship with her mother was enmeshed (concept used in family therapy) with no boundaries in her personality.
I found that it was repetitive about how Katy felt about the lost of her mother. It is a short novel, only 253 pages and I don‘t know how many times she mentioned this situation.
I could say that is okay but I decided to put it in the category of picks because of how well the atmosphere was described. 3⭐️

I enjoyed this cozy mystery. Jane lives with her uncle and aunt in a resort and to increase the number of bookings and raise money for repairs to the property, she creates a Murder and Mayhem week. There will be prizes for those who solved the clues. But the activity turns in a real murder after a book was given as a prize by mistake since the book shouldn‘t be given away. Jane will discover many secrets around this book, about a society ⬇️

Gissy (Cont.) ...about her uncle and aunt. You also have the funny scenes expected this type of genre in this case by the aunt d as bd the twins. It was fun. What will happen in the next book?

Unpopular opinion-I didn‘t like this one as much as I wanted. Too many coincidences in those twists, so convenient with a dramatic ending and almost happy ending😳
Love the premise but you see from the beginning that something is off🙄 3⭐️

Andrew65 I loved No Exit, but found the next one, Hairpin Bridge, wasn‘t as strong. 8mo
Gissy @Andrew65 This one has mix reviews. Some people really like it. I enjoyed some parts but it wasn‘t what I expected. Try it, you never know🤗 7mo
Andrew65 @Gissy I‘m sure I‘ll get to it at some point. 7mo
MaleficentBookDragon I don‘t care for it either. The “motivation” for the big bad was laughable to me. I couldn‘t buy it at all. And I found the book kind of boring for a thriller. 7mo

Joining! After work today (Friday), I have a long weekend off from work; so that looks promising. No work tomorrow and next Monday 🥳
After a particularly unpleasant week at work I hope to make some time for pleasant distraction (i.e. reading😁)

#JubilantJuly Check-In: Not as much as I hoped timewise, but got two #EarlyReviewer ARCs finished and my outstanding #reviews done, so: success!!!😉

#20in4 #JubilantJuly #readathons #summer @Andrew65

Andrew65 Best of luck 😁 Sorry to hear about the work week, hope things improve. (edited) 8mo
