I volunteer in an extremely small, private school, library. I am trying to get all of the books into the system, and today, I came across this note. I don't have anyone who would find this little piece of history as interesting as I do. Therefore, I am sharing it with you.

I went into this expecting to love it. I have read the authors previous work and enjoyed it. This book left me feeling unconnected to the characters. I couldn't find a single character that I enjoyed. I do think to make the story work it had to be that way.
These two books helped me meet my #20in4 goal of 20 chapters. With a husband who works crazy hours, a son who is sick, a daughter who wants to do everything but clean her room, it was a struggle. I met the goal around 9pm CST and didn't get a chance to post until now. Hopefully, 2025 reading isn't all like this first batch.
Rainy day reading. All of the adults are reading while the kids play in the hot tub. Family vacation at its finest.

pickI devoured this. I couldn't stop reading it, but I am having trouble processing how I feel about it. I think I am struggling with how much I liked the book when I saw so much wrong within it.
pickI don't even know of I can write a review through these tears. I closed this book and the flood gates opened. I don't know why it hit me so hard, but it did. This is a book I will recommend for a long time, one I won't forget, and one,when it inevitably made into a movie, will not quite hit the mark. Bravo Ms. Hannah!

It has been a while since a book had me crying both sad and happy tears.
At first, I thought the pace was slow, but now I think it needed to be. I think if it was paced faster, you wouldn't be able to build relationships with all the characters. 4⭐️

pick#NovelNovember Started and finished. Hopefully, this is the breakthrough, and my reading slump is over. I enjoyed this even though I saw the ending coming. Sadie's family story was able to keep me checked in because I wasn't sure how that would play out.
pickThe build-up of this book was great. Always waiting, for Jamie to be the bad guy, for Finn to be the hero. That ending. A pregnancy? That is what saves her? Ugh.

I could not find premade gingerbread. So, I took liberties. I bought cookies decorated them with my daughter while my son baked a cake. We set up a haunted pumpkin patch instead of a haunted gingerbread house. #scarathlon #TeamCryptKeepers @LiseWorks @Catsandbooks

Well, #20in4 did not go as planned. Reading a total of 4:25m. Usually, I am ok with how things work out. I have never hit the 24-hour goal, but this was disappointing.
