This is a delightful middle grade adventure. I love Mona's baking magic and the creative ways she puts it to use in a pinch. A lot about this book is fairly average otherwise, and there are a few awkward spots where something important is repeated almost word-for-word. I also lost it a bit when the baker threw flour on a fire to put it out. #Magic #Baking

Jones creates a school full of loveable and hateable students and tells this story in an interesting manner. I liked it a lot better now rereading it with my husband, but didn't care for this when I first read it as a teen. It's an interesting entry in the Chresomanci series. #Witches #Magic

An absolutely delightful read! I loved the narrative structure with Nina and Oli‘s stories running parallel like their worlds. The characters are all super fun and the Native American storytelling style of Oli‘s adventures adds so much. I enjoyed Darcie Little Badger‘s previous book quite a bit, and this one blew it out of the water! #NativeAmerican #Snake #TwoWorlds

Other than being a D&D adventure, nothing about this comic stood out to me. I snagged it as a #HooplaBonusBorrow this month, and it was entertaining. The art is nice as well. #Comic #DungeonsAndDragons

reading.rainb0w I read this on hoopla as a bonus borrow as well! I enjoyed seeing the characters in illustration as I saw the movie in theaters, but I agree nothing spectacularly stood out 😅 1w

I can‘t decide if I am intrigued by this absurd comic poking fun at museums, art academia, and itself, or if I hate it. Either way, this discussion about literal framed art devolving into such simple frames that the curator imagines art presented as sequences (that look familiar to any comic reader) is killing me 😆

Just sharing a weird coincidence this month. I recently reread The Lives of Christopher Chant, and as a child Christopher wanders his way into different worlds in his multiverse. While listening to the tagged today, I came across another character who calls the worlds she travels to in her own multiverse Anywheres! 😮 #Similarities #Coincidence #Multiverse

Continuing my reread of this series with this book that I don‘t remember at all (other than that I didn‘t like it as a teen). It‘s a pretty quirky story packed full of Romeo and Juliet nods, cats, and an interesting sung magic system. This hardly has anything to do with Chrestomanci compared to the books collected in the first volume. #magic #cats #MultipleWorlds

Shayla Lawson converse a wide variety of issues of equality. I found this thought-provoking and useful because it returned some issues to the forefront of my mind for continued consideration. A super cute travelogue comic collection about Sarah and their boyfriend's experiences visiting the U.S. for a comic convention. I don't remember why I wanted to read this. It was on my #Roll100 list. I didn't love the last book I read by this author. This starts of with tons of promise, but it feels like the author isn't committed to the character's bad-girl-with-a-past persona. I can't suspend disbelief that one session with a therapist who pointed out her trauma magically solved half her problems, and I am not feeling the whole mystery stolen object plot any more. #SciFi
