I guess after a month of reading cozies I am feeling more like reading historical fiction. Got these today even though I didn‘t go to Sams Club for these. And why are there so many covers with the backs of women on WW2 books? I have at least a dozen more on my shelves.

@Crazeedi #50kcelebration My favorite childhood summer memory is a camping trip my dad took me and my sister on, Mom stayed home. We hoped in the pick up truck and explored the west. when we were driving in the mts one day, we had to stop with hundreds of other cars cause there were goats in a tunnel and the rangers said we had to wait until they left. That took 6 hours! But it was great 6 hrs cause we got to commune with nature and 👎

mdm139 Bond with each other. We talked and played and feed chipmunks and meet some nice people all waiting for the goats. All the cars basically tail gated and shared their food and drinks. It was our own goat watching party. There was no cell phones or tablets. We just hung out and enjoyed nature and the company of strangers. 2w
mdm139 We returned a couple of weeks later covered in ticks and dirt. But we saw Mount Rushmore, Devils Tower, Chimney Rock and crossed 6 states. 2w

A new read, iced tea, and hickory farms = perfect afternoon break. I may have bribed my dogs with new bones so they won‘t beg me for my hickory farms and I can read in peace. And I may have put mustard on the crackers so my kids don‘t beg me to share too.

rretzler That reminds me of the time many years ago when we had Hickory Farms on a plate with crackers on our counter. I stepped out of the room for a minute and when I came back, one of our cats was on the counter with a huge slice of beef summer sausage in his mouth. He took a look at me and ran away with the slice in his mouth, growling the whole time! It was like he was telling me that there was no way I was going to take away his sausage 🤣 2w

Book 16 #cozyinthesun @Librarybelle @ferskner finished one more in the nick of time. I think the Christmas Carol plot devise is over done in cozies but I enjoyed learning more about Hannah‘s father. We need a solution to the love triangle too. I am going to try the gingerbread pancake recipe as soon as I can. I found some leftover candy canes in my pantry when I was purging it yesterday, maybe that is why I was in the mood for a Christmas cozy.

Librarybelle Yay for one more cozy! Thank you for participating! 3w

Book 14 #cozyinthesun @Librarybelle @ferskner I can see why this has been a popular series for so many years. I love the idea of a postmistress and her cat and dog being the sleuths. Book 13 #cozyinthesun @Librarybelle @ferskner I think book 2 and book 3 were written better then book 4 & 5, but I still love these characters and setting. I thought the MC throwing away evidence wasn‘t plausible at this point since it is book 5 and she should know police procedures by now. And there needs to be snow on the cover since it is set in winter and she mentions snow a lot. But I did like some of her plot devices in this one.

Book 11 #cozyinthesun @Librarybelle @ferskner This book was a bit fluffier than I expected from a cozy and I thought maybe the beginning where she introduced some characters could have happened more organically. But I like that the MC found clues instead of just interviewing people and the paranormal element. It would be a good read by a campfire and was good enough to get book 2.

I read this book straight through. If you like The Woman In The Window or The Girl On The Train you will like this fast paced thriller. This is my first Sager and I will be getting the author‘s other books. Thanks for the Litsy mug @Litsy I love it and it will be featured in many of my photos. @Librarybelle @ferskner let me know if this counts for #cozyinthesun

brit91 Oh I love your cup!!😍💖📚 1mo
Librarybelle I own a couple of Sager‘s novels, including this one, but haven‘t read them yet! Your review makes me want to read this very soon! From what I‘ve heard, Sager writes good fast-paced psychological thrillers, but I‘m not sure if they‘re really cozy...cozies have limited thriller episodes in them. I‘m intrigued by the comparison to Girl on the Train - l liked that book, though I really didn‘t think of that as a cozy. What do you think, @ferskner ? 1mo
mdm139 @Librarybelle I think it is more of a thriller too, but saw someone else had posted about The Girl On The Train as cozy so I thought I would ask. 1mo

mdm139 @Librarybelle I also like this book more than The Girl on the Train 1mo
Librarybelle I had not seen the post about Girl on the Train, so sorry for the confusion! I am very intrigued about this one...I may have to reevaluate my reading for the readathon this weekend... 1mo
ferskner @Librarybelle @mdm139 sorry for falling off the grid! I had family in town and wasn't checking social media. Yeah, I agree that these aren't really I'm the cozy realm. Cozies are contained mysteries with minimal sex, violence, and language. Psychological thrillers are maybe kind of the anti-cozies? You're doing well in the challenge, so I think you're still in the running without this! 1mo

I could not put this action packed book down. It is my favorite in the series so far. There is major potential for this to be a good movie sequel. And Jason Stratham did a fantastic job embodying his character.

TheBookStacker I didn‘t much like Trench so I took a break and read the loch which I loved and now I am starting back up in the series. Especially because I know there‘s a crossover between Meg and Loch later in the series! 2mo
mdm139 @TheBookStacker I didn‘t know about the cross over, I will have to read that one too. I also didn‘t like the trench much. I thought Celeste was such a horrid person her background info distracted from the book and was unnecessary. But I am very glad I read book 3. 2mo

When you forget your tote bag full of 6 books for your 36 hour vacation you make an emergency stop to get a book. I was only able to read 50 pages while on vacation but now that I am home I am almost done. I see what the hype is about, there are twists through out, neighborhood drama, moral and legal dilemmas. I am glad Reece Witherspoon is making it a movie. I loved being able to enjoy 70 degrees and read outside.
