Pickpick

Not an easy review, it has fantastic parts, it has weaker parts, it leaves some plot lines unresolved, which felt a bit frustrating.
Strongly recommend to check TWs, I didn't to avoid spoilers and the usual happend, I got hit by content I would have avoided otherwise, although I am sort of glad I read it.🙈
I loved the magical realism and of course the focus on food, so it was the perfect pick for #foodandlit Turkey 🇹🇷

Ate Turkish food for #foodandlit, Top middle is lahmacun (flat bread with mince meat), top right is Turkish meatballs kofte, bottom right is chicken Adana, plus below meatballs is sigara boregi (cheese sticks). It came with side salads and extra veggies, haydari dip, and the bread. My boys loved everything and wants to try more Turkish. @Texreader @Catsandbooks

Inci Atrek did a beautiful job in describing the Turkish landscapes and the Aegean Sea. But...the characters were not the greatest, especially the main character. Ada was a 19 year old on summer break with her mom in Turkey. At first, Ada tried to help her mom after a big discovery, but then Ada betrayed her mom by getting involved with her mom's old love. And why? Aye... 2⭐️

“He said she was anaemic and recommended red wine so we bought her a bottle a day and thrust it upon her.“
That's a lot, unless it's a very small bottle... 😱

The family went to a nearby Turkish restaurant tonight. Starting bottom, left to right: beef and lamb kabob, beef kabob, and lamb in a pita. The bread was hot, fresh, soft, and delicious. A wonderful meal for #Turkey #foodandlit

Tradition dictates that Turkish coffee is prepared with finely ground Arabica coffee, resembling the texture of flour, and is known for its concentrated and aromatic qualities. Turkish coffee is not simply a drink for Turkish people. It is also a big part of the culture. Here, people drink coffee when they want to share their problems and happiness with their friends.

#foodandlit 🇹🇷 TURKEY

One of their favorite meals is kebab made from grilled lamb. Their diet includes lamb, eggplant, and yogurt. A sweet flavored candy with rose petals called Turkish delight, or lokum, is sold in many flavors and colors.

JenniferEgnor My husband and I had the pleasure of tasting Turkish Delight when a group of Whirling Dervishes came to Charleston several years back. It was a beautiful experience watching them. 2d
JenReadsAlot I really hope to visit Turkey some day. 2d
TheBookHippie @JenReadsAlot it fascinates me! It would be so cool to see! 2d
