I wasn‘t a fan of this series in the beginning, but it‘s certainly growing on me and developing , this book really explains a lot and was enjoyable!
A day late but finished 2 books even though it was half of Heir of Fire I consider it a book since half is almost 300 pages ha and started The Paris Labyrinth

Wow I haven‘t read a good crazy horror ,gothic book in years it‘s twisted and unexpected ,the author was not only creative but there were deliberate points of colonialism and eugenics that are mind blowing 🤯

Jessica is the main character in this dark novel of six friends who meet in college and goes back in forth with current and passed timelines. They all have secrets and complicated pasts and relationships, it‘s a slow build but a decent psychological thriller. #novelnovember

A Painted House | John Grisham

Mehso-so

A Painted House , this story is narrated by a seven year old boy Luke who lives with parents and grandparents on a Arkansas cotton farm in the 1950s it is definitely a atmospheric story with baseball being a big part of their lives and a series of events this young boy witnesses pushes the story along , it was a little boring to me.

The Sun Down Motel | Simone St. James

The Sun Down Motel was a mix of creepy and murder mystery set between two time periods between the two main characters, Vivian in 1982 and her niece Carly in 2017
I enjoyed the two different perspectives, it was a little slow at times but still kept me interested and enjoyable

Pickpick

This is a pick, but it took me to the end as a collective story to say that, the main character Patrick the “guncle” is somewhat off putting in trying to navigate his niece and nephew, but during the coarse of the story Patrick finds himself examining his life on this journey to help the children and ultimately also helps himself. I finished this yesterday so didn‘t make #superseptember readathon

The Mask of Mirrors | M. A. Carrick

This was a complex story that was built off of a young woman named Reneta with an idea for a scam that blossoms into a series of connections to nobility and a crime boss Loved the world but if your not paying attention you could easily get lost, this was a ebook,I recommend to go in the back glossary for definitions I learned the hard way.I did feel the magic part could have been better explained from the beginning It ended up being a lot of fun

Another so so, 28 summers, Mallory and her brothers best friend meet once a year on Labor Day and both have a different life the rest of the year,it was just a lot I didn‘t get how that all worked, I liked Mallory as a person but the concept and all that happened in between there visit just didn‘t keep my interest, I wanted more for her, and then the end ugh

I finished one book for #awesomeaugust readathon
This was just so so the setting a island off the Mexican main land, six strangers where deceived on why they were invited to the island to find out their lawyer set it all up Miriam the main character is the narrator who after awhile gets irritating, it‘s kind of sad murder mystery with all their true colors being shown and the lawyers motivation on bringing them to the island

This was ok for me I liked it but didn‘t love it the narrative made it seem slow and monotonous at times, yet thrown in we‘re bits and pieces that kept you interested enough to keep reading. This was a atmospheric and character driven story that wound and unwound, and had a satisfying ending.
