This story was fantastic. Pulled me in and I loved every moment. I I loved this book! It was lyrical and raw, with characters that are real, flawed, and manage to be lovable. It was especially amazing on audio with an entire cast reading it including Jennifer Beals, Judy Greer and Benjamin Bratt. It was a 5 star read for me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I‘ll slowly post reviews for books I completed during the #24in48 #readathon ...don‘t want to saturate everyone‘s feeds!

Everyone told me I had to read this, and this has to be one of my favorites from 2019. It‘s so touching in parts that I sniffled and had tears in my eyes. I loved the layout, and I loved the documentary feel of it. And the lyrics at the back of the book...wow!

Julsmarshall I agree! I finished this on my commute today and cried most of the way home! Loved it! (edited) 18h
marleed It is the book I most recommend in 2019. With second coming in at TJRs Evelyn Hugo 17h
Librarybelle Glad you agree, @Julsmarshall ! The ending was just so emotional, but yet sweet. 12h
Librarybelle @marleed I have not read Evelyn Hugo yet, though I do own a copy of it! 12h
Rachel_nyc I‘m starting this today!! Very excited. 7h

OK one last audiobook review for this week. This book was the reverse of Lincoln in the Bardo! I can only imagine it as an audiobook! The full cast narration gives it the feel of a rockumentary! I imagine reading it would be blah. So I highly suggest the audiobook! I didn‘t think I‘d like it but ended up completely loving it! Did I mention that all of this week‘s books were sort of on the adult side? YA beware. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

End of day 1 of #24in48 — not a great showing, but also not unexpected. If I can get another 4 hours in tomorrow I‘ll be thrilled. Also I started the tagged book and am already on page 125. It‘s a fast read!

How fun was this book! Listened to the audiobook alongside the physical book which brought it to life. Was immersed in that world. Kept wanting to hear the songs they were working on, put the album on that they put out. Hoping against all hope that the series Reece Witherspoon's company is producing on amazon video captures the book's essence.

Holy crap.

I rarely give five star ratings. This book absolutely lived up to the hype. Mercy. Go read it.

(I'm trying to decide if I want to see it as a series. I trust Reese Witherspoon, but it might mess with the perfect pictures in my head, y'know?)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Readergrrl I loved listening to it on Audible. Wonderful cast narration! One of my top 5 books of the year! 6d

I did this book via audible. And I loved it. It was the 1st and only book I‘ve ever listened to. And I think I picked the right one!! If I read this book and I don‘t know I would have loved it as much as I do!! But they did a great job with the characters. It is set up kind of like an interview, so listening I think was the better why to do this book! I loved it so much, I wanted the band to be real, and to hear their music!

Do you ever read a book and think it wasn‘t your favorite, but you can‘t get it out of your head? That‘s how Daisy Jones and The Six was for me. Maybe it was the hype, but I wasn‘t in love with this book. Now, I keep thinking about this book. This Artmark was inspired by this book, months later.

Thanks to those who voted awhile back on my first read for the #24in48 #readathon . Daisy won hands down, with The Library Book coming in second.

So, I think this is my lineup for the readathon this weekend. I always choose more books than I read, just in case I have to bail on a book. It‘s always good to be prepared,m!

I‘m so excited for my sixth time doing this readathon!

Week 3 check-in: Almost finished with this one. 100 pages to go. Didn‘t quite meet my fitness goal; ran 6 miles this week. My schedule was off and it just didn‘t happen. Next week will be better! I finally finished this one. I loved the execution of the audiobook — it really sounded like a “Behind the Music” type production — but I wasn‘t crazy about the story itself. I cared about the characters, but wasn‘t super excited to listen to the drama — I get enough in real life. 🤣

This was book #4 of 10 for #BFCr2! (I also hit my step goal this week, but not the food, nature, or yoga goals. I‘ve been at a conference all week, so it‘s ok!)

This was a really unique, really cool book. I'm a huge music fan and I'm fascinated with the 70s rock n roll scene. I could vividly picture this as a series of interwoven interviews cut with old footage of the band. I heard Amazonis turning it into a series, so 🤞🏻 they do a good job!

This one has stirred up a lot of hype and I can see why! I love the 70‘s era and the music of that time. A super unique way to tell the story; documentary style as if everyone was interviewed and the book was pieced together from what was said. I also loved that those “interviewed” on a topic often saw things differently from another person interviewed about the same topic. Such a FUN read! And the song lyrics at the end was the cream on top!

This book drew me in from the start and I didn't want to put it down. There was certainly drama to keep you interested, but it wasn't the extremely gory or played out drama that is seen so often. It was believable, it felt like it could be real life, and managed to be relatable even though my life is far from the one of a major rock star. I highly recommend to any type of reader.
