Last month's goals went pretty well, and I have a LOT of goals this month preparing for the rush that is December. Some of these include:
- Read 8 books
- write 10,000 words for NaNoWriMo
- Exercise every week
- No spending 5 days a week

I read this for this moth's #fairytalereadingchallenge but I'm not sure it really qualifies as a Red Riding Hood retelling? I enjoyed it and it is largely about the big bad wolf so I'm gonna say that's good enough for me!

A lot going on at the moment so I'm just gonna cram it all here!

I achieved 11 hours for August's #20in4 readathon so not bad @Andrew65 but I plan to get there at some point this year!!

I really enjoyed this retelling, although to be honest it's the first Robin Hood story I've ever read ? I loved Scarlet as an MC - it really mixed up the usual "Merry Men" aesthetic. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. 4.5 ⭐

I had some exciting ideas for this months #fairytalereadingchallenge but I ended up reading another of the Timeless Fairy Tales series, which I am really enjoying. I love that Shea always writes such awesome MCs and the stories are relaxed and easy to follow. 4⭐

This month's #fairytalereadingchallenge was an old book I've had on the shelf a while. It was fun, engaging, and a little different, plus it got me out of my reading slump so yay for me! Overall I'm gonna go with 4⭐ because it was good, but not amazing.

This month's #YABuddyRead was beautiful. Hearbreaking and difficult and anger-inducing, but beautiful. It tells the story of Amal, a creative black youth wrongfully imprisoned, through captivating verse and abstract artwork. I imagine I'll be revisiting this book again and again. 5 ⭐

This has been on my TBR for SO LONG and I'm soo glad I finally got to it. It was full of magic and wonder and political intrigue which drove me absolutely nuts. The main character annoyed me a little, as did the not-quite love triangle, but honestly I think that just added to the overall ambience.
I can't wait to see what happens next! 5 ⭐

Read this for May's #YABuddyRead although I missed the discussion thanks to being at work! I really loved this book - it was poetic and beautiful and frustrating in so many ways. It wouldn't be what I normally pick up, but I'm glad I read it.

March's #BFC21 challenge has gone well! I didn't achieve EVERYTHING but I made a good go. April is uni deadline month so my goals are pretty focussed.

1. Read 3 books
2. Take time to rest and reflect everyday
3. Make progress on deadlines 6 days/week
4. Exercise once a week

I'm not usually a Patrick Ness fan, but I LOVED this book. It follows 4 friends who live in an average town, which just occasionally is overrun with demons or vampires. It was thought provoking and ethereal, but just so goddam funny. 4.5 ⭐

Month 3 for #FBC21 with @wanderinglynn and I am excited to expand my goals!

I've beat my monthly book goal two months in a row so I'm upping this to 5 books this month to see how it goes.
In terms of exercising I really haven't been keeping up, so I'm gonna drop down to once a week, just to get myself motivated.
For a selfcare angle I want to journal everyday and cleanse my face at least 5X a week.

I'm looking forward to it 🥰

Reread this retelling for @Charityann 's #fairytalereadingchallenge . It was beautiful to read, but didn't feel very deep. I loved it when I first read it 8 or 9 years ago, but now it just seems a bit... empty. 3⭐

Read this in one day. Would have been one sitting but work got in the way 🙈 I knew from the first paragraph I would be hooked and it did not disappoint - I genuinely laughed out loud more times than I care to mention. The writing style was so funny and honest and some turns of phrase had me in stitches (the last line is GOLD). 5⭐

Tl;dr: READ THIS SAPPY QUEER ROMCOM
