#ISpyBingo - bonus board - mystery/thriller edition!!

By the way, I included “ellipsis in blurb“ because I always find those suspicious. I love it when they say something like, “this book was ... amazing ... and great!“ Like what words did you edit out exactly!?!? 😂

Okay friends, I've created another Canva document, this one with bonus #ISpyBingo boards!! These boards each have a theme and are 4x4. These are “optional“ boards (as opposed to the monthly boards, which of course are REQUIRED OR ELSE 😂) I will post the link, and I'm also going to go ahead and upload each board onto Litsy next, but I am not going to tag everyone on every board - you can just look and see them at your leisure. I managed to come ⬇

What in the what is happening!? It's almost 2026!!! Unreal!!
HUGE thank you to all of you for spinning with me in 2025!! Later this month I'll post a reminder for the giveaway. But for now, it's time to look forward - every year I start my tag list over so that I can clear out inactive users. So if you would like to be tagged for this challenge next year, please let me know in this post, and I'll add you to the 2026 (!!!!) Tag List!!

Apparently the #BookSpinBingo Fates have decided to wish us a Merry Christmas - both Spins are in the same column with TWO free spaces as well!! I genuinely did not set that up!! 😂 It is unbelievable to me that we are on the final BookSpinBingo challenge of the year!! Thank you all for reading along with me in 2025!!
Standard monthly info below ⬇

Good morning, everyone! The moment you have all been waiting for!! Our official #BookSpin number is TWENTY! Our official #DoubleSpin number is TEN!! I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at everyone‘s lists & am really looking forward to seeing your reviews!!
My next post will be the #BookSpinBingo card. I am NOT tagging anyone on that post!! If you want to bingo, please just check my profile for the card. This saves me having to double tag ⬇

My rather battered copy of this book - it's one of the first Trixie books I ever read, as it is one of the few that my aunt had on her shelf when I was little!!
We jumped from fall in the last book to summer break in this book, but you'll have that 😂 This was another fun Sleepyside mystery, although it did feel like there were a lot of moving pieces. And I never figured out how the drug boss ended up owning the flower store 😆 But I enjoyed ⬇

Okay friends!! I have completed the 2026 #ISpyBingo boards!! Here is the link to view them. Like last year, I'll also (TRY) to post them before each month!! I'll be working on adding this challenge to Storygraph and will let you know when that goes live as well!!
I am going to tag everyone who was on last year's tag list. Please let me know if you'd like to be removed (no hard feelings!!) or added!!

@Librarybelle I am pleased to let you know that I actually completed the #192025 challenge!!! 🎉 I have absolutely LOVED this and am so glad that we're signing up for another five years 😂 I read a lot of older books every year anyway but it was still fun to try and hunt down certain years!! Thank you so much for hosting!!!

Well, my friends, here we are: this time next week it will be DECEMBER aka the FINAL MONTH OF 2025!!! I'm not sure how it happened, but here we are!
The #BookSpin #DoubleSpin #BookSpinBingo challenge will be back for 2026!! Sometime in the next couple of weeks I'll post an official 2026 sign-up post. Having everyone sign up fresh every year helps me keep my tag list from getting bogged down with inactive users or people who aren't interested in⬇

Honestly @janeycanuck getting #SnowedIn with a pile of books sounds like an ideal situation 😂 Hope you enjoy these - you had some fun ones on your list!!
Thanks for hosting @PuddleJumper !!

What!! We are on the last board of 2025!! Here is December #ISpyBingo board. I'm working on the 2026 boards and hope to post them in a week or so!! I don't know why I enjoy this challenge so much 😂
As always, anyone is welcome to play!! Search for items anywhere on the outside of a book. If you want to play all the 2025 boards or see the rest, I'll link below!!

@PuddleJumper - Well, throughout the day today I FINALLY got caught up entering all my #GottaCatchEmAll prompts!!! For the first time since like... April 😂 I actually only have three left to catch (five prompts) so I am feeling optimistic about completing the challenge!! Thank you for hosting - I really enjoy this challenge, even when I'm bad at posting!!

Daniel Pinkwater is definitely a marmite author. Either you're totally willing to embrace an 11-year-old left on his own for a week who starts seeing a band of giant lizards playing music on late-night TV and then meets up with an old black man with a chicken on his head who seems to go by several mysterious aliases and they travel together to a floating invisible island to meet up with a bunch of lizards named Reynold... or you're not 😂

Not me on my porch at 5:30am trying to get an autumnal picture of a BookSpinBingo board in the dark 😂 ANYWAY here's November's board!! Middle row is looking hot this month!! And I love it when BookSpin and DoubleSpin are in the same column like that - WITH a free space!!! November's looking positive. Hope you all have a fabulous month of reading and taking some time for gratitude 💕

This was a fun mystery, nothing groundbreaking. I enjoyed the banter and Mart's huge words. However, I needed more horses 😂 The villain felt ridiculously obvious here, but the other aspects of the mystery (how, why, time capsule, clues, etc) were fun.

I picked this one up because it is by an Ohio author who decided to use the Buckeye Trail (a trail that travels in a circle around Ohio) as part of her setting. However, this just didn't really work for me. A lot of the characters' actions didn't really make sense, especially towards the end. The motivation of the killer also had me a little confused as well. It was an okay read, but I don't see myself picking up the sequel.

This was a reread for me, and while I always love reading along with the #HashtagBrigade , ol' Victor got on my nerves even more this time around. He's just so useless! If he spent half the time actually doing something productive as he does sitting around and bemoaning his fate, the creature wouldn't have had the opportunities for destruction that he had. In the end, I think both Frankenstein and the creature are both monsters. This book ⬇

I got slightly confused and read November's #ChristieCapers book instead of October's 😂 I love Tommy and Tuppence, and the concept here is fun. However, this one always falls a little flat for me because I'm just not familiar enough with the classic detectives Christie references throughout the book. Still, some of the mysteries are quite good, and I do love the way Christie spoofs Hercule Poirot at the end.

This vintage mystery was a great deal of fun, but a bit too repetitive for it to be a 5* read. Still, a pick for being engaging, humorous, and all around good fun.

Well my friends, somehow we are less than a week away from November! Less than 2 months from Christmas! Rapidly closing in on TWENTY-TWENTY-SIX, despite the fact that years haven't felt real since 2000.
This means it's also time to talk about the end-of-the-year giveaway!! As a reminder, every BookSpin or DoubleSpin book that you complete or DNF counts as a giveaway entry!! However, to enter you must complete the form!! ⬇

Somehow, we are already closing in on November!!! Here's the #ISpyBingo board. As always, everyone is welcome to join!! If you want to see all the 2025 boards, go here - https://www.canva.com/design/DAGVO4NctsY/-lGsmflP3sUW9FsAung8hg/view?utm_content...

Woohoo!! Time for what is becoming an annual tradition for me - the #BirthdayBashReadathon !!! Join me in reading and eating the birthday treat of your choice this weekend!! 😁 And I feel like there are a couple of other Littens whose birthdays fall on this weekend - if it's you, let me know!!

Here are a few #TravelingThrills options - any thoughts?? @Jerdencon @bookandbedandtea

Thank you to everyone who joined me this weekend for the #JustOneMoreChapter readathon!! It was so fun to see how much progress everyone made!! I finished two books and got about a third of the way through the tagged, which considering how much other stuff was going on this weekend, felt like good progress 😂
Stay tuned for next weekend - I'll be hosting my annual Birthday Bash readathon as my birthday is Monday!!

I wish I loved this book more, but it ended up being a soft pick for me. The concept was very intriguing, but it also felt a little draggy through the middle bits. I've been kind of sad lately, so I'm not sure if this book really was pretty melancholy, or if it just felt that way to me 😂 But look at that GORGEOUS cover! I honestly may keep it just because it's SO pretty.

Here are my weekend goals for the #JustOneMoreChapter readathon. I just stared Bride last night, but would love to finish it plus the next two in the queue!! The weather is looking gorgeous and we have a ton of little projects to get done, but I am hoping to squeeze in plenty of reading, too!!
#HauntedShelf #ScreamTeam

September was super hectic and stressful, but it feels like things are finally starting to calm down and find their equilibrium again! And I'm finally feeling like picking up some books!!! So join me this weekend (Friday-Monday) for a lil readathon. And if you're a part of #HauntedShelf, enjoy a little point stacking as well 😁
@PuddleJumper
#ScreamTeam @ImperfectCJ

This book followed the pattern of other Barclay books I've read: intriguing concept, good pacing, likable characters - but then goes off the rails a bit right at the end and leaves me confused about the WHY behind the villain(s). A soft pick, because for me to really love a book, I need to get that full-circle satisfaction of everything clicking together in the end.

This one landed as a soft pick. It kept me glued to the pages while I was reading it, but I felt a little let down by the ending. This seems to be a common theme for me with this author.
This one is on its way to you @bookandbedandtea !! And @Jerdencon - I received Her Every Fear this week!! #TravelingThrills

One of my goals for October is to get back into posting regular reviews!! I started this one in September as a #KindredSpiritsBuddyRead – I had never really heard of it before and wasn‘t sure what to expect. Irving recounts a trip to Spain, where he spends several weeks living in the semi-ruined palace of Alhambra, just outside Granada. While parts of this book bog down with Irving‘s enthusiastic historical facts (apparently he was there to ⬇

Good morning, friends!! Hope things are feeling autumnal (or springy!) where you are. I LOVE October and am SO excited to see what all our new trees look like this fall!! A reminder that any books you read for BookSpin/Bingo this month count as a HauntedShelf readathon if you are participating, and bingos scored can also be counted as bingo points!! Happy reading, everyone!!

Well, we are less than a week away from OCTOBER! Generally, fall is my favorite but also my busiest season. Things also went a bit off the rails this month, so things have been bonus chaotic!! Hoping to get back on track in October (my birthday month!!). It is FINALLY raining (before this week we had gotten less than an inch altogether since July 29!) and we are excited to see what colors all our new trees are!!
All this is a very rambly way of ⬇

@JoeMo - While on a lovely autumnal walk, you come across an empty house. Inside, you find a crackling fire, a steaming pot of tea, and a pile of books from your TBR. Surely there's no harm in sitting down to read a few pages. Surely it's not possible that while you think you've only spent a few minutes reading in this cozy nook, centuries have passed...
You've been #TrappedinaSpookyHouse !!
@PuddleJumper

While I'm a day late posting my #FallingForFallSwap pic, I was early to open it 😂 @BarkingMadRead thank you so much for everything!! I had a crap week and treated myself to a little present from you every day (which is also why there aren't as many Reese Cups in the picture as you sent 😆) I love everything!!!!
@Avanders @Chrissyreadit - Thank you so much for hosting as always!!

My #FallingForFallSwap package is finally on its way east!! And I received my package several days ago and just have never gotten around to posting about it, so I apologize!!
Thank you so much for hosting @Avanders @Chrissyreadit !!!

I really enjoyed this installment. I think my favorites are the ones where they are in Sleepyside. I can't remember if the solution to this one seemed as obvious to me when I was growing up as it did when I was reading it this time around. Also, I genuinely had in my mind that Jim's stepfather had died in the house fire of book 1?! But apparently I made that up completely 😂 Biggest issue was that the sister of the poor lady in Illinois is⬇

Happy September, everyone!! Here is our #BookSpinBingo board for this month!! Free spaces have lined up super nicely with our Spins, so here's hoping for a fantastic reading month!! As always, let me know if you have any questions!!!

We are less than a week away from SEPTEMBER!! September of TWENTY-TWENTY-FIVE HOW IS THIS REAL LIFE!?!?!
But seriously, time is flying as always, and if you'd like to join in this month's #BookSpin/#BookSpinBingo (before or after your mini-existential crisis, whatever works best 😂) it's time to start thinking about your lists!!
The weather here has finally cooled off (it's a PERFECT morning and the windows are OPEN) so I am feeling good ⬇

Here is September's #ISpyBingo board!!! As always, everyone is welcome to play. Items can be found on a book's front cover, back cover, or spine. I personally play each board for a full year, so take however much time you like to make the challenge work for you!!
Happy hunting!!!

I personally found this to be one of the weakest of the series so far. The plot was really choppy and a bit random (gun runners??) and, more aggravating, the gang just felt like they kept making really dumb decisions? Let's get in a boat with a stranger!! Let's go swimming all alone when the pool is closed and no one is around!! Let's leave Trixie & Honey alone in the hotel after we said the hotel wasn't safe!! Let's run off with two people we ⬇
