If you are making the switch from goodreads, so many reasons to leave, feel free to friend/follow me :) I‘m julsmarshall there too!

This was so great! The WW II setting, the smart and complicated characters, the mystery and romantic underpinnings. I will definitely read more in the series. Pictures with a gift from my husband to help track my reading over the year.

First Bingo board of 2026! #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks Starting my #bookspin (tagged) this morning on #audio .

I have a reading journal this year and I‘m excited to tweak it to fit my goals and challenges. AI use the same list for my #Roll100 and #ReadorDonate and here it is! The tagged is a January #Roll100 and my #readordonate is Plus Sized Player. @julieclair @PuddleJumper

Wow! I loved learning Haymitch‘s story. It was powerful and really brought a lot to the series. Heartbreaking but highly recommended. Great on #audio , I had to finish in 3 days to return and it was so good ghat it was easy to do. Encouraged me to get most of the Christmas decorations down while I listened.

This short, philosophical examination of food and how to eat gave me a lot to think about. Perfect book to be thinking about as I enter a new year.
Finished out the month with 8 bingos. Not too bad for a busy month. @TheAromaofBooks

This short mystery was a lot of fun to listen to while putting my house back in order after the holidays. It kept me engaged and guessing.

Funny, adorable, a hallmark movie in book form. A good, easy read during the busy holiday season.

Charming, surprising, special. This unique story about a sentient typewriter and the family he loves is short, sweet, and lovely.

My goodreads year end stats. This is my last year with goodreads-exclusively using storygraph next year. I‘m @Julsmarshall there too is you want to connect!

I really enjoyed this holiday home switch, a la The Holiday. I really cared about the characters and the exploration of race, place, and belonging was compelling.

So good! This short holiday novella packs a punch. Thoughtful with beautiful, spare prose, I will be thinking of this for awhile-what makes a person rich and fulfilled and what isn‘t as important as you might think.

Thank you, @peanutnine ! I‘m so excited about the book and I‘m thrilled to try the chocolate from Erie, PA. Thank you for continuing my favorite Litsy tradition, @MaleficentBookDragon !

This was okay. I liked the story but the male narrator was really annoying. If it hadn‘t been so short, I may have given up.

This was adorable! Great backstory, hilarious family Christmas, I blew through it, don‘t want to put it down. Pretty steamy but the plot stands without it. Starting the second one tonight :)

This was fantastic! Great tips for anyone who works with marketing, negotiation, sales or influence. I got a lot of great takeaways from this short and clear book. Highly recommend!
My #jolabokaflod package has gone out, @MaleficentBookDragon I snapped a photo but it won‘t seem to let me post. Love this fun time of year, full of surprises!

An estranged mother and her daughters travel to Scotland for Christmas and find a way to heal their family. Charming and sweet, I loved the setting. A great holiday read!

Funny, silly steamy. This was just ok for me.

My December bingo board, so much possibility right now!

A great set of essays from a brilliant voice. They made me think, laugh, and shake with anger. Wonderful on #audio, read by the author. 6 bingoes for November, not terrible for a busy month. @TheAromaofBooks

Is there anything ether than a quiet house, reading my first holiday book of the season, in front of the tree with my dog? A lot to do today but enjoying some quiet time first.

I really enjoyed this fresh take of the Taylor-Travis storyline. The musician and football star are in the background, focusing on their brilliant, complicated agents who have an immediate connection and heated romance. This funny, smart, sapphic romance was a delight! Releasing Jan 6, it would be a fun way to kick off a reading year. Thanks to #netgalley for the ARC! #netgalleygroup @AllDebooks

Great on #audio, read by the author and Blair Underwood. Great history of his life and I enjoyed hearing about the story behind his music. Also encouraged me to go back and listen to some of those songs from my youth-so fun!

Fantastic! I always love a Clayborn novel but this one really brings the angst and longing to a new level. A terrible first meeting, this pair of lonely(but happy to be-just ask them!) are thrown together in what may be the most awkward destination wedding ever. Paris makes for the perfect setting though in surprising ways. Releases April 7,2026, thanks to #netgalley for the ARC!
Charming, cozy, sweet, and perfect for late fall. I loved this book when I read it a couple of weeks ago and highly recommend!

My December #BookspinBingo list! Love this reflective time of year where I can relax and read. Wasn‘t always that way but now that the kids are grown, it is calmer around here :)

Great read, especially timely. Jam packed with information about Amazon, their practices, and the global, far reaching implications. Borrrowed from my library, this was written by a indie bookstore owner who has a clear perspective and strong opinions about the best way to fight back against the shady dealings and secretive data mining they Amazon has perfected. Also, going to exclusively track my books in storygraph next yr, no more goodreads.

I had the privilege to hear this author talk about her book at the #TexasBookFestival and I immediately had to track it down. It tells the true story of a murder that was the inspiration for Hawthorne‘s The Scarlet Letter and the woman who tried to bring the likely killer to justice. It examines true crime, the victims, their families and the storytellers bringing everything to light. Really good on #audio

Are you someone who seeks out emotional historical fiction centered on the quiet resistance of words against tyranny? This is the book for you. Strong character building with queer perspectives allow hope to shine through wartime storytelling with books and strong women saving the day.

Oof, what a powerful and heartbreaking read. Joan Didion writes about experience, grief, and family like no other and her books manage to affect me at a deep level, staying with me a long time. This is one I hadn‘t yet read, so thankful that the #AAM challenge had me read her again. With my parents in that “blue night” era, this really resonated and Insee glimpses of myself there too. And yes, that is my undecorated tree 🤫 @Soubhiville

Fabulous! Nice to be back with the Thursday Night crew, they are all such gems. There are a couple of different stories going on here and it is heartwarming, suspenseful and funny as usual 😊

This one was just okay for me. I needed a deeper exploration of how these life long friends all of a sudden fell into romantic love. The tropical setting was lovely and the spice was high, there just wasn‘t enough there there for me.

This was sweet, funny, a strawberry sundae with extra whipped cream kind of book. Perfect for a busy work week where I needed a bit of an escape. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

Thoughtful and cutting, this follow up to Parable of the Sower might not have been quite as strong but it was fascinating to see where Butler took the story and I‘m glad I read both books. Butler truly was a generational talent that examined the American experiment with a keen eye and a sharp tongue.

Absolutely delightful! If you like witchy vibes, found family, and a cozy comfort read, this is the book for you! #BookspinBingo #Doublespin @TheAromaofBooks

Had a great day at the Texas Book Festival yesterday. Even with all the political shenanigans going on in the world, it felt like more people than ever showed up to connect, learn, and celebrate books and intellectual freedom.

Great thriller. Upsetting with a horrid male character so your content warnings. Jewell writes a twisty thriller than I‘m never sure how she till tie it up, but she always does seamlessly.

Fantastic! I finished this last month and loved it! Great on audio as she read it. I never knew about her theatre career (original cast of A Chorus Line) and her challenging childhood. What an incredible life, a truly great story.

While it is wild and very fantastic I find this dark world interesting and I blew though this second book. I always love a dark and moody hero-make him a werewolf and it‘s twice the fun!

I was terrible about logging my books this month but I did a lot of reading and cleared the board! The tagged book was great! A cozy, witchy, fantasy and I enjoyed every minute on #audio .

This had a lot of great information, well researched and cited and delivered in an accessible way. If you are a person with a uterus of a certain age, I recommend checking this one out.

These halloween romance novellas are so much fun ! I‘ve read the top 3, will likely get to the other 3 by Halloween 🎃 👻🧛♂️

My goodness, why did it take me so long to read this book? It may be the best dystopian novel I‘ve ever read. Compelling and thoughtful, I love how Butler gradually reveals this world through the characters and how complex and flawed they are while still making them redeemable. I‘m waiting for the next book, so happy Butler was chosen for #AAM @Soubhiville

Super cute! A little silly but filed with good friends and sweet animals (MCs are veterinarians) and I enjoyed it.
