I LOVED school- High School, College and Grad school! (I was a huge nerd )
I loved so much about High School-
1. I was able to attend Close Up 3 times - a program in DC to actively learn about govt,
2. I participated in The National Conf of Christian and Jews- it was life changing.
3. I was very active in Student Govt and Track by Sr year Captain of my team and President of my class.
My HS had 6000 students.

I have started my embroidery for my hoodie with images from favorite books. #showandtelltuesday #litsycrafters

If you are not following ashleytheebarroness on IG I highly recommend her- I am learning so much and her voice and cadence are amazing. How did we get here? read Half The Sky- it‘s an amazing book that shares the way limiting women limits the world. I have not read this book by Allende but am getting the audio today- buddy read anyone? #thislitelightofmineimgonnaletitshine

I liked this book with some cultural insights and fake to real marriage trope.

I actually picked this up because the main characters name is Brynn…. It‘s considered a romantasy but it reminds me more of historical with fantasy and romance elements- and I liked the world building and magic system. I am looking forward to reading the next book too.

My friend asked me to read this as she just got back into reading and remembered it as a favorite from middle school ish age- and It was pretty good! Creepy, atmospheric- reminded me of Coraline a bit- and I do recommend as an easy Halloween time read.

Friday was the celebration of first harvests- but I celebrate the season not just one day- Anyone have any fun traditions or events for Lughnasadh? I hope all of you here that celebrate are enjoying the gifts of this season and i am celebrating the gift of our litsy community 😘

I LOVED this book! So it turns out Ali Hazelwood is the contemporary romance writer i needed to read! There is an age difference, there is consent, there is fighting ALLLL the feelings! Obscene wealth held by good people and a supportive cast that has all the support ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Miss Willa‘s bookstore opened today- It is beautiful- filled with all the books I want to read… and only two blocks from my office. (i‘m across the street from a used bookstore also) I feel like i won a work location jack pot. Also- over 1,000 people i believe showed up!

The f*ing bill cut the water project of the Navaho Nation - and the Republican chair of committee is smirking while saying to the representative that it‘s because we do not have money for that…. 1 year ago…. we could have had this leadership team and i will not be over it. Ariella Elm really helps me find hope with the work our reps are doing to fight for what is right.

I love this Deb! I learned Stacey Abrams has a new book out- and while i have not read her fiction i think i will- because this woman amazes me! And librarian extraordinaire reminds us that we can make a difference supporting PBS and NPR!

I feel like this story has potential and all the components I enjoy, but was repetitive at times, and slow in an unnecessary way. I‘m nervous about investing in the series because of spoilers I read - (I‘m ok with spoilers btw) but will try out the third book and see.

I love that these authors came to our local bookstore!!! AND 100% talked about #overcomingevilempires - I‘m pretty sure would love the #antifabookclub

I could not find this in Litsy so it‘s a different title- but i really enjoyed this spicy green light summer read about a fake couple at a marriage camp… I really liked the sex positive approach, focus on communication, consent, this was a great escape and made me laugh out loud a few times!

This absolutely cozy book oozes found family and witchy shenanigans, yummy magical teas, 3 rowdy children and reminded my of The House In The Cerulean Sea. It is about love and how being nice and being kind are two different things- and in the end we will be around people who are nice but it is the people who are kind that will matter. I think about that now- how this book shares an important message. #antifabookclub #overcomingevilempires

An easy, breezy Summery Rom Com. But there were a couple things ILOVED about it- 1. the FMC is a body guard, demonstrates that she is able to do the job. 2. She repeatedly models that with appropriate training in prevention and de-escalation most situations can be handled safely for every one. Not gonna lie! I‘m incredibly anxious about the devestation to me and millions of others if this broken, brutal bleak budget bill passes. I look at history for hope and of course books about fighting fascist regimes- these are three of my favorites! Does anyone else want to share books that give them hope for #overcomingevilempires ?
