#JoysofJune starts Saturday. With next week being busy with appointments to prepare for surgery, I should have time to finish with at least 1 book. 😀 Plus my son is going to be with his grandparents so I will have some quiet time to read!
#JoysOfJune @Andrew65
Goals:
Finish Wyrd Sisters by Pratchett (if I don't finish it before the 10th)
Start/Finish: Enter the Body by Rutter, Jane Eyre by Bronte, The Crane Husband by Barnhill
Happy belated birthday @Bookishlie and @Pogue 🎉🎊🎈🎁 We hope that you had a wonderful day!!

1. Anything by Charles Portis, but let's say Masters of Atlantis.
2. True Grit. I have yet to meet anyone, of any age or background, who did not love this book.
3. I never realized till now how many of my favorite authors are dead. 🤣 How about GRRM, so I can harangue him about abandoning his ASOIAF duties.
Thanks for the tag @Ast_Arslan 😊

Volume 2 of Kei x Yaku Dangerous Buddy
I've found 8 volumes so far, only the first 2 have been translated into English. Not sure if the rest of it will be translated.
The drama follows the manga quite closely except it takes out the fake dating part. Some characters are shown to think they are dating but they don't do much to encourage it.
Been good only chose 4 🤦♀️🤦♀️😂😭😱 now I got 60 tbr to get through of ones actually want done.
Oh dear now I got access to kindle unlimited that I share with my friend 🤦♀️ my tbr list got bigger

I got some #LitsyLove and laughed when I saw the sticker on the envelope: of course I had to read what titles there were and I had actually read them all - I don't know if that was a coincident or a spy at work 😂

My June #BookspinBingo board. My #Bookspin is #camplitsy read The Bandits, which I‘m thoroughly enjoying. #Doublespin #Naturalitsy read is Islands of Abandonment, a book I‘ve been meaning to get to for awhile. Looking forward to the month! @TheAromaofBooks
My #BookspinBingo recap! Got a Bingo! Read my #Bookspin and #Doublespin. So many great reads. Ada Limon‘s poetry collection The Hurting Kind—great. Telephone by Percival Everett— poignant, very different from The Trees. Matrix, Ducks fantastic. Love Finding the Mother Tree. Written in 1925, Manhattan Transfer is so ahead of its time, snapshots of NYC and people struggling to live and thrive. Greenwood a disappointment. @TheAromaofBooks
Lives up to the title. However, beyond the ick, there‘s really nothing of substance.

June 5 #VolumesandVocals Love yourselve Justin Bieber First time hearing this song, and I even like some of his songs. Just goes to show you jow often I listen to the radio. Lol. But I thought of this quote. 🤔 @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
I nearly drowned myself in the resort pool trying to see what people were reading 😝 so I would have to agree 😂
This is the fifth book in Kay Bratt's HART'S RIDGE series.
Each book is heartwarming and a story that will make you stop and think. This family has many problems but they are there for each other. Always.
My favorite line in this book:
“NO ONE SHOULD CARRY THE BURDEN OF SHAME IN SILENCE.“
There is more to the paragraph, but this line did me in.
Another 5 star book!

Yes, I added more partially read books to the stack but my flights to and from Boston meant I did get to finish two books this week. My ereader is old and doesn‘t hold a charge super well anymore so I couldn‘t work on several of the books I should be reading but I‘m not terribly sad about that. 😉 And now I need to recover from the weekend long meeting so I‘m heading to bed rather than trying to finish more. #bookreport #weeklyforecast @Cinfhen

Happy Sunday and Happy Reading!
This audiobook wasn‘t in the database…it was so good! Lydia from Pride and Prejudice tells her side of the story. We learn exactly how she ended up with Wickham, what her married life is like, and why she takes matters in her own hands and starts to live her life on her terms. It‘s narrated by a full cast, with musical interludes and sound effects, making the production a great listener experience! Highly recommend to P&P fans!
I'm learning to play Wingspan at my local library!
Anyone else love board games?
Avoiding my responsibilities by creating bingo boards that won't be needed for months 🤣
It was my weekend to work - which obviously means redoing the YA display… which hadn‘t really been updated since I did it last time (topped up but not changed)
No theme this time but I went for pretty covers that still looked shiny & new. I hope to see none of them still on display when I‘m in next.
(For context - I don‘t work at my regular branch when it‘s my turn for weekend work, it‘s a different rostering system)
Combined #BookReport and #WeeklyForecast :
I am now on track with my GR number again! Assassin in Utopia was a bit of a disappointment- great info, but execution did not match the premise of the book - but I loved the other two nonfiction books I read.
As for this week, I‘ll probably finish the Caroline Graham on audio by the end of the week - it was released on Thursday, & I‘m already about halfway - I enjoy John Hopkins as a narrator!
Hope to see you this week.
Have you read any of these books?

Kei x Yaku Dangerous Buddy isn't on Litsy. I think this is volume 1 of 2 currently translated/available.
I enjoy a good bad guy/cop team up and this is delightful. The duo have to pretend to be dating to cover up their investigation.
