Homemade Arepas filled with Carne Mechada, black beans, and cheese for #FoodAndLit #Venezuela
These were delicious! But we did make the arepas a bit too thin, so they were very hard to cut to fill. We will likely make these again though and keep in mind that they need to be slightly thicker!
Didn‘t see this in the database, but it‘s available for free on Audible with my membership, so I thought why not give it a listen. Indeed, some of the best known poems are included, but there were also some I hadn‘t heard/read before. I‘m not a huge poetry girl but this was enjoyable!

I used to buy books rarely, almost exclusively getting them from the library, but during the pandemic I started buying them, and now it's getting out of hand. I mentioned this to my spouse, who noted that I've been getting books from the library again. "You're not buying them anymore, right? You just have the ones we own to pare down?"
All I can say is that I must be giving books away fairly well, if he hasn't noticed that we keep getting more.

Just shy of 2 weeks post op and the stitches are out. I was able to wash my hand today and it was so freaking fantastic! 😆 4-6 more weeks in the splint.

My toxic trait is I will often not use a bookmark and just expect that I will remember exactly what page I was on. I will actually just close my book and hope for the best. I‘ve never dog-earred a book before. I also have never tried annotating besides for school, and I‘m not even sure what I would write if I did try it. I love some ambience music in the background 🎶
