Hello all… Sorry I‘m running so late with my reads from March. I did not complete any of my #Roll100 for March, but I added them to my April lineup. I completed my #DoubleBookSpin for #BookSpinBingo & my #BookSpin will be read in April as well. I know it wasn‘t the best month for reading because I got sick with pneumonia, but I felt like I did OK overall. I also had a little Ruby Dixon marathon, which was fun.

My theme for April is novellas and audiobooks, since I know once my baby arrives in the next week or two I won't have the time or focus for any other kind of reading.

Woah, I had no idea this book was going to be so dark and disturbing. What the heck did I even read?! It was good, confusing at times, but the author wrapped it up very well. What a twisted story, and one that I think is actually going to haunt me a little!

I enjoyed this mystery set in a remote English village during the WWII era but which doesn‘t center around the war per se but more with it serving as a backdrop. It has a bit of a Gothic feel with a mysterious wraith that our heroine, Ruth, a literary student who wants to write the next great novel, feels needs investigating. Ruth finds herself drawn to Malcolm, a wounded soldier, with a wife who has 🔻

I finished my March #bookspin over the weekend, and I was a little disappointed in this thriller. The first half was pretty slow, and it finally got interesting the last quarter of the book. I wasn‘t really interested in any of the characters, and it jumped around way too much for me. The writing was a bit all over the place at times. Onto my #doublebookspin next!
